Default Subscribing to threads

This is my first "new thread" but I didn't want the answer to 'get lost' somewhere. I have only physically clicked on "follow this thread" about 5 times for threads I really don't want to lose. However, when I look at my 'subscribed threads' I have A LOT--like 8 pages worth!. Do you automatically subscribe to a thread just by posting in it?

What I want to know is how can I save and quickly find some "favourites", like the recipe threads, or a few I'm personally interested in, without having pages of ones to weed through?

Yup, when you reply to a message you automatically subscribe to that thread unless you change the option.

If you don't want to be subscribed to the replied-to-thread, scroll down from your reply box and under the heading "Thread Subscription" there is a dropdown box. Choose "Do Not Subscribe" and that should take care of it for you.

Hope that takes care of your issue.

I know the feeling...sometimes I post and get a "go search the threads" then you have to spend an hour getting through it all! Don't have an hour to find the recipe etc. and many times it doesnt even come up

I tried that but I would have to delete EVERY thread ---long time. But I found another setting under the CP Users tab that let me hit "do not subscribe" as the default setting so this is WAAAY better. I deleted about 6 pages of threads I don't need and now have my favourite ones for when I need 'em. woooot wooot!

Glad you figured it out! My suggestion was for going forward when you replied to a post but your way takes care of it for all of them. Good job!

Ok seriously, I've been on this forum for over a year and I still have no idea how to use it. I've never ever subscribed to a thread and I feel SERIOUSLY dumb just reading this one! LOL
