Default 75 to lose and need a buddy

I have about 75 to lose and need a buddy.I am not sure what diet I should start.I can't afford weight watchers right now.I have thought about counting calories but I am undecided right now.Any ideas would be great.

Hey JaneSD I am new too. I am in the same boat as you, not sure what diet to follow but I know I want to lose weight. It is hard to motivate when you don't know what to do. If you are interested in a budding up, let me know.

I am interested in a buddy. For now I think that I will count calories until unless I find something else to try.
Do you know anything about the low carb diets.Do you only get to eat meat or can you eat fruits and veggies too?
I would go low carb put I don't know if I can handle not having bread.

Yes, I am familiar with South Beach, which I like better than Atkins. I had started in a while ago but had no support so I managed to get off course. I think I have tried every diet in the world including counting calories, fat and all that jazz. I think one of the biggest things is keeping a food journal, which is a pain. But I used to do that when I lost a lot of weight that I now have gained a large portion back. I think it is also helpful to share your food journal. I know that sounds weird but I think when you know someone is going to be seeing what you consumed, you have a tendency to be a little more motivated. How does that sound to you?? Do you have the South Beach book? or maybe just counting calories and keeping an eye on your carb and fat intake would be better. Let me know.

I think one of the keys is not to think of it as all or nothing but more like making the right choices. If you ate something you feel bad about, record it in your journal and move on but realize that it probable wasn't the best choice. Eat smart.

Good for you. I know how hard it is to get motivated in the cold. My day has been blah. I have been stuck behind my desk all day. At lunch I was able to run to the mall and stretch my legs a little bit. I had a bowl of Fiber One for breakfast, energy snack bar for my mid-morning snack and a cup of chicken soup w/ half of a Whole wheat bagel . It is suppose to rain all weekend, BLAH!
