Thank you all for all the wonderful suggestions! Wow, so many of us are visual when it comes to weight-loss! It always seems to make it somehow 'real' to write down my accomplishments and see them in black and white. There sure have been lots of times when I've felt discouraged and I'll go back in my journals and just look at how far I've come. Kind of like Mel and her Big Shorts!

I really like all your ideas and plan to incorporate them all. I need to stop by Kinko's today to get a sense of how pricey this will be - hopefully not very. Once it's done, I'll see if I can post the journal or at least describe it.

Thank you again for all your help and if anyone has any other ideas, please post!

Did anyone suggest taking pictures and keeping it in the diary? I like pics they are worth a 1000 words , specially when the scale doesn't move...

Meg,

I am not a writing type hence I am looking for different ways. On the beginning of my weight loss journey I had problems with keeping my water hydration in order. So I would make flash card for every cup of water. Every time I drink a cup, I would put one of the flash cards into the other place. This way, before leaving from work i would know that i fulfilled my hdration requirements.

I am still only keeping my journal for exercise, but I like to write down how much km I ran - even in my signature.

i'm so impressed with all the tracking going on!!! i confess that i'm a slug about this. VERY much in - the - moment. so that means that i didn't want to track more than a day at a time, so i'd write my protein and water intake on little sticky notes. yes. all over my desk. and then get rid of them.

in some respects, i wish that i'd kept a real journal, like the ones you folks do. on the other hand, it's a painful chapter from my life that i want to forget. don't want to forget the lessons, though...

Don't worry jiffy, I'm not a tracker or journal person either. I use fitday sporadically now, although I have used it slavishly in the past. One of the few tangible records that I do have is a line-up of size tags under the glass on my bedside table from the same brand of jeans. Each time I had to buy a smaller size, I was in such a state of disbelief, that I proudly tucked the tag under the glass. I think one of the silly things that keeps me motivated in the feeling that I'd have to pull out the smallest size if I outgrew it

Don't forget a few blank pages for "srapbook" type souvenirs, like my size tags.
