I agree 100% - For me it's about control... When you are "driving the boat" and are "on your game".. I feel invincable...

For me it's more a matter of what is under control. For instance, I keep lists of what is in my freezers so food doesn't languish in there. I give my DH and kids a list of favorite meals about once every two weeks, then go shopping to get what we'll need to make that. Then I'm much less likely to pull out some carb laden casserole from the freezer. Or I'm prepared to add extra frozen veggies to the casserole and then add a salad as well.

My worst time was when my son went off to college. I gained 5 pounds on a cruise we took him on for spring break, 5 pounds that summer cooking his favorite foods (he's 5'9" and 115 pounds!), and 5 more during his (my) stressful first semester of transitions.

My daughter leaves in 5 months fro college and I vow not to repeat the problem...hence my joining this site.
