hey gang

I'm still alive... just haven't been in here. it's been a crazy time for me and mine!

my sons got married in august and december and then my hubby had to have his mitral heart valve replaced on january 12 in houston, texas. the surgery ended up being complicated and its a GOOD thing we went to houston!!!

he is healing well from the surgery but has had one problem after the other, mainly from the meds and heart damage (the valve should have been replaced long ago but we didn't know) and also has an infection from the catheter. just lots of fun stuff. tomorrow will be 4 weeks and he is not near where we think he should be but its only 4 weeks out of a 12 week recovery soooooo we are just taking it one day at a time.

right now, life is my exercise. i haul wood every day with a wheel barrell from the back of our property and there are times when i lift my hubby's upper body since he can't use his arms while his chest is healing. i have to help him do everything. of course, he HATES feeling helpless but its just the way things have to be done until his chest and breastbone are healed.

i will get back to my early morning walks with Leslie... but for now.... I'm just surviving and leaning on God!

how is every body doing in here?

Oh, Cathy, it is so good to hear from you. My dh has similar problems although his is from hip and knee replacement. He also has afib and chronic lymphocitic leukemia which he hardly thinks about now.
