Weight Watchers - What do you wear to Weigh In?

View Full Version : What do you wear to Weigh In?

I'm just curious, what do you all wear to WI?

Does what you wear have much bearing on the scale? Do you wear the same thing every week? I attend an evening meeting, so I need as much "forgiveness" from the scale that I can get!

Sorry if this is posted elsewhere, just curious!

Thanks!

what you wear can have a 4 pound diffrence on the scale ... heans and a sweat shirt would be about 4 lbs on the scale for example

when i attended the WW meetings i would go in as little as possible especially for an evening meeting because by that time id have extra water weight plus the weight of my food in me for the day ... why not wear a pair of leggings and a light weight tunic top ? or maybe a pair of yoga pants and a cotton T ...

It doesn't so much matter what you wear as long as you try to wear the same thing/type of clothing consistently. If a pair of jeans weighs two pounds but you always wear a pair of jeans, it won't factor into any weight gain/loss.

I typically head to the gym after weigh-in, so I always wear workout clothes. If I am not going to the gym, I still wear them and then change afterwards.

It's easier if you just think of your first WW meeting as a start point, regardless of what your scales at home say and what time of day it is there etc. You know that the WW meetings will be at the same time every week, so if you just wear the same/similar clothes to each meeting and only use the meetings as your reference points, you can just go from there :) At the end of the day, it's all about how you FEEL and not necessarily the number on the scale :) Just make a reference point and go from there :) Good luck! xx

i weight myself on my bathroom naked on that day, then i try to wear a blouse and trousers, for the weigh in normally is a pound different, nothing more dont wear jeans and never wear shoes, even a jacket.

I usually wear the same thing, which is a thinner weight tshirt and a pair of capri workout pants. I actually rolled up some of my pants and weighed them on my WW food scale! Dork, I know, but now I know! I have 2 pair of capris I was debating between and one was a full ounce lighter than the other. A pair of cotton shorts was almost a half pound different than the capris. I NEVER wear jeans! They've added about 2 pounds to me before. Also, lose all the jewelry. My watch has a bangle type band and is quite heavy. Pair that with a necklace and earrings and you can be looking at a whole 'nother pound.

Yes, as they say, you should not be focusing as much on the scale but we still do. If you wear heavy clothes and jewelry one week and not the next, it will mess with your numbers and, for me anyway, cause frustration so I just lose it all before weigh in.

I go at lunchtime and am in office wear, so the best I can do is take off my shoes and any blazer or cardigan I am wearing. As the weather gets warmer, the weight of my trousers or skirts etc. will get a bit lighter, but I don't imagine it will make a huge difference.

I just wear whatever I'm wearing that day, and take off my shoes and any outerwear type thing like a cardigan. In the long run I don't think it makes much of a difference. My meeting is at 5:30pm so I know some of the number that's entered in my book is undigested food, water, and clothes, but none of that affects how many pounds of fat I've lost during the week.

Although someday when that number determines my continuing lifetime membership, I'll go to a 7am meeting in a sundress in February. :D

Bra/undies or nothing. I have to see the lowest number possible!

We mean at Weight Watchers meetings! I don't think that would go over very well. :p

 I saw that and thought, "Wow! That's quite the meeting location - we joke about stripping down but have never actually done it!"

I wear jeans and don't take off my sneakers, though I don't think I've seen any of the others in my meeting not taking off their shoes, ;). It really doesn't matter to me since I seem to be never in anything else, so since the clothes are the same-ish each time, I can focus on a downward trend or any patterns without thinking about the scale number or my clothing too strongly.

I do an evening meeting as well. It's like this, you've got to eat and drink your water the same as you would any other day, it's just a point each week that shows you whether or not there is a downward trend and gives you a little data to work with to tweak your plan if there isn't. Back that up with say, exercise improvements and measurements, and you've got a better idea of how things are going.

I just wear a light dress and some tights. We aren't allowed to go bare feet (I guess its for health reasons) so I make sure I have light shoes on as well and always take my jacket off. It all makes a wee difference :P

I thought I was the only one that did weird stuff like that! My Grandma came into my room the other day while I was holding different pairs of pants, trying to figure which one was lighter! Even though they don't weigh much, I take off all of my jewelery before I go in, and brush my hair to get any stragglers out that don't need to weigh in! I understand the fact that we shouldn't focus on the scale, but sometimes it gets so depressing to hear that your loss doesn't match the effort! I look at the weird things I do before a weigh in like the weird things people do before a big sports game or something!

I usually wear pajama pants (morning meeting) or light running pants and a tank top. No jewelry, no shoes, and I try to go number 2 before weighing in haha.

I was lurking! ;)I was on WW pre-pregnancy (and on this message board) , and I'll be right back on it after delivery, so I'm just here to help me climb back on the wagon, since I'm hoping to go anyday now!
Anyway, I saw your comment on shoes. At our ww wi they always had a roll of paper towels next to the scales, and if we wanted to take off our shoes (which pretty much everyone did we had to put a paper towel square down first then throw it away when we were done. I'd hate to wi with shoes on!

Yeah, every meeting location I've been to has had paper towels nearby, too. I've seen very few people keep their shoes on when getting on the scale. I even wear the littlest socks possible! I only wear those little, "no see" tennis socks that barely peep out the top of your shoe. I'll take every ounce off (literally!) that I can!

I usually weigh-in first thing in the morning. I wear whatever I get out of bed wearing. Usually no shoes, a thin shirt and pajama/pants and shorts.

LOL I had no idea what the paper towels were for or why they were way down there! Thankfully, I have always worn socks! With summer almost here I will definitely be wearing sandals, so now I know about the paper towels! ;)

I wear the same thing every week. In the winter, a T-shirt and light sweatpants under my coat. But nowadays, just a tanktop and shorts. :)

My shoes are so light it doesn't really make a difference. :P
Although if I've had a bad week I think I might grab some toilet paper or something haha.

I wear a similar outfit each time -- jeans, sandals, and a t-shirt

My clothes add about 2 pounds (based one weighing at home before and after dressing), but I figure as long as I'm consistent, then the weigh-ins will be right. :)
