A New Beginning - AGAIN... - 3 Fat Chicks on a Diet Weight Loss Community

Just want to stop in to introduce myself and find some moral support! I've never done any type of on-line program and am excited to see how this works out.

I'm 46 and a single mom of 20 year old twin boys (men), struggling with the same weight issues I have always fought. One of my boys has joined the Navy and is training to test for entry in the Navy SEALs program. Watching him has motivated me to get off my big fanny and do something for myself. In the past, I have tried the Weight Watchers at home program and had success but didn't exercise which I think was my downfall. So - my goal - drop from 202 to 135 pounds, work up to 25 push ups, 100 sit ups, and run a 5K race by my 47th birthday in July. Hopefully I am not being too optimistic, but I believe I can do this!

I would love to hook up with a few other women who have similar goals and want to support each other... I am here for you!

I'm going to encourage you to read lots and post lots! Make yourself right at home here.

Have you found the 40-somethings, exercise threads, Weight Watchers ...?

Thanks for your reply... I found the exercise threads but not the 40-somethings. I will have to look for that one - sounds like it will be helpful.

Glad to have you join us! There are lots & lots of different groups and forums - I'm sure you'll find some that will keep you motivated, inspired and entertained!

There are lots of people here with more to lose and lots with less - the bottom line is that we all have to do it a day at a time. The good thing is that we'll have lots of company along the way.

I've only been here a few weeks myself, having NEVER been part of an online forum. What has been so eye-opening is how much it has helped me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or defeated, I just log on and read some of the success stories, complete with their before & after photos - or read about others still dealing day to day with their challenges - and before I know it, the time has flown by and so have all the thoughts of cheating or giving up.

So welcome aboard - join in by inspiring us and being inspired!
