I think Australian and British sizes are fairly compariable in that a 10UK = a 10 Aus.

An Aussie 8 is usually a US 4/6, a 10 Aus = US 6/8 etc etc...

I don't know if thats much help lol.

Perhaps if you found a size chart that had measurements on it as well? Generally the measurements are in inches and it may be able to help you a little more. If you google search for them there are a few that will come up.

This appears to be a US one http://fevervintage.com/sz.htm in which i'd actually be a US 2 *shrugs* Go figure lol.

Here is one that has US and UK sizings on it http://www.hottopic.com/services/size_chart.asp?LS=5&

I can't speak for the whole country but I consider 16-14 large, 12-8 med, and 8-4 small. 4-0 is very, very small. 18+ is xl. As for desired size... I have no idea. Different people have different attachments to certain sizes -- the size they were in high school, the size their skinny sister is, etc. For me, I'd like to be a 10, but a lot of people try to lose weight when they reach a 10! *shrug*

For the different cultures in America size perception can also differ. I know people who think that a size 16 is the perfect size and anything smaller is too small. It's all sbout who you are talking to.

According to most of the stores I go to (in the US) 16=XL, 12-14=L, 8-10=M, 4-6=S, 0-2=XS.

My desired size would be an 6-8 (or smaller!!!)
