Default NSV Physical Therapy

Howdy,
I know some here are struggling with weight loss and maintanence. I remember reading peoples non scale victories (NSV) while losing and finding inspiration to keep on my path.

I have had jaw pain for about 7 years, recently diagnosed with TMJ, anteriorly displaced without reduction. I commensed with anti-inflammatory medicines, naproxen, and a very specific physical therapy regime for this problem. When the PT started working on me, she said how easy it was because she could find my joints and muscles. No fat to work through. She thought I had always been trim, until I showed her my before pix along with my maintanence graphic. She was stunned. I looked around at the rest of the patients who were not so fortunate. I said that would have been me, before October 2009. How much harder my treatments would be going if I had stayed fat. I have such a feeling of gratitude for being in the shape I am.

As in interesting fact, I have experienced incremental weight gain during this time which I hope is temporary. I will continue to eat low cal/low carb and weighing daily. I will be having my annual physical in August and am very interested in several aspects of my body and am very glad to have a detailed history of cal/carbs along with exercise to discuss with my doc in case something has gone askew.

I encourage those of you who are trudging along, it is worth getting to the other side. There are blessings you cannot even imagine being trim.

Karen, what a wonderful NSV. Something about when a health care professional gives positive feedback feels so great! They've seen everything ya know? Hopefully the med weight falls off as quickly as it came. WTG!!
