South Beach Diet - Is egg salad OK on phase 1?

The only things I put in it were eggs, onions, about a tsp of mustard, and about 1/2 cup (prob. a little less than that) of reduced fat dressing. I was in a crunch for time, so this is what we had for lunch. I didn't have any bread with it. I had about 1/2-3/4 cup. Is this a no no? (sorry, BTW. I am horrible at trying to decide what is acceptable and what is not!)

I'm new at this, but it seems that as long as the dressing had no sugar or starches, you are okay.
I have been a crazy label reader, and almost every processed item has some form of sugar, but not all. You just have to decipher the ingredients.

Egg salad is fine for all phases of SBD, and you can even use full-fat mayo or dressing for it. Don't use Miracle Whip, though, as it's not SBD friendly.
BTW, most reduced fat dressings have added sugar and unpronouncable additives to replace the fat, so be sure to read the ingredients on the label before you use it.

thank you!! I did use Miracle Whip, but now I know for next time. I don't know why it is so difficult for me to catch on to knowing what is ok and what is not.
