Well I got back from camping Monday evening and it was wonderful!

Day 1: Friday evening - I walked for 30 minutes, and then a couple of other short walks.
Day 2: Saturday - I went on a 2 hour hike and another 1 hour walk. It was great and I was exhausted and sore!
Day 3: Sunday - I did a 1 hour hike and a couple of short walks like 15 - 20 minutes each. Lots of exercise and soreness, but I feel like it got me back on track.
Day 4: Monday - I didn't formally exercise because we packed up and came home and then unpacked and put everything away. So I guess this day doesn't count?
Day 5: Tuesday - Isn't really day 5 is it? Didn't exercise, way too tired, so I guess I need to start over?

I'm going to try again.

I need to go back to no sweets, no spuds. Three pause days. I'm relieved to say that cookie table and banquet season is finally done, so maybe I will have an easier time succeeding at this new challenge.

Day 01--Wednesday, June 17: No sweets, no spuds

Hi all!

Unfortunately, I didn't manage to get in all my steps while I was on my mini-vacation. Lesson learned! Even when I don't have access to a treadmill and it's 90 plus degrees outside, I still could have been more active at the hotel. Maybe used the stairs a few times or had a solo dance party in my room.

Dr Geri and DangerousCurves Good luck on the new challenges..its a process

AshliRose it is your challenge you decide what works for you

So interesting story I've been struggling a bit with my bring lunch to work challenge, but yesterday I made sure to pack lunch and some snacks. I got in the car to go to work and it promptly died on the highway. I'm fine, my car is gone. I then had the card towed and grabbed a bus to work.. So now I've been up since 4am its 7am and haven't eaten yet. I get stick on the bus till 9 and ended up munching on my snacks...So if I hadn't packed food for lunch I would have been a very very grumpy Obie...Anyway TOM is over, the whosh happened and I'm on track to be in the 350s by the end of the month. Now I just need a car.

Obsidianbbw OUCH! loosing your car is rough. Good thing you had food with you. May you find a car that works for you.

dangerouscurves76 Walking in Air conditioning hall ways of hotels is not bad. I was able to get 3 different good walks of 20 minutes each day last time we stayed. Can't do steps. Hope your next challenge works.

Dr. Geri Those receptions, etc are a deadly threat!!! Good for regular time. Starting again is best option.

AshliRose What is great is that you are really, really trying. Your body tells you that rest is best and you listened. That is a good thing too.

June 10th - 50
June 11th - 50
June 12th - (Day 13) - 50 SU. Back from moving college son back home for the summer. Thought I'ld try to catch up, lol, you chicks have been busy!

love2, my hubby is not liking the one orange door I have finished, but it took him a while to adjust to color inside the house, I love it and can't wait to have the other doors back up(tomorrow I hope). Hope you feel back to normal tomorrow.

Ash, if you give yourself 3 pause days then Weds could be day 4 or you can start over. This challenge is for you, so whatever works for you.

Dr, Geri, good to see you back. My next challenge is going to have to go back to no p.m. eating with just myself to blame for bad habits. You can do this.

dangerous, way to just re-start - you'll get ir done this time.

Obsidian, hope today goes better for you. You can do your challenge, one day at a time.

Mag, you are doing well, keep up the good work. My situp challenge is good and will have to make my next challenge no p.m. snacking to change that ice cream eating, only stopped for one night.

LETS DO THIS

Challenge: Substituting dark chocolate and flavored tea for cookies and ice cream after dinner. I will have three pause days.

Day 1: complete (4 squares Lindt dark chocolate / cinnamon tea)
Day 2: complete (3 squares Lindt dark chocolate / iced mint tea with Splenda)
Day 3: complete (4 squares Ghirardelli Twilight Delight, one square Lindt Intense Mint / water instead of tea)
Day 4: complete (no dessert, went to bed early)
Day 5: complete (strawberries instead of chocolate, mint tea)
Day 6: complete (hanging in there! really wanted to eat a lemon popsicle tonight but opted for 4 squares of Twilight Delight, and mint tea w/Splenda)
Day 7: pause day
Day 8: complete (opted for a homemade berries/yogurt/ice smoothie)
Day 9: complete (tried a new flavor today, Lindt intense orange. Wow, it was so good, it was hard to only eat a serving size. So I am having baked cinnamon apple tea, which tastes just like apple cobbler only without the calories, yum!)
Day 10: complete (4 squares of Lindt intense orange, no tea tonight, really busy sewing!)
Day 11: complete (no dessert tonight, don't know if this day really counts as complete since I had Menchies yogurt for lunch. Hmmm. My husband tried to hand me a popsicle this evening and I refused. So maybe one cancels out the other . . . )

Good night everybody! Keep up the good work. Keep fighting the good fight! Hugs to all!

Diane, I fought for the orange cover for day bed years ago and it even landed up in the living room when we bought a house. The only real furniture we had for that room. Didn't have time to sew a new one and DH brought home beautiful corner hanging lamps, 2 in olive green and one in orange!!! Later we painted those white as we fazed out the orange and green.

Mag: Ghirardelli Twilight Delight, I just bougtht it this week, and really like it. Limiting my self to 2 squares. First time I ever was able to spread it across so many days. Usually it is gone the first day I buy it. Savored each bite, and look forward to that treat.

When I finish the 21 days of actually walking over 5,000 I shall begin again with something with walking. This is the habit I need the most.

May each of you have success in what you need and want.

I was tempted this morning to go back to bed, but am able to talk myself into a walk so today's steps will be over 5,000. If I didn't have the goal of 5,000 steps I would still be in bed.

The last two days have been hard. One of my kids put a big box of ice cream drumsticks in the freezer and I just want to pull them out and eat them. Aggg@#!!

I hope everybody has a wonderful Father's Day tomorrow!

love2garden Glad to hear that you are enjoying the twilight delight!!

Diana You are doing well too! I might just have to join you in doing situps. That would just about be a miracle for me, situps I mean. I could sure use them though.

Ash, How are you doing?

Mag, Tee, Hee, Yes this must be a miracle thread cause it got me to do 1,000 situps this month-

Love2, Yeah, gotta watch that color balance. I ended up painting the front porch benches dark gray, same as the door trim and it looks incredible now(with the orange door). DH starting to get use to the two orange doors on the back porch. There is lots of aqua in the porch cushions to balance them. I'm ready for my home decorator/color friends to come over and check the balance.

Keep up the great work everyone.

I'll be back in a few days with my new challenge.
