Default New to this site.

Veteran Wgt loss survivor. Way back I lost 90#, and kept it off for 20 years. Then I got and beat breast cancer, but ate my way through the stress. Almost back to goal when DH developed cancer. After 6 years it got him. My wgt went up, etc. 4 years ago I said enough of this and started losing. Again. Slowly, but consistently. I have beaten T2 diabetes into remission. My A1c has been 5.5 for two years running. I am not cured, you do not cure diabetes. You control it. I am still losing and "almost" halfway to goal. With a big problem. My kidneys are failing. I will be on dialysis within 18 months. However, eating healthfully and no gimmicky diets, the rest of the wgt will come off. And is.
For the past 6 months doing just fine. Consistent wgt loss, loving life, walking 3 miles per day with my dog.
I just need somewhere to check in from time to time. I attend weekly wgt loss mtgs, great support, but having to avoid certain foods. Fantastic family support.
For the most part, all is right in my world.
