Default Hi there!

I am here! Hi, all!

I’m going to lurk a bit and see where I can jump in, but wanted to post something to declare that I’m around and committed to this journey.

I lost 30 pounds a year and a half ago (and 20+ two years before that), and got myself into pretty good shape. Since then, I’ve gained back 12 pounds and lost quite a bit of muscle. I’m sooo disappointed that I’ve allowed all my hard work and effort to erode slowly since last October. Yeah, I’ve had stress (new job, new house, another new job, etc.), and I’ve kept some of my good habits. There are all the usual excuses…but ultimately I haven’t been doing what needs to be done, and I’m sick and tired of worrying about my weight gain and beating myself up about my lack of consistency. It doesn’t matter if I have friends who can eat/drink anything and not exercise regularly and stay slim…I can’t! There’s nothing fair or unfair about it – that’s just the way it is. I can accept it and move on, or deny and slowly regain all that weight and more.

I’ve been trying to get back on track by myself for the past month, but my fitday and eating habits aren’t quite what they should be. I am starting notice improvements in my workouts (I'm running stronger, and my problem knee is doing much better), but I haven't been consistent enough in the diet area to lose any weight. I need support, and I need people…and accountability. So here I am!

No more excuses. No more half-hearted efforts. I’m here for the duration. I weighed in today at 145 lbs, aiming to be at 130 lbs in 12 weeks (12/3/06). I’m 5’2”, so that probably isn’t the end goal, but it’s a good place to start. Having a beautiful day today – biked with a friend this early morning and went running later in the afternoon. Eating is within limits so far. My goal today is to pack lunch and snacks for work tomorrow and have a plan of action in place for the work week.

I look forward to getting to know y'all and getting DOWN!

I think it is beautiful that you recommitted before you regained all your weight then some like so many do. The fact that you kept many of your habits in maintence state says a lot! You will do great! It's hard work but I don't have to tell you that..you've already been a success story!
