Woohoo! One month closer to spring! It snowed here a bit today, so I'm looking forward to warm weather.

I think I saw a new person at the end of the January thread. Hi, Mrs. Minnie!

Deciding if I should weigh myself tomorrow for an official February weight. Aunt Flo is paying me a visit and it would probably be better to wait until Monday. But I'm hoping to see progress. I wasn't super thrilled to lose less than 5 pounds during induction.

How's everyone doing with their low carb menus?

Hello and Good Morning!

Neko... I don't blame you (I would have done the same thing 10 years ago) and wait til TOM passed the worst point. Scale always treats you better! 5 lbs off is still really good! You are still lighter than you were 1/1 I know it was induction... sometimes the body hangs onto fat as it thinks we are going into starvation mode... I (in the past and being younger) used to lose 15+ lbs the 1st 2 weeks (I have always been big time overweight when I start). But I have gotten older and my body has changed somehow so that I don't lose as fast. I am still walking the same... but maybe other actions (in my case) are not the same. But time and hormones affect us differently as we age. But 5 lbs off! is Awesome! Truly!!!

I have an NSV I finally made it to TWODERLAND (its been 8 months) so happy to be back and I see the path ahead of me to get back to Onderland

I was bad yesterday... I never ate lunch (not good for the body) Work, well... I made it thru. Today back to 3 meals and I have a steak waiting for me for dinner tonight! (Just ate my 1 egg and 2 sausage links and 1 oz cheese) )) and alot of water! lololol

Congrats for Twoderland. That must feel great!

I agree with you on the points for slower weight loss for me right now. To start with I'm under 200 pounds. Previously when I started diets, I was more in the 220 range. I always lost pretty quickly until I got under the 200 pounds. Plus I'm 41 now. meh....

Yesterday, I was starving all day and have no idea why. I ended up last night eating whipped chive cream cheese straight out of the container. It was tasty though.

Good morning! Yes, the newbie at the end of the other thread was me

I've been gaining and losing the same stupid pound for three weeks now. Lowest weight so far was 186.4 three weeks ago and I've been hovering around 187 ever since. Got on the scale this morning and back to 186.4 so maybe I am going to FINALLY break through this annoying stall!?

I ate more than usual yesterday. I've been sticking right around 1400 - 1600 calories this whole time and yesterday I probably went over 2000. I had a lot of extra fat yesterday. So maybe I'm one of those that really needs more fat to lose appropriately? In induction I was eating a small avocado every day and losing very well, but I took the avocado out once I started going up the ladder b/c I felt it was making my calories too high. That's about the time I started to stall, so maybe I need to add the avocado back. We'll see.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Wednesday, thanks for letting me join your group!

So my weight stayed exactly the same for 2 days straight (not even an ounce), since I upped my daily carbs to 25. Today it budged by a few ounces so that made me feel good. I really couldn't count my daily carbs yesterday since we dined out last night but I think it was under 25 for the day.

Sue - congrats on getting to TWODERLAND - an accomplishment both mental and physical.

Neko - I absolutely hate winter. Can't wait for spring, although we can also get some bad days then. I was expecting a very bad winter with a lot of snow but last week we were in the 60's! That was crazy. So it hasn't been that bad - so far. I hope when you do weigh yourself you'll lose something. A couple days ago I felt hungry, but it wasn't growling stomach hungry - it really wasn't physical hunger. I think I was bored that day - things I wanted would have put me over my daily carb count and I didn't want anything LC that was on hand. I think I needed something sweet, so I had a Slimfast shake. That seemed to do the trick.

MrsMinnie - welcome - I'm a newbie too. Only a little over a week in. Not much to lose and I'm doing pretty well. I've tried many different diets where I would lose 4 lbs. immediately and not one ounce more after. Since I recently had my first 2 days with no loss whatsoever I was hoping this wasn't going to be the case with Atkins. I've been very successful on LC before so I know it works for me so I'm glad I lost a few ounces this morning. I'm not getting enough calories. I feel full and have used all of my carbs at the end of the day and realize I ate less than 1000 calories. Not so bad for a week or 3 (per The Rotation Diet), but not good long-term. When I did Weight Watchers in the past I lost the most when I ate every point I had coming, including exercise points. My loss would stall when I didn't eat enough. No matter what happens this week with weight loss I'm going to add another 5 carb grams on Friday, bringing me up to 30 a day.

Judy, this winter hasn't been that bad here either. We've had some colder spells, but no zero temperatures. Not too much snow this winter either. Glad the shake did the trick for your hunger. It's hard to tell if it's physical or mental hunger sometimes. Fortunately the cream cheese fixed it for me yesterday and today I hardly want to eat.

Mrs. Minnie. 185 is where I have gotten stuck before. I get there and my weight doesn't want to change for weeks. Maybe more fat will help you. We really aren't meant to count calories. But I do and have been sticking to around 1200 most days. Yesterday I got so hungry I was up to 1700.

Hello my lovely chicks!

Boy miss a day and you gals go poof! look how many posts you have in so far It took me awhile to read it all.

Congrats on those losses girls, I am starting the month, week only down .6 from last week. My body is on some weird kick and thinking it really is not crazy about letting go some fat...go figure??? sunday 163.8, monday 164.2, tues 164.4, wednesday 164.6....hate to see tomorrow next thing I know I will be back at the beginning. I am still keeping the carbs around 10-12 per day, fat 100g or less, calories 1,200 or less. Now I am getting very close to that ..dare I say shhhhh 59yr age. So everything shuts down and refuses to budge.

I will check back in later hehe all around

Hey Nancy, I hear ya! Here's my weigh-ins. Friday - 143.6 - same exact weight until yesterday, Wednesday, when it went to 143.3. Today it's back up to 143.6. I'm still upping my daily carbs to 30 starting tomorrow. I'm not going to maintain on such low daily carbs. I kind of wish I had started at the 40 carb plan - it was still a lot lower than what I used to eat. I suppose I wouldn't be as far along as I am now, but who knows.

Neko - helps me to read how you've been stuck at the same weight for weeks. I'll give it up to 3 weeks before I start tweaking - but I'm going to up my carbs weekly no matter what - at least until I get to 40. If I'm still not losing at that point, I'll have to try something.

Thank you all for your kind words I almost went back over that darn line this morning. EYK! My goal is to get to Onderland being a part of this group! :>)

Nancy.. I too am close to 59 (May, I turn) and I agree it is alot harder to lose weight the older you get. All those darn articles that people write. How about lets defy that idea?! I am up for it. Tho I know (as you all have been discussing) sometimes changing up the eating (like fasting) or exercising more than I did last time, will help it. I also know that 1 bite of bread or sugar... I am shot for at least 3 days of not loosing anything at all (set back) Does that happen to you all at all?

Happy Friday EVE! I am looking forward to alot of walking Saturday as I am going to Disney World (again) to the Studios park this time! May my arse fit in all seats!!! lololol

Judy, stalls seem to normal for most women. Guys make it sound easy, but I swear female bodies just want to hold onto fat. If you stay stalled, looking into a different diet wouldn't hurt. I know some LC people swear every other diet is bad; but I think sometimes you need to experiment and find what works for your body.

Disney World again, I'm so jealous, Wanna. We were just in September. But my husband is telling me it's not in the budget to go again this year.

Being out with children is stressful when dieting. I'm jealous of the sub. lol

OK so gals how are you doing tonight ???

Weigh in this am was a crap shoot, got on and off the scale 5 times and got 5 different numbers. I finally gave up and and thought F***...well then it was pick a number any number

Laughand....what is up with that 3 day rule. I get that one hung on me too. I have not had a bite of sugar, bread, pasta, rice in nearly 4 months. Let me have a drink (or two) of alcohol and dammit 3 days is just not fair. I am a grown up and I can have alcohol why am I being punished

Neko that picture is like food porn with all that bread and chips....then to put a cute cute cute baby there....oh man I miss my grandbabies and bread LOL

judyo, I think this whole scale thing needs to be re-evaluated. I wonder if we can find one with bubble wrap on it and we would weigh less

Ok I am off to find some low carb something for dinner

Ahhh... Why are all the pictures linked to my Prime Photos account so large.

It's Friday!

Anyone have plans for the weekend? I'm going to a friend's house for Superbowl and bringing a large salad to share.

Scale finally went down another lb. Going to 30 carbs today. I think I figured things out. I was very thirsty the first week of induction so was drinking a lot of liquids. I haven't been so thirsty lately and I can go a day with just one cup of coffee. I haven't been that bad but I had more liquids yesterday which helped with my recent constipation (I believe from not enough liquids and just not enough food - I'm not sure if I ever hit 1200 calories in a day yet). So there's my tweak! Drink more water!

Sue - Disney World is one of my favorite places. My son and his wife & 2 grandsons went recently, although they only spent a day or two in Disney and the rest at Universal Studios. They loved Universal but weren't crazy about Disney. They hated Magic Kingdom (my favorite park of them all) but did like Animal Kingdom. Oh well, to each their own but I was hoping on going with them someday, guess not!

Neko - what a cutie! Since being told I'm allergic to wheat about 5 years ago I can't eat anything but salads at Subway - so haven't been there in years. There are some places that have gluten free bread but even though it's come a long way, still not as tasty as wheat or rye bread. I'd be able to have those chips though! But not yet on Atkins.

If I have trouble losing when adding carbs I'll just shake up LC. Maybe do it along with The Rotation Diet (I can always do that better low carb but you do count calories) or I might try The Carbohydrate Addict's Diet (CAD) that I did in the past for about 2 1/2 years. I'm going to our townhouse in Scottsdale, AZ this month for 10 days and there are a lot of awesome restaurants out there and I'm already trying to plan. I can control almost everything except this one breakfast place. They have a carmelized pear, cinnamon & mascarpone omelette that is out of this world. That shouldn't be too bad in carbs but they also have these gluten free "protein cakes" (pancakes) that they serve with berries that I questioned the staff if they were really GF, they taste so good! So when we go to that place for breakfast I'll treat it as a Reward Meal that is part of the CAD plan and eat my other meal or two LC.

Nancy - I've done that with the scale before - getting on and off and getting multiple numbers! Not so much with my newer one, though. It's been very accurate.
