This is going to sound really silly, but what is hummus anyway?

it's a creamy dip made with chick peas and garlic. It's soooo good! Mmm I always have a dish of it in the fridge so that I can snack on it if I get the urge to snack. It's great will all kinds of veggies too!

It's very easy to make too.
I soak dried chick peas (very cheap) overnight then put them in the crock pot until they are tender. In a food processor or blender blend them smooth with lemon juice and garlic to taste. If you want it more authentic, add tahini (sesame paste) but it is high in fat.
I do the same with other beans too, right now I have a kidney bean, garlic, and taco seasoning spread that is wonderful.

the roasted garlic hummus is VERY good, too. I love it on celery, as well.

I'm going to have to google hummus...I really want to know what it is specifically...I've heard a lot about it. If you guys say it's yummy it has to be good!
I wonder what aisle it's in?
