Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum and to the south beach diet. I just finished day 1 of phase 1 and hanging in there ok. Hard for me to not have any fruit- that was a big snack for me - but so far so good.
I'm a type 2 diabetic with mild complications and looking to drop about 130lbs total not only to look better but also to help control my diabetes.
I have the base book + cookbook + good carbs and dining out books so I feel fairly confident with the rules but we will see!

Only 2 weeks sans fruit - totally worth it I find when I have fruit before 12pm, I crave it all day so watch out! (do a forum search for phase 1.5 - what we call the re-intro of foods phase).
