Default 11 weeks to lose

So yesterday i booked my summer holiday and maxxed out my credit card.
11 weeks tomorrow i go to Lanzarote with my wonderful man.
I have been losing weight again for a few weeks now and have lost 5lbs. I would love to lose another 20+ before my holiday. I want to wear a bikini for the first time since i was 6 (i turn 30 in July and i dont want to be fat).

Not really sure what this post is about but it feels good to put it down what i intend to do.

Sounds like a reasonable goal, losing 1-2 lbs a week. Are you just counting calories or doing anything else?

Good luck with your effort!!!

I personally don't do well dieting in a time frame, because when I don't meet the goal I set, I become defensive and tend to give up my efforts completely. Being consistent with changing my habbits and simply hoping to weight loss will naturally follow, slower or faster, seems to be a better way for me. But you might be completely different, and your goal certainly isn't unreasonable.

Again, good luck!

Depending on how much weight you want to lose, 11 weeks is enough time to make a dent in the weight loss. You could just burn more than you consume in calories; cut the chips and sodas from your diet.

Congratulations though.

Wearing a bikini is excellent motivation. It's what helps me stay on track at age 58. When I'm 60 I'll be going to Greece for 6 months, and I intend to rock my bikinis!

thanks for the encouragement. i dont eat chips or drink soda. havent had any soda since new year.
ive also cut bread out of my diet as i find it bloats me terribly and doesnt even fill me up.
tonight i started c25k again and did some rowing and upper body weights at the gym. im feeling ok about the process so far. id love to lose 20lbs before my holiday and then another 10lbs before my 30th in July but as long as i am smaller and healthier its better than where i am now.

You can do it.make those calories count with lots of veggies, lean proteins. Bacon eggs. Etc. cutting the bread will really help.

Yep, get those lean proteins up (eggs, chicken, fish) and keep those carbs down (bread, sugar).

If you just want to shed the pounds over the 11 weeks then focus on cardio at the gym. This will maximize fat loss and might incur some muscle loss too.

I love weight training but that is longer haul for preserving and building muscle. If you want the biggest bang for your buck in 11 weeks, a good/strict diet and cardio all the way.

You have me thinking now IanG. I do want to maximise loss but id also like to be toned in my bikini, not just thinner and flabby. I basically want it all. Im not doing heavy weights really so hopefully it wont hold me back too much. Maybe ill try for 5 weeks and then re-evaluate.
Im a bit sore today from last night but its giving me a kind of kick thinking its the fat leaving my body and making me leaner.

thanks 215, i think i am being careful about my carbs, im scottish so sticking to traditional porridge for breakfast, ill have wholewheat pasta or rice for dinner and i love a good sweet potato. I am doing a veg and chicken soup a lot for dinner too. Lunch is always a salad with either no or very little light dressing. I MAY have to watch the fruit sugars as i love my grapes and canteloupe melon for morning snack but in my head its better than a bag of malteasers (which im currently craving for the past week).
I only drink 4 cal/250ml fizzy water or sugar free diluting juice now, no soda or fresh juice has passed my lips since January.
Tonight is Chilli for dinner and i cant WAIT! it will be ready in 5 minutes

I cant believe how good im feeling right now!
Today i am off to buy new running shoes as the ones i have are too big! i think ill walk to the shops that are an hour away or at least walk half way.
Its funny how eating healthy and exercising can make you feel so alive when you didnt even realise you felt bad before hand.
