I listen to fun dance songs and have a booty shaking fest to get my energy up before workouts. I'm trying to put together a new playlist to get myself pumped for workouts and when I need the boost during. I love my Shakira, Black Eye Peas, and LMFAO, but they just don't do it like they used to...
Lol, don't be ashamed. I'm not really a fan of either person but their songs are catchy enough to be on one of my playlist, along with Britney. Heck, I'll see your Ke$ha/ Gaga and raise you NYSNC and Back Street Boys!
As ashamed as I am to admit it, Lady Gaga and Kesha are doing it for me lately. *Hangs head*
Lol don't be ashamed, dance music is great for working out! If I'm doing something like walking, doing an outdoor activity, or like using a machine/riding my bike I like dance music, or fast stuff with a good beat. Even hip hop and rap will get me pumped.
But when I run, I can listen to ANYTHING. Dance music helps if I'm getting tired or bored, but for the most part I can listen to anything. I listened to Desolation Row by Bob Dylan while running not too long ago, and was shocked to check my ipod and see it was a 15 minute song lmao.
Anything fast and with a beat! Most of what is listed above. I listen to Avril Lavigne a lot (filtering out slow songs). I like her music and it's upbeat and happy lol.
Lol, you guys are great. The stuff I work out to is stuff I would never listen to in my daily life. But yeah, "Bad Romance" and "Poker Face," or "Your Love is My Drug" and "Don't Stop" are really keeping me moving these days. BSB and N*SYNC are stuff I'd listen to just for fun nostalgia :P But yeah, the big thing is to just blast whatever will keep your body moving! For my sister it's this remix group called Girl Talk, you guys should check them out if dance music is your thing. They sample like crazy, but it's kinda cool.
Oh man, the entire cd of Dance Mix 95 works like a charm too!
I download all the music videos off of youtube and then put them on my ipod so I can watch them too... nothing like great music AND skinny dancing girls to help me push an extra mile!
Ciara with Ludacris doing "Ride" has been on my top 5 list for a while now!
That's awesome. I love to work out to early 90s rap its got a great dance beat and a lot of one hit wonders. But they keep me motivated!! My hubby laughs when he comes in to me shaking my butt on the eliptical to some 69 boyz or sir mixalot lol. But it really works for me.

I like early 90's rap, too.
Hmmm, I listen to pop from the 90's -- NSYNC, BSB, 98 Degrees, LFO, Britney et al. And lot of one hit wonders from every era. I also like working out to 50's Rock 'n Roll -- Chubby Checkers, Bobby Darin, Elvis, Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, etc. and upbeat Motown classics. Oh, and Michael Jackson!
As mentioned, Lady Gaga is amazing! A lot of her non-radio songs are great. I'm not a fan of Poker Face or the disco stick song (Love Game?), but she has some sick beats for working out. I love Britney, too, but I'm a fan so I'm completely biased. Some old school Madonna is good too: Just try not to dance to Vogue, I dare you! I really like The TingTings as well.
I'm also a fan of the "girl power" workout, where I listen to angry girl music. Kelly Clarkson is great for this! hahaa. Also The Veronicas and Avril Lavigne (sometimes). Some of the songs by the Glee cast are very danceable, so if you're into the show, those might be a good option....
Oh! You mentioned the BEPs, and Fergie's solo album is AMAZING with tons of up-beat, girly songs
I don't know! There's just so much music in the world.
I had a gym teacher in middle school who was obsessed with playing "Let's Get Physical" by Olivia Newton-John whenever we had class in the weight room. Go find the music video on Youtube... it's kind of amusing.
I like to put on a lot of early 90s dance music as well as late 90s pop (Backstreet Boys, Britney, etc). Santana is great, too. I've also found that some of those modern rock bands are putting out songs that are highly danceable.
