I think the problem with sugar cravings or having a sweet tooth is avoiding sugar too much causing your blood sugar levels to drop rapidly and then your body sends a panic message to your brain for sugar then you start craving all the unhealthy sugary junk. So this is just my opinion but I think the key is to keep your blood sugar stable throughout the day by having some sugar like in tea or coffee or self made juice and having fruits several times a day. Some sugar is ok, we just don't need the crazy amount of sugar in one serving of regular soft drink.
I love dates and raisins. Lots of sweetness and yes, calories from the sugar but I find I don't need a lot to be satisfied. Also, what about the dessert gums?? My favourite is Chocolate Chip Mint. Oh, and frozen grapes-sooo good
