I'm taking just a generic brand. Biotin is the actual vitamin (like A, B, C, etc.) You can get it at any drug store. I'm taking 1000 mcg (1mg) daily.

I've been taking Biotin for a long time and I recently upped from 1000 mg/day to 5000/mg a day when I started this diet. My hair is short and natural so I'd be temporarily bald for real if I lost a bunch of hair in a clump.

I have several wigs though so I would survive.

I'm taking Natrol Biotin. It's 10,000 mcg per day.

Smile Just notice it this week

I am also just starting my 4th month of IP and suddenly the front patch of my normally thick hair is showing some serious scalp.
I'm going out today to get some Biotin, but yeah, I get it... what woman wants to be thinning?? Like we don't already have enough body-image issues!
Oh well, one problem at a time right?
I think right now, I'll keep telling myself that the positives of weight loss is outweighing the negatives of hairloss. (Mind you if I'm bald in a month I may regret that decision!! LOL)

I noticed hair loss around month 3 and started biotin 2500mcg/day. Think it slowed the progression of the loss. Coincidentally, yesterday had a conversation about hair loss with a friend of mine who had cancer and lost all of her hair and is still taking chemo on a maintenance basis (for the next year at least).

She mentioned it seemed that more of her hair was coming in quicker. Seems that not all hair strands start growing at once. Her doctor told her to use a special shampoo, Nioxin. She thinks its working. Here's some info I found on it. I have no idea how valid this is, but in my eyes, its worth a try:
