Talking Awesome Chocolate Milkshake - All Phases

Chocolate Milkshake
All Phases. One serving. Recipe by Kathy Sill.

1/2 cup part-skim or low fat ricotta cheese
1/2 to 2/3 cup skim milk
2 teaspoons cocoa powder
3 packets Splenda
1/2 teaspoon caffeine-free instant coffee
Splash of vanilla (1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon, to taste)
Ice (as much as it takes to make a nice thick icy shake)

Put all ingredients in a blender, and blend until thoroughly mixed.

From Tracy:
This was today's breakfast, absolutely satisfying.. thick and smooth YUM!

I used Dutch Processed Cocoa powder for this..
I also added 1 scoop of protien powder for extra nutritional benefit.
I ended up using the 2/3 Cup Skim Milk

*I tried to run this through FitDay.com but it totally confused me *

I made this as written on sunday but found it kind of gritty cause of the cocoa. So I made it today for lunch with sf chocolate syrup. It is much better I think. Awesome either way to be able to have a chocolate milkshake!!

I also made this drink for the first time this am. Very good.

I took 1 tablespoon cocoa and mixed in with the 1/2 cup ricotta. I blended well and let sit overnite. This way the ricotta and cocoa are not gritty. Then in the morning I added 1/2 cup choc almond milk, 1/4 cup whipping cream, 1/4 water, 1 cup coffee, 1 scoop protein powder, 3 splenda. Put in blender with ice. Very good.

Excuse me while I go get a knapkin.. I think I drooled a little while reading this! Minus the Splenda it looks amazing! I'm hoping to start SBD soon so I'm trying to get a jump on recipes, etc and this looks delicious!

It was pretty good. I just wish my blender was better. But anything is better then eggs for breakfast! It definitely feels like I'm cheating.

PB2 contains sugar and is not SBD safe in any phase. Sorry

Thanks. I did know that. I should have made a note that says I'm a peanut butter lover and choose to use PB2 to keep the fat/calories in check in exchange for the 1g of sugar per 2 tblsp.

No problem Mandy Lots of newbies visit the recipes and we try to make sure they fit the Phase they are listed under.

Very yummy! I still have 4 days on Phase 1 And I am so sick of eggs.

This is fast and easy and so tasty. Thanks very much!

ETA: I used Stevia as a sweetener, though.

Made this earlier today and started drinking it, and I liked the taste. Then for kicks I added 2 handfuls of Spinach leaves...surprisingly I enjoyed it a little more! Definitely a keeper!

Oh - thanks for sharing that! I make this a lot and have always wanted to try a "green" drink and never thought to combine the two.
