Mel, any loss is good. In fact, even a week or two of maintaining is nothing to sneeze at! You're doing great, hon.
Lesley, good for you, too!! I hear ya re: the water. It really makes a huge difference.
Jodi, hang in there, sweetie... I know you'll be back in here soon.
I'm pretty pleased with myself. I haven't weighed in about five weeks since I had a major depressive episode and temporarily quit "dieting" and exercising. I finally decided to let them weigh me at my clinic last week, and I am thrilled to announce that I have maintained my 13 pound loss! I was really surprised... I figured I would have gained 3 or 4 pounds back, so I am one happy chick!!
Good for you Ellis!
And all you other Loosers...great job!
Im down 1.6 lbs. BP is high though but that too hopefully will be down on Wed when I check in.
I'm trying to lose weight and get some control. I lost 13 pounds the 1st week, this is my 2nd week i'll be getting weighed either Friday or Monday. Looking forward to it.
Good luck to everyone trying to lose and congrats to all that did.
Did the dumpest thing,,,went to our staff BBQ,,,ate alot. Then went to weigh in,,,hmmm wonder why I showed a gain of 2 lbs?
The week before I barely ate,,,stress and no time. This week I have this urge to eat more,,,way more then I should... and it showed on the scale. This compulsion to make up for my week before of not eating enough. My Dr. knows Im aware of this,,,and we had a good talk...I felt better,,,and will have to continue just eating more small meals during the day.
Good to see so many that are loosing...I will be called a looser too...*smile
Congratulations losers way to go. I hope to join you soon.
sat fat n da furious I have done the same thing many times. Lost then because I lost ate more and gained. {{{Sigh}}} it is a continuing battle.
ScooterGirl how many small meals do you eat? I guess we each have to find our own way of doing this. I would think that eating more meals would lead to more chances of over eating. Or do you find it does the opposite that if you don't let yourself get too hungry and are not ravenous then you won't feel the need as much to over eat. Curious how this works for you.
So what do ya'll think....today my "new" scale says 196. Last week at the gym the scale said 198. So thats a pretty normal/average 2 lbs a week. The number in my sig is going by my old scale that I've had since my son was born (he's 5 now LOL). Would I be cheating myself if I adjusted my sig to the 196? I suppose I could adjust my starting weight to like 220 since my old scale appears to be off by like 4 or 5 lbs......I dont know.....I think I'll leave it, I know at one point my old scale did read 230 something or other UGH
Yay for Angie and Kokomo on your losses! I am stuck! I haven't even lost a pound in like two weeks now! Grrrrr But at least I'm not gaining anything!
Kokomo: I eat 6 meals. Well I guess there are only three real meals but then I snack three times a day too. Not big snacks. It keeps me from getting sooo hungry that I want to eat everything in sight. I was really noticing the difference the other day when I was busy and couldn't eat for like 6 hours. When I ate again I wanted to eat a whole cow!
