*edit - I'm back. See my second post in this thread on page 2!*

In January of this year I found this site - this was the same day that I decided that I was going to take my life back and start living healthy.

After going through the various forums, I found a home in the 300+ club (plus a couple others) since that is where I felt I belonged. I thought the 100 lb. Club was for people who were in their 100s and I didn't think that I could handle seeing posts by people who thought they were fat when they weighed 130+ pounds less than I, so I stayed away from that sort of discouragement.

When I was around my 60 pound lost mark, I realized that this forum was not what I thought it was - I thought it was for people who had already lost 100 pounds so I decided that I was going to use "posting in the 100 pound Club forum" as my 100 pounds lost reward.

Around the 80 pound lost mark, I realized I was STILL wrong, and felt like a tool to boot, but I only had 20 pounds to go to reach my original reward goal so kept with it but started reading most of the posts. I've been a lurker ever since.

Well - short story long - after hovering around the 96-99 pound loss for the past 2 long weeks, it finally happened this morning - 101.2 pounds lost and my reward post is nigh!

So hello all! This is a happy day for me (really? I have lost 100 pounds in 7 months and 1 day - shenanigans!!!), on the eve of a very exciting weekend (going to see my family for the first time since my weight loss and they don't even know I have been "dieting") and I am just giddy.

Sorry for the rambling - I'm having a hard time containing myself today :carrot:

Well now after losing 100 pounds you have less than 100 pounds to go till goal. Since this forum is for people who are 100+ overweight, you can't post here anymore. You've lost you chance ;)

Congrats on the weight loss!!!!!

I love this story!! I'm so glad you posted it! Lots of people have misconceptions about this place, so you are not alone. ;) And incidentally, I understand how you feel. There's an area of this board where I tread lightly on which posts I'll open because I can't handle hearing someone who wants (not needs) to lose 15 pounds complain about how unbelievably fat they are. I'm just not that strong and my fingers itch to type "You have no idea."

100 pounds is awesome!! And your head must just be spinning with the speed of it!

Thanks so much everyone for your warm welcome and positive thoughts. I am pretty stoked! I am hoping the husband will be wielding a camera for some reaction photos. I think that would be great fun. And hopefully I'll have photos of ME when I get back, too! I just have to muster up the courage. You know how that goes ;)

OMG this made me laugh out loud. THANK YOU heheheh

What is your method for losing weight?

I am a clean eater and I count calories. I go into a lot of detail about my process in my blog (linked in my sig). At the top are tabs; click on the "My Dietary Plan" tab for all the info!

I suppose I should read people's signatures a little more carefully. Thanks!

Well, I'm back!

What an ego boosting weekend! I had many compliments although it wasn't all like I expected (I made a lengthy blog entry with details for those interested. I'll leave the massive wall of text out of this post and just point you to the blog if you want ALL the details).

Talk about motivation to keep going! I am so enthused. And I saw my dentist for the first time yesterday and she and the techs all freaked out - I had to detail every little thing I did for them LOL.

No pics =( Although, the professional photographer took a group photo of us 4 cousins (raised as siblings pretty much) which I am going to ask for a copy of so I can have a decent "in progress" picture where I look gussied up haha!

Eating was an issue. You'd think that food in Los Angeles would have a bend towards the healthier side no matter where you went. Not so much. I had a hard time finding things I could eat, and even then, it wasn't very tasty (also, the fair smells really good... but all I could eat there was a diet Pepsi).

I have spoiled myself with my own good, healthy, tasty cooking. I also didn't count calories the whole weekend, which is the first time I have not done that since the start of this journey. I am happy to report I came back 2.8 pounds lighter despite the obstacles!

All in all, it was a success and I have come back with renewed enthusiasm and a stronger sense of self confidence. :D

OH MY GOSH Pacifica Bee!

I totally remember when you started, and I am so thrilled at how far you have come! I pop over into the 300 pound section from time to time because that is where I began, but during the spring and summer I am so incredibly busy that I hardly have time to read anything unless it rains! I'm am tickled pink for you and your accomplishments. WAY TO GO GIRL! Awesome, just awesome!

I read your blog. ;) And you know what? I get the advice on how to lose weight from people too! :dizzy: What is that about? I've lost 65 pounds people...I kinda think I might know a little something. :D It always starts with "You should try..." or "The best diet is..." I just smile and nod.

What great reactions though! How much fun is that?!
