1. I want all my grown children and their children to be happy and healthy.
2. I want these boobs to shrink and my butt to match.
You can be debt free, but you have to really make a conscious effort to eliminate your debt. You might have to go without for a while.
Pay off the ones with the highest interest rate first and make your way through the list. If you come into some cash, call your creditors and negotiate. It does happen, my son did it.
I would love to be able to bend over to paint my toenails.
I want to learn how to work metal for jewelry
I want to feel confident and outgoing again, and make new friends!
When we were dating I used to love wearing his clothes (trackies in winter and long t-shirts) around the house, its a huge comfort thing for me (security) and since I am losing the security blanket of fat (fat makes me invisible) I figure getting into his pants might help with that feeling of safety
My main goals are a bunch of activities around art and music. I've managed to get myself started in lots of directions, so my main goal really is to get past myself and actually do them. I tend to sit and around and wish I was doing them, but somehow I am unable to get myself going. My real goal is to get past my feeling that I have to be perfect, and let myself be vulnerable and *do* stuff. On that note, off to cram for my music lesson this morning - because I never manage to get to any practicing.
1. To finish up my Masters/Teaching Certification program and to get a full-time teaching position so I can be financially independent from my husband. It drives me nuts that have to depend on someone for money (even though he is my husband).
2. To be a mom. We've been trying for a while, with no luck, so I'm hoping that happens soon.
3. Even though this is weight related, I would like to be able to wear a bikini. Even if it's only for one time. It's on my list of things to do before I turn 30.
- I would love to travel more!
- and meet the love of my life & live happily ever after
- adopt some new hobbies (artsy or crafty)
- regain my self-confidence (pretty tied to weight though, since my self esteem is somewhat linked to my appearance)
This is a great thread! There's definitely a connection between the weight coming off and hope for the future returning, even in areas that technically have nothing to do with weight or health.
It was really hard to turn 50 last fall, and be seriously overweight for the first time in my life. Also, after 29 years spent raising a family & doing lots of volunteer work, I've been taking small steps toward turning my hobby & lifelong passion, interior design, into a business. After so long working 'for free', having the courage & confidence to do this has been difficult, but I'm slowly making progress. As the weight comes off, and I can see 'me' again when I look in the mirror, I am so much more confident & excited about the future! Looking forward to a new career, a new me, and seeing my amazing kids happy & successful in their lives!!
What we are accomplishing with IP goes so much deeper than what we see on the scale and in the mirror, and I'm so thankful to have 'friends for the journey'!
I would like to be less shy. I have allowed my weight to keep me from being outgoing. I feel outgoing on the inside but I know that is not how I come off because of the insecurity of being overweight. Also I would love to start running and make it a habit b/c I do get the runners high and it is amazing.
OH! I forgot to add-I want to run a marathon. I figure once I get to my goal I am going to start running again. The idea being that it won't aggravate my knee since I won't be weighing as much. Taking it nice and slow and start marathon training a year or so after I start running again (with 5k and 10k under my belt). Good news is my sister is graduating in May with her PT PhD and will be able to work with me when I get there for a stretching/strength training regiment to help prevent any knee issues.
Mine are sort of linked to weight loss but oh well:
I want to wear the size 9 pants in my closet (it's been 4 years!)
I want to wear a bikini for the first time in my life
I want to really shape/tone up so that I ride my horse better and do well in our upcoming shows this year!
