Good Morning Everyone....

Up and out early for me, taking my nieces to get hair and makeup done at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in the MagicKingdom this am..... What have I gotten myself into lol.

DH and Ds are playing golf again.

So I need some help....I am super swollen from the heat. I am drinking as much water as I can. Should I just not worry about it? I get home on Tuesday and Wi will be Thursday. I just don't want to be derailed with a bad Wi even if it is vacation swelling.... Any experience ?

Congrats on doing so well on vacation!

I wouldn't worry about the swelling when traveling - it happens to me too and all you can really do is drink more water and watch your sodium. It should go away fairly quickly.

Good Morning Friends! I want to bring up everyone's favorite topic, the big "C". I have been struggling with it and can't help but think that it is affecting my weight loss. Even when not on the diet, I am not the most regular, but it is worse on IP. I did IP in 2012 and again now, and I am familiar with Smooth Move. It works for me, definitely "clears me out", but i feel like once I do smooth move, I can't go again until I drink the tea again. I try to only do it once a week (before weigh in), but feeling like I need to do it more in order to get rid of everything that I feel like is just sitting in my stomach, but, I don't feel like that is very healthy. I may try Benefiber or something like that to change it up a bit. Any suggestions? I also am guilty of not drinking enough water (still drinking more than I usually do, but not the suggested amount) and not always getting in my veggies. But days I am "perfect" doesn't seem to make a difference. Again, I just can't help but feel like all the food I ate in the last few days is just sitting in me, preventing me to see movement in the scale. Thanks for listening!!

I just usually have a small black coffee to help move things along every so often so I'm not much help. But definitely the veggies and water could be a contributing factor (as you know)...also if you get salads in (dark green) with olive oil added I think that is supposed to help.

TBcourt: the Big C bugs me too. I now add flax seed meal to one of my meals about every other day. It's not on protocol but I can't stand not to be able to go, so this works for me.

Good Morning!

Day 2 here. Feeling pretty good. Fighting the urge to go jump on the scale (ahh instant gratification!!).

I don't have any issues with the C - coffee drinker here - keeps everything moving along nicely! Also from past experience, definitely keep your water intake up as well as checking the amount of fiber you're taking in.

Speaking of coffee, does anyone else drink more than one cup per day? Is that okay on IP? I drink mine black so I don't see why it would matter, but you never know!

Thanks for the responses yesterday about my question regarding cucumbers - I'm not sure how someone would even cook a cucumber, but that's cool! I'll use them in my two cups at lunch/dinner and as a filler if I'm still hungry.

Hope everyone has a great one ... off to make my breakfast chocolate shake/smoothie.

I'm not a coffee drinker but maybe I should try it! I may try to force it down once just to see if it works! Thanks for all the advice!

Good Morning All!

I really don't have a problem with "the Big C" but have to spend a little more time in the restroom. The days of my ninja skills are gone (I used to be in and out). I will say, for some reason unknown to me that the RTD Mango drink is delicious but the two times I drank it for my afternoon snack my stomach was TERRIBLY upset come night fall. Like horrible. What made it worse was that I was at a friend's house. I have 2 RTD Mango drinks in my stock so I guess when "the Big C" creeps up again and last for a day or two, I will just drink one of those RTD Mango drinks. I have no idea what is in it that upsets my tummy but it definitely helped alleviate the other problem.

Two mugs of black coffee every day (even through P1-3) but since it is black with no sweetener and I drink more water than the basic 8 cups, there wasn't a problem.

Kissi: Ninja skills hahahaha! I've never been a Ninja, but mainly because I always put interesting reading material in my bathroom and then I get carried away reading the articles.

PghGal... there's a recipe I put on here for a veal stew with fresh dillweed and cucumber in it. It's very yummy. Can't remember which thread it's in now. Also I've seen cuke thrown into a stirfry at the end (just to warm it). Not very common to cook cukes tho.

I drink a whole pot of coffee every morning mixed with my RTD drink. Lots of water to follow.

TB Court- I have a similar digestive system where I am not regular no matter what the diet. My naturopath suggested drinking smooth move or taking a colon relaxer three times a week on a schedule to make sure Im keeping it all moving. I found the triple leaf tea-herbal laxative variety (sold at natural grocers) works more consistently than smooth move and is not as harsh

sgrealtor- putting lemon in your water can help with swelling...
My girls loved the bippidi boppidi boutique- most especially the fact that everyone referred to them as 'princess' while they were in the park afterward.
TBCourt- sometimes Vitamin C can help. Not sure if they're still around but IP used to sell Vitamin C water enhancers that were quite good... but the regular old pills work too...
pghgal- welcome and I look forward to sharing this journey with you!
I had a chocolate shake this morning too... Was kicking myself a bit because after I'd prepared some cold coffee, rounded up some ice from the freezer in the garage and measured out a cup of spinach I went to grab my chocolate shake packet only to realize that I didn't have one- I had opted for the RTD instead and forgot . Used it in lieu but it wasn't quite the same...

Good morning everyone!

Liana....good luck on your video! Lovely new pic!!!!!

The Big C issues.....yes, coffee drinker here and seems to help A LOT! I do add an extra 8 oz of water for every cup I drink (between 2-3 cups daily). Phillips caplets (just magnesium) seems to do the trick for me if I really get in a bind!

Kissi....no fun to have an upset tummy....at least you know your "secret weapon" for the Big C!!

PishPosh...very interesting your thought on doing a few days of P2. I've been reading an old thread here "Life after P1"....very long but VERY imformative and helpful. A few ladies discussed the same experience I am having.

Today I was down to 131 (just weighed to see how much it "stuck" and was 132 dressed and after breakfast and extra coffee. I also feel like I am losing inches really quickly.....that's crazy since I was losing about 1.5 lbs a week the last few weeks on P1.

So, I can see where P2 can be a catalyst for people who may be at a stall or VERY near goal. I almost skipped my last 4 oz of meat last night, but ate them after reminding myself that I am seeing the biggest loss that I've had since the first week on IP.

According to MyFitnessPal, my protein is up from P1, my fat is up and my carbs are down. Maybe that was just the better balance for me?

Anyway, seeing the loss makes me motivated to tackle this final week of P2. I like having a little extra weight off knowing that I will be gaining water weight back when I start adding more carbs in.

Have a great day everyone!
