Hi Everyone! My name is Amanda and I'm here to get the support, inspiration, and motivation that I soooo desperately need to keep me on track. I've viewed so many of the before and after photos that have been posted and if all those beautiful ladies can make such a difference in their lives then there's no reason why I can't either.
So here's a little about me and my weight loss struggle. Like a lot of people here, I've always been overweight. I was 110 in first grade and by the end of my sophomore year in high school I was a little over 210 lbs. Shortly after my Junior year in high school began I moved in with my Aunt. Together we started weight watchers. In addition I had dance classes in school 3 times a week and out of school 2 times a week. I shrank from 210 + to 130 lbs in a matter of six months. Eventually I gained a little and stayed at 145lbs for almost three years, even after I got married! Then I became pregnant and I took eating for two WAY too seriously. I used my pregnancy to justify eating all the high fat, high cal foods that I had been avoid for years. The result? My weight soared to 246 lbs!!! Over a 100 lb weight gain! Within a year, I had managed to drop back down to 162 lbs and I stayed there for quite awhile. Then I started going to school full time and became very relaxed about my food choices. Now a year later I've gain almost 20lbs again. I really want to get down to at least 150. Currently I'm 178. So share with me any stories or ideas that anyone may have! Thanks for listening!
I noticed that you quit smoking. When you quit, did you have a hard time with eating more? I know in the past when I quit I usually eat more. Currently I smoke a pack a day and I want to quit but I'm afraid that starting a new diet and trying to quit at the same time may be a bad idea. What are your thoughts?
Thankfully, I did not have any issues with food and weight gain when I quit smoking. Here is the link to a post where I answered someone else about how I quit smoking while losing weight, if you would like to read it http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/2885060-post21.html
