I used to freeze my puddings but it didn't really get the ice cream consistency.

I went camping a couple weekends ago and a friend brought an ice cream maker for camping! It looked like a hampster ball. All she did was put in cream, sugar and a chocolate bar in a little cup in the center of the ball and closed the lid, then put ice and salt inside the ball and shook. I was skeptical but it actually worked. I'm thinking about getting one for my Premier Nutrition shake since it seems to be more like cream than the packets.

I wonder if I can make it at home somehow in a bag or something! LOL I am going to try for snack... I will let you know how it goes... and if it works... I sense a new favorite in the making!!

I'm aging myself here...but when we were kids, mom used to put the ice-cream making ingredients in a small plastic container, then put it in a large coffee can full of ice. Then she would have us kids kick it around the yard. She only made small amounts because she would use some really fancy thick cream that was really expensive...we always enjoyed our treat and it was fun making it.
It's kinda old school, but I'm pretty sure that you could find the instructions via google. hope this helps

The verdict on the Premier Nutrition shake.... YUM!!!! I didn't have a lot of ice so it was more like a milkshake! And my ziploc bag was leaking, so that didn't help matters. I'm doubling up on ice cube trays and trying again when I get better bags!

I have put my IP ready to drink chocolate in the freezer for 2.5 to 3 hrs and I love it, cut the top off, and eat with a spoon. I dont let it get frozen solid.
