Arrow I need help!

Okay so my username is my son's initials and their birthyears, and now here I sit still @ 5'4" and almost 200lbs, I am SO depressed and I need to get into shape (not only because I want to be slimmer (not rail thin) but a healthy weight, but just because, I want to be healthy and fit! Minor dilemma is that I am still nursing so it's hard to really diet right now, and also it's hard as far as meals go because ALL of my guys are picky!!! (incl hubby lol) So anyhow thought I'd check out the site in hopes of finding some guidance, and of course support. Have a great day!

Welcome to the forum! I'm also new to 3FC.

Wish you the best of luck on your journey. Here's a quote from Benjamin Franklin I find to be quite helpful:

"Never leave that till tomorrow which you can do today"

Cheers,

Canuck

Welcome. I suggest you look for a Support Group or Challenge to join; a small group of friends to help keep you motivated, find one that inspires you or fits your needs, and just post to join.

You might start here! http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/pregnant-nursing-173/ Hope that helps.

Awareness. That is the best piece of advice that I have for you, becoming aware of what you put in your mouth and restraining yourself from being a human garbage disposal of the leftovers that your little ones don't eat etc.

Being you are nursing, you are correct in that you probably can't totally restrict, but it doesn't mean you can't eat healthy. I believe the rule is 80/20. 80% of weight loss is attributed from what you eat, or don't eat. Ask your doctor what a safe caloric intake would be. Let him/her know you would like to lose weight as well and find out if 1800 calories is okay.

Make rules and plan to exercise 3 times a week for 30 minutes at a time. Once you realize how great you feel from it, you will want to do it more.

Best of luck! And here is a link to a BMR calculator. Knowledge is power!

Way to reach out! I remember that nursing stage looking at this body that didn't seem to belong to me anymore and wondering if I'd ever be thin or healthy. Both are possible and definitely check out the link to the other nursing moms.

You'll do awesome and your boys will be all the better for it.
