Question for all of you....do you combine 30DS with any other cardio workouts? I enjoy the workouts but feel like I need to add a little extra cardio if I really want to reach my goal at the end of the month.

Today was Day 19 for me. I guess I'll do one more day at Level 2.
I am really amazed at the difference in my endurance and strength in 19 days!

I am combining the 30DS with either biking, walking, or 30 min. on my exercise bike daily. I am very satisfied with the rate of my weight loss and feel like the 30DS is helping with toning and strength while the extra cardio is burning the fat.

I just started 30DS this morning (again). I used 5 lb. weights with Level 1. I can't say I did every move, but I did 90% of them.

Those lateral lifts with side lunges kill me!

I also have trouble with the stationary jump rope move because of some feet issues, so I jogged in place instead.

I'm going to combine walking with this video.

ladolcevita26: I do the Shred and a TON of biking. Sometimes, the days I have off, I'll throw in some other work out like Zumba or Tae Bo. I do know it's a myth that if you aren't sore at the end of a work out, that you didn't do it right. So, if you think you don't feel it the next morning, it doesn't mean you aren't getting the full effect. I've lost a LOT of inches so far, and I have to say that Jillian does push you.

NCchickie: It's amazing how every day does get SO much easier. I can't wait until I get threw all 30 days and start again. Thinking "why was this ever so hard?"

cinlo The lateral lifts kill me too. I had to really push the last few days waiting for it to stop. It gets easier. I SWEAR!

Level two is getting a little easier. But you know it's hard when one of the girls on the video cheats! Planks are getting rough for me. I'm trying to do the advanced version, but keep falling back to the easy version instead.
Going to get waist measurements again next Wednesday! Hopefully inches have disappeared! I was pleased with how many inches I lost last time...

Thanks for the welcomes!

Ladolcevita: I combine it with Zumba dancing and biking. Eventually it will be with running, but my joints aren't up to it yet. I also do pilates 2-3 days each week as well.

Today I did not do the shred. My bike got fixed (flat tire). I went for a 15.5mile bike ride. I will be doing pilates shortly. I am planning to do shred tomorrow and sunday which are my restdays. But that is all I will do, nothing else with it.

You guys got some ideas for household weights other than cans, that are a bit narrower to hold? I'm having trouble holding onto my 28 ounce cans. Plus I'd like to up the weight to 2-3lbs.

Guys, thanks for the tip on 10 days. I didn't really think about 30 days, 3 levels = 10 days DUH!

Day 14 of Shred COMPLETE!
I did it yesterday too, and I don't remember if it was day 13 or 14 yesterday... so I'm saying it was 13. I'd rather an extra day...

Weights aren't that pricey. I got two 3 lbs for about $6 at K-mart. They have 5lbs for about $4 /ea. If you wanted to save the money though, you could try a bottle of water? Perhaps even fashion a weight with a sturdy rod of some kind...
OR!
Toilet Paper rolls? Fill them with rocks or something... TAPE the crud out of it and see if that works. ...

<.<
>.>

I'm really no use here, am I?

I started Level 3 today. It was really hard.
I'm going to try it again tomorrow and see if it's any better.
If not, I may just spend another week or so on Level 2.
I'll get there! If not tomorrow, then next week!

NCchickie: No worries if you stick with a different level. Level 2 is rough, I'm finally getting use to it, but I am SCARED of level three. I might move back to level 2 if I needed to as well. At least we are trying!

Day 16 DONE!
Almost to level 3..

Today will be DAY 1 for me. I just had a really good, perfectly proportioned lunch! So proud of myself. I work from 430am-1pm so I usually just get a pastry and a drink from Starbucks. But I made a half sandwich last night and packed strawberries, grapes, and nuts to go with it. Felt great to not overeat and not get a sugar rush!!

Well it looks like this is going to be harder than I thought. I did two days consecutively and was too sore so I took the third day off. Guess I'll keep doing two days on and then rest until my body catches up. I have to keep reminding myself that it doesn't matter how quickly I progress, but that I just keep trying.

Also those side lunges with lat raises are evil. I'm shocked by how much of a beating my abs can take and I can do more pushups then I ever thought possible, but that move kills me.

Hi there!

I am still doing the Shred, but have been also doing some running intervals and other cardio/weight training on days off. It has been a couple of days now since I've done it, so I am eager to see how my other training will affect my endurance for level 1.

I should have known that I could never stick to something for 30 straight days, but I do like the videos so I will keep them in my variety pack.

I am encouraged to see how well you guys are all doing! It gives me hope that I'll be able to do the later levels, too!

I haven't decided if I will do it today or not. I'm pretty tired out from the weekend and I did take a 10mile bike ride today. I may just skip today and do it tomorrow with some pilates and zumba. Not sure yet though. I might get a "second wind"

Day 16... and I'm currently attempting to do more quests on Fitocracy. XD
Must make points!

Annie415sf Welcome to the group? How did day one go?

patootie You're right! Just keep trying it doesn't matter how long it takes, just that you make an effort! Those side lunges and lateral raises KILLED me as well. They get easier though >< You just have to REALLY push.

BeachBreeze2010 Always happy to add encouragement. I do other excercises as well, but I always get ready to go to bed and just think, "It's only 25 minutes... I can do it today too XD"

Hey Ladies. I am back! Did level 2 day 6 today. Today is the first day that it actually went ok. Still am going to try to do it for at least 12 days, but feeling a little bit better. Was up a bit on my weigh-in this week, but had a rough weekend. Got home late tonight and still did 30DS! whoop. Got to get up and do it tomorrow! Lets all get it in tomorrow!
