South Beach Diet - A Spring Weekend!

View Full Version : A Spring Weekend!

03-28-2009, 07:17 AM
It sure looks like April out there rather than still March! :carrot: There's still a bit of snow along the shady side of the lane and some ice in the shaded corner of the patio but it's looking good. We are actually in drought conditions for this time of year and may start hoping for rain soon.

The dogs got me up early today with a couple of choruses of howling. The wild critters (wolves and/or coyotes) were having a convention out in the woods and my darlings decided to contribute to the brouhaha! Of course, all the village dogs join in and it's actually quite funny. :D

Odds and sods to do today including baking a cake for Church coffee hour tomorrow and printing more Church Bulletins. (I forgot we are having a combined service for the three congregations.) I'm hoping my ink cartridge holds out because I sure don't want to drive to town to Staples on a Saturday!

So come and sit a while and chat about your weekend plans. :cofdate:

Morning, Ruthie.

Your area sounds absolutely blissful. I love the sound of coyotes.

Any idea what type of cake you're going to be baking?

Sorry I haven't been around much lately. With my mom being in town, it hasn't left me much time to do anything. As much as my mom being here is a blessing, it is nice to return back to our normal schedule.

Laundry to do this morning as I got behind this week. We're taking DS1 to see a noon showing of the new animated monster movie and then he is going with my MIL for dinner.

Have a great weekend, ladies.

03-28-2009, 07:34 AM
It's a Bacardi Rum Cake ( and is absolute :censored: Food Porn :censored:! I need to wait until eight when the store opens because I am out of eggs but will get right to it after that. The cake is much better after 24 hours as it gets a chance to soak up all the rum!

03-28-2009, 07:36 AM
Morning, you two early birds!

Zeff, that Rum Cake recipe of Ruth's is the best ever! I know there won't be a crumb of it left, Ruthie.

Monica, Caite & Carley came out late last night to spend the night, and we're getting ready to go out for breakfast at the Amish Smorgasbord before going up to Reading to the outlets for a day of shopping. Caitlyn needs jeans badly before she heads back to school tomorrow, and we're going to shop til we drop! Jake is coming along to keep Carley entertained.

I'll be back later (and much broker) this afternoon. Have a great Saturday!

03-28-2009, 07:47 AM
Good morning :coffee2: Wow, it must really be spring. I got my first email allergy alert of the year. My eyes are itchy so I already knew what it said :) Oh, and there is no visible snow from my computer window!

Ruth - I've been woken up on camping trips by coyotes howling. It's such a wild, eerie sound. I've also lain awake listening to loons though so maybe that's me. The cake sounds positively decadent and I'm not even going to look at the recipe. Hope you are able to get out and enjoy the weather today.

Zeff - I missed you but glad you had a nice visit with Mom.

Cottage - Good morning  Have a fun family shopping day

I thought about a bird trip today but would rather spend time in my garden and yard. I'm going to take my bike out later for a ride too. I've been itching to do that for weeks but the road was so wet I resisted. I'm going to clean the gardens, put the cold frame up to warm one, and plant peas in another. I love spring :)

03-28-2009, 08:07 AM
We are still way too cold and soggy for gardening but soon..... No sight or sound of loons quite yet, Cyndi. We are blessed with very clean lakes and I look forward to their eerie cries every year.

03-28-2009, 09:24 AM
good morning ladies... ive been up for a while but couldnt drag myself outta bed lol.... last night the house was freezzing, and i took the heating pad to bed to get warm lol...
ruth-- i keep seeing in the paper and hearing on the news that the coyotes are getting brave and coming into the city here... they are telling people to watch their animals and children. so the howl of one would probably scare me lol... the other day my friend text me and said "ah stacy, you better keep an eye on maggie, i just watched a hawk circling her" lol scarey but also would be funny to watch a big bird carrying my dawg away :lol3: yes im in a twisted mood today lol.

cottage-- broke or not shopping is fun! have a great time!

cyndi--have fun gardening, and take care of those allergies girl

zeff-- nice to have relatives come visit, but also nice when they leave. its funny how one house guest can mess up your whole schedule. that happens to me too... i feel obligated to sit and entertain and nothing gets done lol

well i guess thats it for personals.... i just heard savannah wake up, so i must get going... have a great day on the beach gals...

Good Morning!!!
It's storming here and we are in for the day, so I thought I'd buzz in to say hey! Just a few more weeks and I'll be out of school and can be active on the list again.

Hurt myself a couple of weeks ago by popping my thigh bone out of the hip socket and have not been able to go to the about withdrawals! (note to NOT ever do the "twist" with second graders again!) I tried just doing the treadmill earlier this week and it hurt like h*ll a few hours later, so will wait a few more days before trying again. Told my husband I'm scared of breaking out in fat again, but so far, no weight gain. I just feel sluggish.

Keep dry and warm!!!

03-28-2009, 10:33 AM
morning all,
i'm sitting here dealing with cramps today so not doing much more than catching up and drinking water. i've been getting to the gym alot more this week so the scale is being nice to me. hopefully it keeps it up. my dd is here so still debating what we are gonna do today. especially since its supposed to snow tommorrow and possibly freezing rain...ugg

03-28-2009, 10:41 AM
Good Saturday morning, everyone! The coffee is hot and the oatmeal delicious, so I hope you'll pull up a seat and join me.

Ruth: I do hope a Saturday run to Staples is not in your forecast. I'll be joining Cyndi in the "I won't be viewing that recipe" club. It sounds divine!

Zeffryn: I know what you mean about family coming to visit. It's wonderful to see them and spend time with them, but our routines get so off-track it makes me dizzy! Lol! I'm glad you had a nice visit and that things are getting back to normal. How is the blogging venture going for you?

Cottage: How wonderful your weekend sounds! Poor Jake, though, with that house full of women! Enjoy shopping and your time with the family!

Cyndi: I'm itching to get into the garden as well, but it won't be this weekend. I've still got to recover from last weekend! Enjoy your ride!

Stacy: We used to have to keep my little dachshund on a leash because a hawk did dive at him once! :yikes: And then an owl moved in and started eyeing him as well. Thankfully, we moved not to long after that. That's sad about the coyotes. I think they're beautiful creatures, but they can be a nuisance animal. I don't think you have to worry about your kiddos, though. I've been around coyotes all my life and they're more scared of humans than you'd believe. I hope you have a great day!

Cat: So nice to "see" you around again! I look forward to hearing from you more often when school lets out. I do miss the pics of LA that you always share! Sorry about your hip; I can't imagine how badly that must have hurt!!! Take it easy!

ETA: me4life: I hope you have a wonderful day! Great job getting to the gym so much!!! It's nice when the scale acknowledges all our hard work, isn't it?

Me: It's been a glorious start to my Saturday so far. The washer is already going, I'm dressed and the dogs have been fed, brushed and medicated. DH and I are going to go to the hardware store for some stone pavers to set up a permanent dog-washing area in the back yard today. The big one's allergies and dry skin are going to necessitate more frequent bathing with an oatmeal shampoo. He's started getting daily fish oil pills and he loves them, so that should help as well.

Other than that, it's ww homemade pizza night tonight, so no dinner prep for me. I've got to run to my Sunday School classroom and make sure everything is set up the way I need it for tomorrow. I have a long, tough workout planned today, but that's pretty much it! An easy Saturday is in the works for me!!

Okay, okay. Time to get moving again! I hope everyone to come has a wonderful day!

03-28-2009, 10:59 AM
Morning all, happy spring!

Ruth: Please do share that recipe (although I can't imagine an appropriate place on the SBD board). It sounds yummy!

Zeffryn: Welcome back to your normal routine. Enjoy the movie :)

Cottage: Enjoy the day of shopping. Amish Smorgasboard and Reading Markets give me flashbacks to weekends in Amish Country I would spend with my family when I was a kid. I grew up in Jersey, so it was not a far trip, and I swear we seemed to go there every single summer. We'd stay at Willow Valley, and tour the Anderson Pretzel Factory. Ahh, memories

Cyndi: Enjoy the bike ride and the weather!

Stacy: Good morning! Hope today is a bit less stressful than yesterday

FemmeCreole: Haha, the twist is something with a permanent spot on my "never to again" list. Along with jumping jack. never. again.

Me4Life: Enjoy the day... lazy saturdays are the best kind!

Kim: Have a great saturday with dogs... what kind/how many do you have?

As for me... BF is at work all day today (he works for CBS college sports, so with March Madness in full swing, he's working 80-hour weeks... I never see him in March), so I am on my own. I'm meeting some friends for lunch at a Yemenite restaurant; I've never had Yemenite before, but it's my best friend's boyfriend's heritage, so I trust him to take us to a good spot. Then it's a group trader joe's run. I am the only one of my friend's with a car, so I call then shots on when we go to Trader Joes, and it's usually a group outing. Tonight we have a birthday party to go to in Manhattan... I am thinking of driving in, I don't plan on drinking and options for getting back to Queens late night are awful... the subway runs so erratically, and a cab ride would cost at least $20. Still, I am petrified of driving in Manhattan, so we shall see...

Have a great day!

03-28-2009, 12:18 PM
Good morning chicks. It still is morning, only just. I did the epilepsy walk this morning with the kids, 3 miles in the drizzly rain. Now I am warming up and drying out with some soup and coffee while DH takes the kids to their riding lesson. Cleaning was on the agenda but I don't think I'll be able to get anyone motivated after our busy morning. Maybe we'll hit it fresh in the morning and I'll figure out something else productive to do this afternoon. No idea what to fix for dinner. A movie would be fun tonight, hopefully the kids will not ask to have anyone over tonight, they need an early night and some sleep, I think.

Happy girls' day out cottage. I may do some shopping, but the grocery type, not the fun kind.
swan, I seem to remember a food porn thread not long ago and I think Ruth posted her cake.
Kim, I would not call a long hard workout an easy day, but that's just me.
Hope you find something fun to do with your daughter today me4life.
Hi Cat!! Must be old home week, first weezle, now you. Now we just need Nessa and kara.
Have a great day stacy.
Cyndi, planting already, that's great. DH seems to be on board with the raised beds, so we'll have to get those in soon so we can get stuff in the ground. Won't be happening this weekend though.
Glad you had a good week with your mom, zeff. That movie looks cute.
Ruth, wish I could send you some rain. I want some sun!

03-28-2009, 01:12 PM
Morning. I apparently don't sleep well when I'm alone anymore. It's just been too long. So, I'm a bit poopered out today.

We're supposed to get 3-5 inches of snow tonight. WHAT?!?!?!?!?! That displeases me. Fortunately, it'll be 41 tomorrow and 56 Monday, but still. Honestly. It's almost April. I worry about my Tommy driving home tomorrow now. I don't want him to wait until Monday!

Well, think I'm going to make a few phone calls and try to set up appointments for next week. I think a mug of green tea will help. I haven't really talked to anyone yet except 2 hours ago when Tom called me so my voice needs a little work. I'll pop in later!

03-28-2009, 02:32 PM
Ruth: I had my first buzz when I was in the 7th grade -- eating rum balls at Christmas. Rum cake would bring back memories. :)

Swandive: March... Sheesh! If DH is in the room, basketball is on the tv!

Weezle: We don't have a weather radio. I only want to know if a tornado is on my head, not across the state! We're those bad people who when a siren goes off, we go stand on the back porch to see the tornado. I know, I know...

Me: This morning, I taught my last Saturday class! WooHooo!!! Instead of having Jazzercise on Tues, Thurs and Sat, we are moving to Mon, Tues and Thurs. I'm hoping that will make for better attendance.

Today is my FIL's 70th birthday. We had his official birthday party last weekend. I guess when you are under 20 and over 65, you get to celebrate your birthday for a long time. :) We're going to his favorite seafood restaurant tonight. Lots of healthy choices.

You all have a great weekend. April is coming!

03-28-2009, 03:05 PM

I booked 4 appointments! YAY! Would've booked more (had hoped for 7) but have to get to one at 2. Wish me luck! See you in awhile!

Oh, and tsk tsk tsk Chelby! I'm the first one in the bathtub and/or basement! Too many close calls!

03-28-2009, 04:25 PM
chelby... cant remember who did it, but, theres a comedian out there who does a skit on tornadoes and southern folks... lmao, bubba git in tha house, theres a cumin of a tornada!!! you fit the decription gal.... johns the same way... he relaxes till he thinks theres danger then he kicks it into high geer... so i watch him... if he freaks, i freak lol... we get tornadoes up here too... not as bad or as many but we get em, and i lose my ever loving mind every time theres a storm... last summer we had record storms, it was crazy!! this year better be better or im gonna start takin nerve pills lol... i watch the weather channel like an idiot, and run outside and study the sky... seen a funnel cloud last year and i swear my heart stopped. ive always said i was a southern gal in a previous life and i must of died by tornado... cuz since i was little ive been terrified of storms. i mean, drag the kids down to the basement, get food, water and clothes in bags and cry till its over kind of terrified lol.... john thinks i have mental problems :lol3:
and hes JUST figuring this out??!!??!! lol

have a great day, stay safe!!

stacy x0x

03-28-2009, 06:01 PM
Best trip to Trader Joes EVER... as I was checking out, the cashier commented that I had, by far, the healthiest cart he'd seen all day. I was so proud of myself, I felt like I had won a prize!!!

03-28-2009, 06:35 PM
Stacy, as the daughter of a meteorologist, it's very odd but I'm the same way as you! The first several times I was left home alone as a child, torandos came through too close to home. That's what started it. I add rocking like Rain Man to your description above. Then we had the two tornados come through town and destroy a good part of Springfield 3 years ago. Only 1 so far this year and it only did a little damage. Hopefully we miss a bunch of them.

Looks like snow for us tonight. Oy. At least they dropped it to 2-4 inches. I'm going out anyway. My boys are out of town, Abdul's in town, and I'm going out on the town! I haven't gone out since..... uh.... well it's been over a year at least. Will be nice to socialize a little and see the comedy show.

Had a great appointment this afternoon! I AM BLESSED! Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful evening!!!

03-28-2009, 06:40 PM
Hello all,

Sounds like everyone is having a wonderful day today. We have nothing but rain which is supposed to turn into snow this evening, please I am done with that stuff.

We went to the St. Louis Science Center that was fun today and then we went to Spaghetti Factory and I was not good. I need to kick my butt in gear for food eating.

Have a nice evening everyone

03-28-2009, 07:47 PM
Hi everyone. I hope it is okay to just jump in here.

It's a rainy weekend here, so I am just planning out my menu for next week (I am just getting started again on SBD, or back on it seriously) so starting over with Phase 1.

And, Stacy, your southern storm story was funny, and so true for most. This southern girl for some reason is not too much bothered by storms. They are kind of fun as long as you are in for the night. We are getting some now, actually.

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

03-28-2009, 09:45 PM
Hi Meeko! Welcome to the group! Jump in anywhere you want! I love a good thunderstorm, too.

We went to a great seafood restaurant for dinner. I ate too much, but it was so good!

03-29-2009, 07:54 AM
Happy Sunday morning!

I dreamt of the blasted rum cake last night so it's a good thing it slept out in the car. The recipe is in the Food PORN Thread ( but I strongly suggest you NOT look at it.

Church isn't until 10:30 this morning so I have time for a nice soak in the tub before I toddle off to Church. It's raining so I won't be taking a dog - we don't need muddy paws. This afternoon will be an "inside job" of some sort, not sure what yet. I'm still trying to get a handle on next week's busy schedule and need five more people to man (or woman) the daffodil selling. I foresee a lot of time on the phone.

I hope your Sunday is full of good things including sunshine or sunny thoughts.

03-29-2009, 08:50 AM
morning all i managed to get up and on the computer before my daughter today which is amazing feet since she is usually an early riser. we were supposed to get 2-4 inches of snow but although the ground is white i'd say we got less than an inch and looks like its already melting...yeah.

03-29-2009, 09:07 AM
Good morning :coffee2: Short post this morning. Yesterday my keyboard had a seltzer incident so I am adjusting to a new keyboard this morning. The only extra in the house is ergonomic so quite an adjustment for someone who doesn't touch type.

Ruth - It's rainy here too. I totally neglected house chores yesterday in the nice weather so need to stay in today. Hope everyone really appreciates your cake this morning :)

me - sorry about the white ground cover but glad it's going away quickly.

Okay, long list staring at me today. Have a good day Chicks

03-29-2009, 09:24 AM
I don't qualify as an early riser this morning, I slept until 7:30. Even the aroma of coffee brewing couldn't lure me out of my snug, cozy nest. :) It's a dark, wet, gloomy looking day outside, so it's a good morning for sleeping in, anyway.

We had a super day yesterday and it was great to spend one more day with Caitlyn before her spring break was over. :) I probably won't see her again until June.

There's no plans on the agenda for today. I'll go visit mom & dad this morning, and DS and family will be over later for supper, if we don't go out. We have some gift certificates for The Cheesecake Factory that we have to use up, and Jake mentioned going today. We'll see.

Have a great Sunday, everyone!

03-29-2009, 10:00 AM
A quickie chicks, as DH wants to skype his maman.
Today we must do the cleaning we did not do yesterday. Laundry too. And I am filling the crock pot with enough cabbage rolls to last me the week. Then DD2 has some girl scout thing and we are taking DD1 to dinner for her 22nd birthday. Gray and ugly here. Have a good one!

03-29-2009, 10:01 AM
Last Sunday in March?! Can you believe it?!

Ruth: I hope you enjoy your soak and have a wonderful time at church. Good luck getting 5 more helpers by this weekend! Sounds like quite a challenge!

me: I'm glad the snow wasn't too terrible for you and that it's already melting. Enjoy your day!

Cyndi: Bummer about your keyboard; I'm a touch-typer and still hate those ergonomic ones. Hope you get all of your house chores done!

Cottage: I'm glad you enjoyed your time with Caitlyn. I LOVE The Cheesecake Factory. My favorite meal there is the crab-cakes with edamame. It's just delicious!

ETA: , Schmoodle! Enjoy what sounds like a very busy day!

Me: Not much here. I'm eating right now and will be hitting the shower in about 30 minutes. Today's my first day teaching Sunday School. I'm not nervous yet, but I'm sure I will be once I get there. My biggest worry is running out of time, but I'm going to do my best to keep us on schedule. It just depends on what my kids are like. I'm sure that my worries will dissipate as I get to know the class better.

Other than that, it's bath day for the dogs; yesterday was a bit chilly and today our high is supposed to be 80. I've got the usual weekly planning to do as well; menu, what I'm wearing, what needs to get done when. I've also got another good workout planned and would like to spend some time doing yoga on the Wii Fit.

Well, off to browse internet land until it's time to get moving!

03-29-2009, 10:31 AM
Good morning everyone,

Just finished eating breakfast, we just got a dusting of snow last night it is supposed to be sunny today we shall see, want to do outside activities.

Have a great day

03-29-2009, 11:10 AM
Good morning everyone.

Chelby: thanks for the welcome. I think I am really going to like it here.

Ruth-I looked at that rum cake recipe. MMMMMMM! One day, I will add to the food porn thread. For now, it is best I stay away. Heehee.

me4life: I can't imagine still having to deal with snow. I wish a lot of times that we would get more snow, but then I realize I would probably get tired of it quickly.

Cyndi: I am always paranoid about my keyboard or computer being ruined by drinks. Mainly because I have a cat who thinks it is his mission in life to turn over every single cup he gets his paws near. I am glad you had a back up, but I am sure it is an adjustment.

Cottage: I think 7:30 qualifies as an early riser. At least in my world. ;)

Schmoodle: it was gray and nasty here yesterday, so I feel your pain. Cabbage rolls in the crock pot sound good. Have you posted that recipe anywhere?

Kim: I understand the planning thing to do today. I will be cooking and cleaning to get ready for the week later today/tonight myself. Have fun with dog bath day. I don't have dogs, but I have been telling one of my cats she is getting a bath for almost a week now and have not yet done it. I am not a glutton for punishment I guess. ;)

Pearlrose: Have fun outside today. I think spring fever is hitting us all.

03-29-2009, 11:14 AM
Hey Ladies
Ruth I will not be looking at your cake recipe since just the thought has me droooling.
yeah its a ph 1 day I havn't eaten yet or had anything not been up to long as DH took me to the ER last night for Asthma. . . note to self when the pollens high don't clean the garage and go to the dump and expect to breathe!
Me4 Don't you love alone time in the AM it's such a gift!!
Cyn I can't tell you how many time's I've had an assorted Beverage incident! I don't touch type either. . . .unless it's gibberish!
Cottage so glad you had a good time with Caitlin!!
Schmoo can I throw my laundry in with yours it's super Schmutzy here too!
Kim Good Luck with your class!!!
Pearl it sounds pretty!!

So just working on the list now
then on to fresh spinach and EGGS!

03-29-2009, 12:29 PM
Good morning, all!

Had a late night in the city last night... BF talked me out of driving me in by reminding me how annoying it would be to have to pack 5+ intoxicated people into the car on the ride home. No way. So we sucked it up and took a ($25) cab. Ugh.

Because of that I am thinking of backing out on brunch plans today... just went food shopping yesterday and have a fridge full of good stuff, so I would feel bad spending money on eating out. Also, it's sooo gloomy here, I don't know if I'll muster the energy to head back into the city. BF is working again alll day, so I may head out to Long Island for a little mall shopping. We shall see.

Kim- Hope sunday school went well, I am sure you did great!

03-29-2009, 12:57 PM
Where did spring go? We actually have a fire in the fireplace! Brrr!! It's 45 outside, windy and cloudy. I don't like it! I'm sure your northerners think I'm a weenie! :)

At the flea market, there were the most beautiful watermelon I've seen since last summer. They were out of Mexico. I almost bought one, but I refrained. Watermelon is one of my favorite treats of summer.

Tomorrow night, the Bunko group meets at my house. Fun, Fun! I have to come up with a menu. I'm thinking taco salad or maybe roast beef sandwiches? Gotta clean house today!

You guys stay warm!

03-29-2009, 01:18 PM

Morning. I got to bed at MIDNIGHT last night. I remember why I don't go out on the town much anymore. OY! I am so tired. But....

MY BOYS COME HOME TODAY!!!!!!! :carrot:

I have a Pampered Chef show to go to at 1 so I'd probably better start getting cleaned up. I'm a little slow-moving today. I think it was the Key Lime Pie Martini..... (I KNOW I KNOW. Back on the wagon today, if I can catch it.)

Hope everyone has a fabulous Sunday! I'll pop in later!

PS We got the snow they forcasted. Grrrrrr.

03-29-2009, 04:07 PM
Well, the house is clean (enough), hooray! DD isn't sure if she wants to go out for dinner or just have something here. I've invited my parents, so I may end up with an unplanned dinner party. She's saying pizza and apple crisp, which would not be much trouble at all, but that doesn't sound celebratory enough for me!

meek, I haven't posted a recipe for cabbage rolls, but I know there are a couple posted. It's the kind of thing I don't use a recipe for, just depends on what I have on hand. For this batch, I mixed up brown rice (cooked), a little leftover ground beef, some TVP, chopped onion, garlic, green pepper, an egg, and some spicy V8, with some Worcestershire. Rolled it up in steamed cabbage leaves and layered in the crock pot with a can of crushed tomatoes, red pepper flakes, and some more V8. I'm glad I put it on because if we end up staying in for pizza, at least I'll have something to eat.

03-29-2009, 05:10 PM
Hi Chickies,
I'm back. Had a wonderful time looking after my 19 month old grandson. He is so wonderful. Can't believer how much knowledge he has acquired in the 7 months I haven't seen him. I also did all the cooking. The first week (beginning of March)was the coldest week of the year so I was so happy that DH was along. We went to the mall and indoor playground alot. We had one wonderful day in Canmore, Alta. its on the tip of the Rockies and with the beautiful mountains and the purest snow I have seen, you could easily fall in love with winter.
My daughter passed her Flight Center tests and is now working for them and did very well the first week. Sold a couple of tickets to Australia.
She has a very small two bedroom condo so when we came home, DH and I lived on separate floors for a while.
I don't know what my weight says, but will do some serious beaching before I step on the scale.
Nice to see some new faces and the familiar ones.
Oh yea, I must have missed spring because my crazy neighbour was out working shirtless yesterday. What a guy. He's very kind and helpful to everyone just crazy.
take care

03-29-2009, 05:57 PM
Hi Sophie  Sounds like a lovely visit. It's nice to see you again :)

03-29-2009, 07:02 PM
They're HOME!!!!! Got great big huggers, and now Little Guy is playing the Wii and Tom is doing his thing, so I'm going to go to my parents' and visit with my mom. Eh. Nice to have them home though! I already have things to pick up!

Had fun at the Pampered Chef show, and booked a show of my own, made $30, and networked with a bunch of women I'd never met. Not a bad day!

Hope everyone has a fabulous evening!

03-29-2009, 09:07 PM
Yesterday I spent all day at a Merit Badge college with Brian. It was in the 30's with a high wind and snow flurries! In Dallas when it's almost April? It's rare.

Today started cold but warmed up. We went to a FC Dallas soccer game with scouts and it ended up warming up and now I'm sunburned. I just never think of sunscreen when it's in the 30's. I should know better by now.

Time to go eat my grilled tilapia and fresh steamed veggies.

03-29-2009, 09:16 PM
Today was a total failure of a day... went to go drive to the mall, and the car's low coolant light was on. Now, I am sure that this is a relatively simple thing to take care of, but I am so clueless when it comes to cars that I aborted mall plans and figured I'd let BF worry about it when he came home. So I decided I'd go to Macy's in the city instead... and I walked to the subway, and realized I had left my subway card in my other jacket pocket.

So I took this as a sign, headed home, and have been vegging on the couch ever since. Oh well...
