hi guys -
I tried to post on Friday, but obviously didn't hit the submit button...
My grandmother came the surgery fine. It ended up a triple rather than quadruple bypass. She was awake yesterday and looked pretty good considering. I think they are going to try to get an orthopedist in to do some in bed physical therapy on her knee today if possible. We're hoping she will get in a regular room tomorrow.
Sheila - that dog does look sad!
Dagmar - we could have eaten in the cafeteria, but managed to miss all the meal periods most days. We did better on Friday and got down there for a late lunch, but then they didn't server dinner Friday because of the weekend. I just made bad choices.
Hello to everyone else! I've read everything, but am having a hard time keeping my eyes focused right now to answer. Hope everyone has a good Sunday!
Shannon, it sounds like your grandma is doing great! Let's hope it's smooth sailing for a speedy recovery from here out. It sounds like you could use a nap.
I'm with Midwife with identifying with the poor dog. He looks about as unhappy as I was back when I was also ... overfed.
We're doing a bit of a cookout tonight with steaks, but having cold sesame noodles and Asian cucumber salad instead of the usual baked beans and potato salad. Otherwise, it's a cleaning day.
And thank you to all of you with advice about our kitty with fur clumps. He has an appointment at the "kitty spa" on Friday. I had to laugh when I made the appointment for him because the whole process was just like me booking appointments for clients at the "people spa". Except we don't require proof of rabies vaccines. Though maybe we should with some of our clients.
I wanted to let you know that my beautiful, sweet granddaughter died yesterday afternoon. While we all knew she would never grow to adulthood, we got complacent and didn't expect to lose her this soon. Her little bird heart just couldn't work anymore, and she left us as she was napping yesterday. My DH and I were supposed to pick her up at 6:30 pm and take her to the park--instead we were at the hospital holding her lifeless body. Eight and a half years was just not enough.
Sheila, my heart is breaking for you. I remember when she was your avatar picture and know she was the light of your life. All of our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this sad time.
Sheila, sending my warmest supportive thoughts for you and your family in healing through the loss of your granddaughter. Yes, eight and a half years is just not enough.
