OMG! It's after 9 pm and I'm only at 6,000 steps!

Going to grab my sneakers and walk on the treadmill while I watch tv. I simply refuse to be a slacker on Day 2.

Hope everyone has a great night.

Day 1 5754 steps
Day 2 Already well over 5,000 and plenty of day left!
Day 3 2918 (had to rest)
Day 4 6641 (June 6)
Day 5 3812
Day 6 7395
Day 7 4037
Day 8 Walked very early, we'll see at end of day.

Having a goal does push me and I needed it. Even if I don't reach the 5,000, I'm definitely taking advantage of opportunities.

Love2garden, seeing your daily steps makes me hang my head in shame. I would not even tell you what some of mine have been. It's a disgrace. Good for you!!

My 21 day challenge is to stop night-time eating. I have 3 days under my belt and am down 2.5 lbs.

Dangerouswithcurves, I walk on my treadmill while I watch my soaps. I figure I'm going to be watching them anyway. An exception is when I clean or fold clothes while watching.

Carol Sue Good for you, 3 days down and results, wow! Remember, I don't have painful knees and that allows me to gradually become more active.

Dangerous Curves Question? Did your late night walk to reach your 10,000 steps help or interfere with sleep?

Obsidianbbw Thanks for cheering. Have you learned to eat by intuition? Heard of that and realize after seeing your note that at times that describes what I do.

I remember when our kids were teenagers, I walked each evening after supper year around with neighbor or one of our daughters. Slept fine but I was back in the house before 9:00PM

magistra17 I noticed you ate only 3 squares on day 2, was that a decision to make the amount less?

Day 1 5754 steps
Day 2 Already well over 5,000 and plenty of day left!
Day 3 2918 (had to rest)
Day 4 6641 (June 6)
Day 5 3812
Day 6 7395
Day 7 4037
Day 8 6773
Day 9 Lots of bending, planting, mulching, watering weeding, but few steps. This may end up a pause day. Will still record the steps I do get.

love2garden You are adorable. I love your question. I didn't give it much thought, but I think that I simply felt satisfied after eating 3 squares on day 2. As you see, I ate 5 squares on day 3. That's because I wanted to see how the mint tasted. I looked to see that a serving size of dark chocolate is usually 4 squares and oddly enough, that's how many I usually want to eat. So, that's lucky for me. I feel pretty satisfied with my choice; I hope I don't get bored. Maybe on pause days, I can treat myself to something else, within moderation.

Hello,

I have been struggling with getting back into a regular exercise routine. I've worked out a few times this week, but I like the idea of trying to make it a habit.

I'm going camping tomorrow for a few days and won't be on the computer until Tuesday. So.....Tomorrow will be my Day 1 of at least 20 minutes (or more of course) of exercise each day. The lease I can do is a 20 minute walk or hike each day while camping, since I'll be doing a lot of sitting, reading, and relaxing!

On Tuesday I will post my progress and what day number I'm on. This will be a fun challenge!

Thanks everyone!

Love2Garden Yup, i'm an intuitive eater, just like anything it doesn't always work. I have a list of foods I know I can eat (low carb) and I generally eat till I'm satisfied and stop. Generally it works, I have weird issues like I've learned if there are chips and dip I'll keep going past being satisfied. I just learned that recently so they're banned for right now. I hate counting carbs or calories. It makes me crazy and generally this works if I stick to what I know is ok to eat and stop when I'm satisfied.

Bring Breakfast or Lunch to work. I'm gonna add to this. At least 4 cups of water a day. It isn't much but I've noticed I haven't been drinking water.

Day 1 : Lunch - Done
Day 2 : Lunch - Done
Day 3: pause/cheat day (1) I didn't prep for the challenge and its cheat day so back on Monday. I have started my grocery list for next week
Day 4 : Pause - food poisoning. I'm thinking I'm going to run out of pause days, but I 'm going to continue and next time try and do better
Day 5 : Tuna Fish - was up late making this so I would have something
Day 6 : Brought in paleo coconut curry chicken.
Day 7 : Another bowl of paleo coconut curry chicken, tomorrow will be tuna fish and I think I need two dishes a week since two days in a row is my limit on eating the same thing.

Day 8 : pause Not feeling well for a whole host of reasons, also I don't think I'm eating enough. I broke a rule and had a piece of bread yesterday with dinner and I actually felt refreshed. Typically I haven't been having a full meal for dinner. I just wasn't that hungry. Its that TOM. I haven't craved bread in a good long while and this is my first TOM eating right and working out, so it has been interesting and not in the fun way. So I think we're going to play it by ear. I just had water with a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to settle my stomach. Right now I'm craving salad so that will be lunch rather than tuna fish which doesn't sound appetizing at all and was my original plan. Follow up, so I can't eat big carbs or at least not in any great quantity. I used the card to recover from the food poisoning and they in turn just made my tummy bubbly and not happy. now i'm all bloated. I feel better overall right now, so hoping next week goes better. Changing day 8 to a pause day..blah. Annoyed I've had 3 pause days already, but hoping it gets better.

I also hate counting calories. Agree also that chips and salsa are so tempting I've avoided Mexican Restaurants in past few months and don't have any chips at home.

Knee is sore, may have to baby it. Knee replacement surgery is in my future and yesterday's bending, planting, twisting, etc may have aggravated it. Got a good book any how.
