I really want to be confident performing on stage. I'm a singer and I know I could make it as a pro if I wanted (I'm quite good...*head inflates alot*...) but I struggle to perform as my confidence as very low.

There are several but here's the first one that pops into my head:

Have a closet full of smaller-size clothes again and that ANY time I walk into that closet my biggest problem will be deciding WHAT to wear, not WHAT will fit!

Default New Goal!

I signed up for a motorcycle class today! I've only been on a motorcycle one time in my life! My husband has one and I rode on it last weekend and now I want my own. He said he would sell the extra camper if I want one. I just couldn't imagine my butt on a bike seat before with the 40 lbs that are now GONE. What a visual! I'm not wearing the chaps with the butt cut out though, that would not be pretty!

1. I want my house done, inside and out. We've been remodeling this house on and off for 10 years, I am ready for it to be DONE!
2. Finish my accounting degree, then go back and get a degree for something completely different like interior design.
3. Learn how to play the guitar well. I can play some now, but not very well.

Default Visions of the future

Okay, here are some goals related to my weightloss, but they are not tied to any number or size (sorry, that's how I heard the question).
  1. To ride the Zipper at an amusement park without fear that I can't secure the lap belt.
  2. To feel sexy when naked
  3. To swing from a trapeze at circus school
  4. To try out for a flat track roller derby team
  5. To not be the last of the group while hiking
  6. To not be afraid to talk because I fear nobody wants to talk to the fat girl
  7. To wear high heels longer than one hour
  8. To ride comfortably in the middle seat on an airplane
  9. To drive a go cart because I can fit into the seat
  10. To not fear an adventure because it involves a harness or a jumpsuit

You know, little things (haha)

This is a great thread! Thanks for starting it. I will have to look at this list every time I stare a brownie in the face.

Wow, this is such a great idea. There are other things to look forward to during and after we reach our goals!

I would like to:

-go to nursing school
-feel great in a two piece bikini
-grow my hair long before I'm too old for long hair
-learn how to play guitar
-learn how to speak spanish

A lot, I know, but totally do-able!

Default Wow, what great goals!

To have have a healthy BMI.
To feel good about myself again, mentally and physically.
To finish nursing school.
To run "like the wind" like I did when I was 40 pound lighter.
To finish the local 1/2 marathon in under 2 hours.
To be a good role model for girls who are struggling with their place in today's society through "Girls on the run"

so many more, but, I will stop here!

Thanks again for all of the inspiration!

Default My goals!

This is a very inspiring thread and I thank you for starting it!

Some of my goals are weight loss related but not all. I was injured OTJ in 09/2007 and now have a permanent disability involving my lower back. I know losing this weight is going to alleviate some of the pain from that injury and that's what I'm looking forward to the most!

I'd like to get my Bookkeeping certification and start my own business.
Put more time into pursuing my religious goals.
Spend as much time as possible with my 3 children and my grandson who will arrive August!
Get a part time job to help get us out of debt.
Start lifting weights at the gym again.
Go on a 3 or 4 day backpacking trip without struggling.

And SMILE more!

- Get rid of the eat=guilty feeling
- Run half a marathon by the end of August (already working on that one)
- Go to the gym again for weight lifting and classes
- Get back to 100 pounds loss
- Canoe/hike/run/climb as much as I want because I can now
- Get a motorcycle (and not ride my husband's one as I did before the kids)

I dream of a wardrobe full of clothes that I love. I hate shopping and instead of looking for what I like, I look for whats left in my size. I can't WAIT to LOVE my clothes!

I'm not actually doing IP. I guess I should have been more sensitive to where this thread was posted. I just saw it and loved it and had to post lol. How about this, let's raise our water ... we all drink water no matter which plan we follow

I 100% agree with you on number six!! I've had that issue for as long as I can remember. I am trying REALLY hard to be more involved in things so that I am FORCED to interact with people, but still find myself afraid to talk and afraid to offer my opinion on anything. I always feel like people are judging me for being big. I coached my daughter's cheerleading squad (all 6&7 year olds) last fall because there was no-one else to do it. In the beginning I was scared to DEATH. What will these mom's think? Someone like me coaching cheerleading? How could she possibly do a good job or know ANYTHING about it? You know what though? I ended up loving every minute of it and I was actually good at it. By the end of the season, the parents and athletic staff were telling me that my little girls did a better job than the older ones and would I please coach again next season. Now, I can't wait for fall.

Awesome thread! Your goals are all worthwhile and do-able!! I live on a golf course. It's like living in a fishbowl!!! I want to be able to do yard work and swim in my own pool without worrying about who is standing nearly in my yard watching. My family can't understand why I've never been in our pool (I love to swim). Maybe this is the summer I'll finally use it!

I want to feel like I'm in my 20s not my 50s. I want to skydive. I want to run another half marathon, then a marathon and a triathalon. Plus I don't want to carry a lot of weight when I do either.

Great topic, I would love to do a triatholon, but for now I'm going to start small and train for a 5k :0)

Semi-weight related:

1) Feel comfortable in my own skin.
2) Wear shorts without wondering what everyone else is thinking.
3) Get rid of the eat = guilt (stole that from someone else, but I can totally relate).
4) To look forward to shopping for a new dress, and then look forward to the outing wearing the dress. I currently shudder at the thought of formal occasions.

Lifestyle related...

1) Go minimalist in everything, not just the closet. It has been very freeing to have very few clothes.
2) Take piano lessons. A teacher ruined that for me when I was 11.
3) Go camping, hiking, and swimming more. Be more of an outdoor person.
4) Get over my fear of canoes... (they are "tippy")

For those of you who want to weigh what it says on your driver's license, I just realized that VA does not require a weight on the DL. I was wondering why I didn't have any anxiety about that. Not sure if that is good or bad, but there it is. BTW, my current DL expires on my birthday this year. I WILL be getting a new photo when I hit goal and I WILL look fabulous this November when I turn 40.
