Rosinante, I really have to fight the hibernation inclination this time of the year. I am sleeping longer and am fighting myself for an indoor exercise routine, ugh! Always a process. Hang in there and walk when you can.
Hi Workinlikeadog
We are in the almost identical weight loss boat.I too am 5'6" and want to get to 150. I am really struggling with stress eating today. It is a sunday and I am working and that makes me want to eat sugar. I couldve exercised on my treadmill last eve, because it was raining and cold outside, but I ate chinese and slept on couch. This time of year is difficult to find indoor routines because I love running and hiking outdoors. Best of luck in reaching your goal. I already added in myfitnesspal that I would run for 1 hour on my treadmill tonight so I hope I have the will to do it.
merowi2, Hoping you have broken your stress eating. Come join us with a small habit change, it just might help get you aligned better for losing weight. If I am not to lose before the end of the year, my goad is to not gain weight this fall. I am a few pounds higher, so hoping to shake those pounds soon. One step/day at a time!
Oct-01: 3.7 mile walk

Well, that was shameful for October
There have been some tough times, not least because my mother (aged 96) was not well, then hospitalized. It's not the easiest journey to get to visit, and I haven't got the steps in that I should. And I've eaten like a waste disposal. And I so don't want to have to focus on re-losing; but I will. I will try. x
(ps, she gets discharged today!)
Rosinante, At least you did not stop moving altogether, so give yourself some merci as you move through this challenging time. Will your mom be able to care for herself when she is discharged or are you a caregiver? As for eating like a waste disposal, this will change at some point too. Is there pampers you can give yourself that are non-food. I use to have a list, darn, may have to help with a new list. How about painting your toe nails or finger nails with a cheerful color. You and your mom will be in my prayers.
Thank you for your kind words, wla!
Mother still not released yet, aiming for Monday now. She's been living in a Care Home for 4 years now - out of 80 residents, she's the 2nd longest-serving member! She chose to go in herself, she wasn't "put", which helps.
Still not eating properly but did practise denying myself something yesterday (additional and unnecessary toast and butter, I think) so hopefully I can build on that today.
Dropping by to update my stats and do some catching up. Rosinante, your messages caught my eye. My father passed at age 93 two years ago (this February). Prior to his passing he took a tumble out of bed, was in the hospital, a care center and then back home with daily assistance. I am fortunate to have three siblings so we worked together to make things as comfortable as we could for dad. A big to you as your messages seem to be written with a heavy, concerned heart. Elder care is both emotionally and physically draining so I can only echo the words encouragement by others on this thread--be gentle with yourself; take care of yourself. Glad to hear that your mom is doing better and is set for release. Something you both can look forward to!

Don't know if I will make my mileage goal for the year. To this point I have only been counting the miles of intentional exercise I have done but I may start to include my steps throughout the day to see if I can make my 1000 miles goal for the year.
Nov-20: 2.37 mile walk
November Total: 2.37 miles exercise
2016 Total: 768.56 miles
