Holy cabana boys! The first week of June is gone! Slow down please.

Got the garden tilled and the edges tiddled up yesterday but ran out of time and energy around 5:30 and did not get any planting done. :( Today will be a huge work day because it looks like a week of showers starting tomorrow. At least I won't have to water next week!

I could really go for a Femmecreole porn breakfast. The eggs Benedict on a crab cake looked wonderful. I guess I'll settle for a poached egg in a toasted English muffin.. **Sigh** Cottage is probably having a "lobstah" roll for her breakfast.

So what's on your plan for the day? Sit and chat a bit. :cofdate:

 lobster roll
Sorry, having a Homer Simpson moment ;)

Good morning Ruth! If it's any consolation my garden is still not done and it's smaller. The weather really slowed me down between the cold and the rain. A local guy who worked with a lot of the older farmers insists that planting early doesn't really make a difference - when the soil is warm enough things grow. Sure hope he's right. Hope your weekend has lots of relaxing garden moments mixed in.

I'm off to Boston to spend the day with DD. Apparently we will have a late lunch/early dinner at a fabulous seafood restaurant near the harbor. The rest of the day will be filled with walking around, maybe a ferry trip to the islands so I won't worry too much about food choices. Cottage has me so ready for fresh seafood! I'll try for some pictures with my new phone :)

Have a good weekend day Chicks

Good Morning:sunny:
It's barely 5 and you both have me laughing. between thoughts of porn breakfasts and Homer Simpson:doh: I guess I needed to see the movie.

Ruth, I hope everything gets done today. You could take a mini vacation next week:beach: while the plants are being taken care of. HaHa-that never works for me either. The one consolation is that I think the garden gets a serious boost from rain and cloudy weather when it's first put in.

Cyndi, have a great day in Boston. I am sooooooooooooooooo envious. My bro went to MIT when I was a kid and we always went to visit. I would love to go back. We tried last year, and it just didn't work out$$$.

Me, off to go rafting. I had given up my space so Sarahs BF could go, and offered to volunteer. Yesterday, they called and offered me a space anyway. So I'm off to see what clothes fit.:( year I won' have to worry:carrot:

I'll check in later and see what everyone else is up to. Thanks for all your support! Another day OP!

Good morning from LobsterLand! :) I haven't had my lobster yet today, but I'm sure it will find it's way onto my plate at some point during the day. :p
My eating has been absolutely horrendous, but delicious, since I've been here. Between the popovers, and blueberry pie, crisps, and scones, I've been in carb heaven. Not to mention having ice cream every day. They even have lobster ice cream here! But it isn't very good, lol!

We had a wonderful day yesterday, filled with lots of hiking and exploring, and mananged to get in a little shopping, too. This morning we're going to help Caite clean her dorm room, and we have a sunset cruise on a windjammer planned for later.

Cyndi, I will probably be back here in early September when we bring Caitlyn back, let's plan a Beach meet then!

Good morning,

Ruth sounds like you were still very productive yesterday, I hope you get everything finished today.

Cyndi enjoy your day in Boston with DD, sounds like you will have a wonderful time.

Debbie glad you got a spot to go rafting that sounds like fun, it is something I have always wanted to try but have not had a chance to do.

Cottage- Sounds like you are having a wonderful time- enjoy your cruise tonight.

Last night decided to go Grocery shopping and get it out of the way for the weekend. Today I am going to sign up DD2 for Soccer and then taking her with a girlfriend to go see Up. Other than that not much on the agenda so I am going to try to enjoy my "downtime"

Have a lovely day everyone

well my ticker is lying and I need to refocus on my eating so I am doing phase one again. Not so easy this time.

Ruth-happy planting. the rain brings lush greeness.
Cyndi- Enjoy Boston and time with DD.
Cottage- enjoy the fresh seafood. I can't partake in that, just not worth the itches!
Pearlrose-Heard the movie is good. Enjoy your quiet day.

My dog is barking in her sleep, wondering who she is talking to. Been busy with the kids at the pool so this weekend is laundry and housecleaning.
Hope everyone has a good weekend and a safe one

Ruth, I think I may have a way to make that food porn crab cake SB...
maybe mix crab with veggies..onions, peppers, celery, parsley, finely chopped squash, carrots etc..then add a little finely blended oatmeal and mayo, then either bake or "fry" in a little olive oil...then the poached egg on top and maybe put it on bed of spinach and skip the sauce on's really not needed.

Over indulged on rum punches last night and paid for it later on...ouch..
but feeling great today and just kind of hanging around the house cleaning a bit...

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good Morning!

The championship t-ball game was last night. The other team won, but our team got a trophy, too. They were so excited!

Our farmers market opened this morning. I got soup-chini (as Auston says) and a beautiful head of savoy cabbage. I don't know what I'm going to do with the cabbage, but I couldn't leave it! Any ideas?

06-06-2009, 04:50 PM
Ohhh tomorrow is weigh-in day. I was naughty yesterday but we had a rough day here, which is my justification for drinking beer. That's ok though, today is a new day! WOO HOO! Had a great time at an appointment and may have a new recruit, and also am going to spend the $100 Shopping Spree Gift Card that I won the other day. Little Guy and Tom are gonna get some clothes! (Tom insists that I get something too, but I have enough.)

Going to take the rest of the day off to relax. Looks like it might want to rain, so I guess I won't be lying out for my 20 minutes of Vitamin D, but that's alright. Maybe tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!!!!!

Just thought I'd touch base. Everyone came home to nap after rafting..'cept me.
Lisa, how was your yard sale?
Chelby, healthy coleslaw? or Sauteed Cabbage w/Ginger I love cabbage, and can't resist either, but I don't have young ones I'm trying to please.
Cat, your recipe sounds great! I might add a little egg white to bind it.
PhoenixSF, :dust:
PearlRose, enjoy your "downtime"
Cottage, may you return home safe and sound and refreshed.
Cyndi, I'll bet you had a great time-hope the weather was nice.
Ruth, may you have a relaxing day ahead for all your hard work

I am finding weekends are harder for me to stay on plan. So far, so good, but I do much better with the structure I have during the week. My checking in has helped. I only have 6 to go to be back to ground zero and I know in my heart it won't happen if I start cheating now.

Thanks for being here.

06-06-2009, 08:26 PM
Lexxiss, That recipe looks great! Never thought of an Asian twist to cabbage. Auston is 5 and I don't try to please him. If I only cooked things he'd eat, my diet would be awful! I cook things I like and offer him a taste of everything. He's just recently decide that broccoli is edible. :)

Wow, quiet day here - hope you are all out enjoying the sunshine! I had a fun day with DD. We ate at Legal Seafood and I taught her the shuffle the menu trick. I wanted the Maine crab salad but not on the caesar salad so we ordered it on the Greek salad, dressing on the side. It was fabulous that way and I don't think I went too far off plan (though I wonder how much mayo)! My pedometer says 17,000 + steps and I put it on when I left the house today, so not feeling one bit guilty :)

Debbie - I would choose rafting over Boston, not a city person. It was fun spending the day wandering with DD though.

Cottage - I'm game! We are getting married 9/13 but no other plans that month.

Pearl - How was Up? It's definitely on my list.

Phx - You can do it!

Cat - That recipe sounds Yummy! I may have to play with that one.

Chelby - I use Savoy the same way I use regular cabbage. I've found that just googling the food + recipes often brings me to new and interesting (and sometimes scary!) recipes. Here is one from our recipes:
We ate an entire head the other night. DP is now a veggie fiend too :) I love it when healthy habits rub off on the people we care about!

Lisa - Hope you enjoyed the shopping :)

I am trying to stay awake until a respectable hour for sleeping. Not sure the rhubarb wine is helping ;)

06-06-2009, 09:49 PM
LOL got my laptop back and found Jim Carrey's version of Want Somebody to Love (Cable Guy) and Little Guy thinks it's HYSTERICAL. He's CRACKING UP! Tom's lip synching and it's awesome!!!!

06-06-2009, 09:53 PM
For my birthday, I got a card that opened up and played "Can't Touch This" by MC Hammer. Auston was all about that song! So, I got on Youtube and played the video for him. He was amazed at the dancing. He laughed and danced.

How old is Little Guy?

06-06-2009, 10:56 PM
He'll be 6 in August.

06-06-2009, 11:00 PM
Auston will be 6 in December. It's a fun age.

06-07-2009, 07:26 AM
Good morning! I'm not sure what today will bring because the weather forecast is sort of "iffy". I'm about to soak in the tub to sooth away some aches from a big day of garden work. (I was just too pooped to do it last night after the "deck party".) Then it'll be Church and after that either more garden stuff or rainy day relaxation depending on the weather.

I hope your Sunday is delightful in some way.

06-07-2009, 08:03 AM
good morning! Today is suppose to be beautiful here. So, a nice walk at the park - they have great trails - and then yard work it is.... I also have a farm house door that I'm painting to turn into a headboard. Today might be the day that gets done too. HA!

I made the bean brownies yesterday. They were very tasty and I will not be making them again...I ate 4 small ones....but still I ATE 4! I woke up with a headache today. The brownies triggered eating foods I wouldn't normally eat. I didn't cheat so much as eat extra foods that I normally avoid. I think the sudden change causes some confusion in my system :) So back to the straight and narrow...I feel wonderful in my little narrow path - I just need to remember that when a plate of chocolate goodness calls my name!!

06-07-2009, 08:14 AM
Good morning :coffee2:

Ruth - :crossed: the rain holds off for you today though relaxation sounds wonderful too. How do you keep the bugs at bay on the porch?

Macsmom - I hope you will share a picture of that headboard when it's done. I have never gotten around to trying the bean brownies. Maybe I shouldn't ;)

I'm still very tired and a bit achy from yesterday so I'm starting the day slowly. It's definitely an errands, chores kind of day because nothing got done yesterday. I'm hoping for a nice walk this afternoon too, not 8 miles though!

Hope your day is relaxing and fun in just the right proportion.

06-07-2009, 09:03 AM
Good Morning:sunny:

Hope you all have a Super GreaT Sunday!! We're going to give it a shot here in Colorful Colorado.

Ruth, I hope you get your projects done but if now your relaxation is well earned.

Cyndi, I think its amazing how tired we can get having fun. Hope you get your errands done, then find yourself some relaxation time.

MM1, thanks for the recommendation on the brownies. I'm going to definitely NOT make them. I have made the WW Banana bread, which is great, too. What I have learned for me, is that being OP for a month has not given me the personal strength to eat a proper portion of a treat and I haven't lost enough yet to make an indisgression OK. You did good, I'm not sure I could say the same. Enjoy your walk-where do you live?

Me, did a bit of hiking last evening, and DH's DD made dinner. I hung out here because they were hosing a big bag of Doritos. It worked, they ate the whole bag and I had 0:cp: Everyone is sleeping, so the dogs and I are headed out to enjoy the morning. We're going through old pictures this morning and the kids want to go to the pool, so I'll get my exersise in. Yea!!!

Thanks for all your support! Made it yet another OP!

PS Cyndi, didn't recognize you! Beautiful flowers!

06-07-2009, 09:25 AM
oh my, I don't want to scare anyone away from the bean brownies! They were wonderful - but I'm coming to terms with the fact that sugar is my drug of choice. I behave irrationally when it's around! Having said that, they were not overly sweet and were just becomes a slippery slope for me.

Lex - I live in NC. I should update my profile! It has been a bit cooler this weekend. Very nice to be outside. I worked yesterday and was emotional beat at the end - so I'm starting today with a walk in the woods. That usually brings things back into focus.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

Happy Sunday, All!
Sounds like everyone is busy!!! I got up and did a little weeding in the gardens, then washed a jute rug outside..yuk. Going to work on powerpoints for school today and do a little cooking.

Yesterday, we just hung out in the morning recovering from Friday night, then rode over to a town close to here that has a "fresh market" store. Spent way too much money on "exotic" food, but it was fun and we have some neat stuff to eat this week.

Don't know what the rest of the day will bring. My husband works on Sundays and my son who still lives here is baby sitting his friend's dog for the weekend, so I have the day to myself. No idea who will show up for dinner tonight..I never know! Got some salmon burgers at the market yesterday so that's what they are having if they show.

Good morning ladies!!

Man, it's been a while since I've made my way over to the boards, great to see some familiar names and awesome to see some new ones as well!! Hopefully I'll be able to become a "semiregular"

Life has been crazy since I've last grandmother passed away a bit over 3 weeks ago after a 3 month rapid decline all sparked by a fall at her house...prior to the fall she was living independently for everything except driving and cooking due to her loss of vision. She was such a special lady, and still is. She will always be very close to my heart and I only hope that I can be half the woman she was while here on earth with us!!

I don't know if any of you remember me talking about the interesting dates I had been on....well....holy mackrel....they've only gotten worse!! I'm still trying to figure out why karma is sooooooooooooo ticked off at me!! lol.....after they're over it sure makes for a good laugh, and will definitely make for a good book one day!!

I've tried my best to be "good" with food choices over the last 3 months, but most days I failed miserably....just didn't care what I was putting in my mouth! I had an initial goal to reach by my 30th bday..which is coming up at the end of this month.....which I'm nowhere even close to it. So I've moved that goal to the end of the year and will just be happy where I am for now...I guess.

I need to get going....the dogs are ready for their walk and are very loudly reminding me of that!! haha

Happy sunday everybody!

06-07-2009, 03:05 PM
checking in here too! Sunday has been a peaceful morning thank goodness.

Ruth-hope you get some time for both.

Macsmom-would love to see the headboard when it is done. I am going to make the black bean brownies today to go to a bbq so I can have a dessert when everyone else is eating cake! I hope I can stop at 1 or 1 1/2!!!!

Cyndi-Sounds like a good time was had. Enjoy a slower pace today.

Lexxiss-Pool is on our schedule for today also! It is a bit cooler this week so I may weeny out of getting in higher than the knees.

Femme-Hope your day is peaceful

Mandy-Sorry to hear your life has been bumpy lately. The folks always welcome us "popping in" people back!

weekends seem to be diet unfriendly this month with all the open houses and weddings....and to top it off i'm throwing a baby shower in a couple weeks. i've learned however to take it in stride and not destroys months of work by giving in. i just get right back on track the next morning
