New Diet Book Backs Bread

DALLAS -- As the low carbohydrate craze fades and bread makes a comeback, a new book claims that weight loss can be achieved through a diet that includes lots of bread.
The book, "The Bread For Life Diet," outlines a diet that, in its first stage, includes up to 12 slices of a light variety of bread each day.
The book also recommends traditional diet guidelines including small, frequent meals, exercise and plenty of fluids.
According to the Grain Foods Foundation, bread is a good source of vitamins, minerals and fiber, and can help in the prevention of heart disease.
