Elaine, I'm new to this forum, not new to 3FC, but have been absent from the forums for about a year. I've been on the Med eating plan for most of my life. Parents are Greek and it's how we eat!

I briefly fell out of the "plan" when I went off to college 30 years ago. A series of unfortunate events left me at 353 lbs. Been coming back to the plan over the last two years, after I moved away from and divorced 'the unfortunate event'. Since then I've lost 40 lbs through various methods and attempts. Committing to a modified Med diet has been working best for me for the last year.

Toya, you can read about the Med diet in the 'sticky' section of this forum. I enjoy eating like this. And it cuts way down on my recycling trash because I'm not buying processed foods any more!

Welcome, PElaine and Toya, and welcome back geoblewis!

Geo - I've noticed exactly that! My trash/recycling is about half of what it used to be. I have a college-aged son who moved back home with me. He doesn't think it's "food" unless it's meat and in a box with a pretty picture. (That would be how his father raised him for the past few years).

PS - PElaine, your icon is hilarious!
