I tried on my size 10 jeans and was able to get 'em on and zipped up. They're still a bit tight in some places so I'm not comfortable wearing them in public, but my size 12s are getting a bit baggy. Guess I'm at the in-between- a-size stage, but that's okay with me.
Congrats, Sheila! You are pretty much at my goal weight. If you don't mind my asking, how tall are you? Size 10/12 is my size goal, so I was just wondering how tall you are in order to get a feel for the height/weight for size. Trust me, I know everyone is different. I'm just curious. Sorry if my question is confusing...
That's awesome Shelia good job.
I had the same question as Scarlettdrawl. Its funny because a coworker and I were talking about weight today and I had said that I would love to be in a single sylbol, double digit size. Which of course is a twelve.
Anway. Congrats!!
Yesterday I had a burger and fries for lunch..normally I would let that ruin my day and just binge the rest of the day. But, not yesterday! I actually only ate a salad, yogurt w/ rasperries afterward. I was SO proud of myself!
Good job, Lilybug!
Accepting that your burger and fries was just one meal, and nothing more than just one meal, is a real victory. I consider getting rid of the "all or nothing" mentally to be one of the keys to long-term success.
I took my measurements this morning for the first time since the New Year:
2 March 2006
Bust: 41.5" -1.5 Waist: 32.5" -1.5 Hips: 44" No Change Height: 5' 4" No Change (Weight: 184 lbs)
My waist:hip ratio is below 0.75. It was 0.82 when I started last year, and used considerably higher figures.
Even though I haven't quite made my 250 goal for this yet (TOM and water weight are foiling me), I have actually begun a running program! Hence the new avatar and motto next to my posts, and the new slider in my weight tracker.
I am using Cool Running's "Couch to 5K" program, which starts you out with a little jogging interspersed with lots of walking, and gradually works you up to more and more running. The key is slow and steady increases, and rest in between runs so your body can get used to this new activity.
I can't even do a full 60 seconds of jogging yet, but I've gone out three times, jogging a little more each time. And last night I went to a running store and got professionally-fitted running shoes. My cross trainers weren't up for the job.
I was determined that when I hit 250 pounds, I'd challenge myself physically. I'm not quite ready for Roller Blading, which was my first thought. So I'm hitting the sidewalks running! It's very exciting so far.
How awesome Synger! I have been wanting to try jogging and then maybe work up to running, maybe I'll check out that program.
I hadn't thought of this as a NSV,but I guess it is I can actually see a muscle in my arm when I flex! I had never thought about seeing any definition in my body like that.I want to flex it all the time now, lol. Now if only more of the fat around it would go away...I'd be able to see more of it
Synger, that's wonderful! In no time, you'll be jogging more than walking.
Zoritsa, that's an awesome NSV! Seeing those muscles for the first time is an incredible feeling. Makes all that hard work worthwhile.
I'm 5'9" tall, by the way, for the two of you who asked. Frenchie, I've had to replace a lot of clothing starting from the sz. 22 that I used to wear--consignment and thrift stores are a must for me. Getting out of the plus sizes felt so good!
