100 lb. Club - I think its about time we catch up...
12-08-2005, 02:23 AM
Oh you guys, I've missed you SO much. I can't believe how busy I've been and how fast 2005 has gone by. Its just so surreal to me right now. I feel like I've lost touch with so many people and I keep meaning to catch up but it seems like I can never find time to do so. I can see that I've definetly missed a lot around here and wish that I could have been there for you through some of these hard times. Please fill me in on how you're all doing.
As for me, work is well....CRAZY! Its great though. I started a new position in the company back in July and am loving it. I work on an internal helpdesk supporting other employees with process/procedures, judgment calls, help train new employees, etc. I'm also going through the screening process right now to be selected for the Leadership Development Program. Basically, if I can get in, not only is it a HUGE accomplishment but they get you ready to become management within the next year or so. Once you're in, you spend 50% of your time job shadowing, doing acting manager roles, offsite courses, etc. I would love it...so my fingers are crossed. However, if I'm not succesful, that's okay too as this program is very competitive to get in to and getting to the second round of interviews is a big deal.
In other exciting news, Steve and I celebrated our 5th anniversary back in October, I turned 23 in November and we bought a house! :D Yup, we're building a 3 bedroom townhouse with a double garage. Its been so exciting getting to pick out everything, and I can hardly wait. We'll be taking possesion in March/April. Other than that, just the same ole' - Steve and I are both busy working full-time and in school part-time.
As for the "plan", its been pretty much non-existant for so long now that I don't even know where to start. My plan for December is just to not go completely overboard for the holidays, and I will then get re-focused and make a new plan of attack for January, because I swear - I WILL NOT BE FAT FOR 2007!!!
Anyways, I have to run to put clothes in the dryer but wanted to stop by to let you all know that I'm thinking about you and miss you. Also, hello and welcome to all you newbies! :) I promise to try and check in more often.
Now, its your turn... I've been gone forever.. Please fill me in!

Celina is in the house. Whoo Hooo. It sure is good to see you. I've missed seeing you around here.
We have a lot going on too. Diet is going good. We even are being featured in Your Diet Magazine that comes out at the end of this month. They seen our picture and article about hosting a local biggest loser party and picked up the story. Very exciting.
I am dreading the new year as I have to have back surgery on Jan 9th. So we will be going to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore MD to have it done. We will then be staying with friends during my recovery so I can get back and forth to my doctors easily.
Work is going so so. I wish I could find a job that I loved and payed as good as what I have now. Guess we can't have it all. That is cool about you job I hope you get excepted to the leadership roll.
Boy it sure is good seeing you again.

Hey Celina, I just returned myself after being gone from the boards for quite some time. It is good to see you back.

Nice to see you Br00klyn!!! I do hope you get your promotion, I am sure you will do well. I have had a promotion this year, and have found it has really helped my general feeling of well-being to be doing something more interesting, and not to mention better paid.
This year I have lost 55lbs. An average of one a week, so I am really pleased with that. Hopefully 2006 will see me do the same, so by next Christmas I'll only have another 20 or so to go.
I've been in a huge plateau for a while, but that's ok too, I am finding now that my body is getting used to it's new size and shape, not to mention all the nice new clothes I have been able to buy, and is getting ready for the next phase!
12-08-2005, 01:02 PM
Welcome back, Celina!

Hi Celina, it's so good to see you back again!
12-08-2005, 04:32 PM
Welcome back Celina. I see that you have been super busy. Good luck with the promotion.
I've been up again, down a little, and up some more. I'm pretty much with you this month and just coasting and will start a new plan of attack in the new year.
The kids are getting big. Lilly turns 3 two days after Christmas and William will be 2 in Feb.

Welcome back, Celina!!! Jump right back into the fold; we missed you!!
12-09-2005, 02:43 AM
Hi Celina! Long time no talk :) I haven't been around much here either, and I've gained a bit but haven't completely derailed.
That program at your work sounds like an awesome opportunity, I hope you get it!! They ran a similar program at my work, and all of the candidates now have temporary manager roles (filling in on manager holidays etc) and are loving it.
I start a new position on Jan 2, I am leaving Yahoo! after 2.5 interesting years. I'm transferring over as a reports specialist/quality manager on another account. On top of working, I took on being a Brownie leader, since my daughter is in Sparks, and I was a Girl Guide when I was younger. I had no idea it was so much work. But live and learn. :)
Congratulations on your house!!!

Hey, Celina! Great to see you back!
12-09-2005, 03:50 PM
Hey, Celina - sorry I didn't get to this sooner, but I haven't been around as much lately. You're right - 2005 has absolutely *flown* by (but every year seems to go faster the older I get). I still haven't managed to hit my preliminary goal, but i figure it's OK since the scale is still (slowly) headed in the right direction. I feel pretty good, so I can't complain. :D
Great to hear from you & congrats on the new job and NEW HOUSE! That's fantastic news.
12-09-2005, 05:55 PM
Hi there!! How GREAT to see you back!!
2005 for me brought the move to a new house, so it has been a pretty busy summer. I have been up a wee bit and down a wee bit all year. I have been on plan for the last 3 1/2 weeks, so I am hoping to end the year with a BANG!!!
12-09-2005, 06:11 PM
Brooklyn - Great to see you back, chica! I'm sure you'll get into the leadership program. We need more women in leadership role. Keep us posted and stick around! I've missed you.
Raelynn - YOU have been scarce too! I'm glad your leaving Yahoo! :) I've had such problems with them lately (Hot Jobs and Flickr). I've missed seeing you around as well. What's a Spark?
12-10-2005, 12:12 AM
Oh, well now I especially know just how much Iíve missed each of you!
Howie & Kimberley Ė Thatís so fantastic about being featured in Your Diet Magazine! I would absolutely LOVE to see it. I donít think they sell that mag up here in Canada though! Do you think I could buy it online? You also both are doing wonderful with your plans! Howie, I canít believe how far youíve come since you started this journey. Youíre such an inspiration to me! What are your guysí plans for the holidays?
Dawnyal Ė I canít believe how old the kids are! Yes, they certainly are getting big. Do you have any recent pictures to share? I always loved seeing those. And, donít you worry about the New Year girlfriend, weíre get through 2006 just fine Ė we can do it together! :newyear:
Apryl Ė How is your school year going?
Raelynn Ė WOW! Its been way too long.. I never see you on MSN anymore either. We totally need to catch up. Good for you with your new job! That must be so exciting. And brownies? How fun?! Iím sure Jordanna just loves it. Any sleepovers/campouts yet?
Jennifer Ė My gawd! You are truly stunning. I remember when you first joined us here. You as well are so inspiring! Iíll definetly need some tips from you. Keep it up! You must feel amazing.

Sarah Ė Iíve missed you! How are you and Lorraine doing these days?
Anyways you guys I will definetly try to stick around. I WILL make time. Its something I really need to do for myself is to make more ME time! I get so caught up in this busy lifestyle that I forget to do that.
Happy Holidays! :snow4: So, what are each of you planning?
12-10-2005, 01:44 AM
Jessica - I've only been having issues with Yahoo! Messenger as of late, same with everyone I know. It's made work hard, because it's the primary way I communicate with everyone. I haven't heard of any issues with Flickr or HotJobs though, so I hope they start working soon for you! :) A Spark is the level of Girl Guiding for 5 and 6 year olds. It's part of the same global organization as the Girl Scouts you have in the US. The girls start as Sparks (5-6), then go to Brownies (7-8, this is the group I lead), then Guides (9-11), then Pathfinders (12-14, then Rangers/Junior Leaders/Cadets (15-17), then you can be an adult leader. :)
Celina - I am almost never online from home anymore. I noticed that my daughter's behaviour was getting bad, so I stopped going online when she was awake, but then foudn myself staying up until midnight every night, and then my health started suffering. So I'm lucky if I get online for 30 min a day. I usually have my msn on invisible, but I haven't seen you on either! :) I'll say hi when I see you next. :D
12-11-2005, 12:43 AM
We will be scanning the article and pictures an putting it on my blog so you will be able to see it that way. I don't know if they sell it online or not. It's in the start up phase so they don't even have subscriptions available yet.
Our plans for Christmas are just an informal dinner Christmas Eve with the family and then we are going to friends for Christmas dinner. New Years is unplanned for right now. We will be packing and getting ready to leave that weekend for my surgery so I'm not sure what we will be doing.
How about you guys?
12-12-2005, 04:10 PM
Good luck with your interview today. I hope it goes well.
Here's a couple pics of the kids, in the recent snow and being silly over the weekend.
Oh and my baby girl is going to be 3 two days after Christmas. Where has the time gone?!?!?
12-13-2005, 02:45 AM
Awwwww...thanks for sharing the pics! They are so adorable. :) I love it!
The interview was intense...1.5 hours prep time with a case study to complete a presentation on, then 1 hour with a panel interview. Oh well, I did my best and that's all anyone can ask. :)
Anyways, im exhausted and off to bed... Will be back tomorrow...
12-13-2005, 03:28 AM
Dawnyal, those pictures are just precious! They're lovely kids. :) :)
12-13-2005, 12:48 PM
Thank you Kimberley, they are definitely keepers. :D
Celina--so when will you know more about the job? That sure sounds like a lot of work for a job interview.
12-13-2005, 02:00 PM
Celinababy, I loves ya but I keep running out of time on my breaks! I will be back later, pinky swear!!
I am back. Tomorrow I leave for Mayo Clinic, I'm continuing on the drug trial I did last year. This will be 3 years long. I got a full time permanent job working for some very large insurance companies' subrogation department. I am going to work with the Dr's in the study on a better eating plan thatn what I've got going now.
I've missed you!!! It's good to hear that you're doing so well, and I'm so glad you're back!!
