Hi Guys -- just sitting here drinking my 20th glass of water today to try and avoid frowny faces at weigh in tomorrow... :)

Congrats on the loss Jibbelle!

By the way, what's up with this bloodletting thing? I hate to tell you, but I think your centers my be run by vampires. Hmmm.

20 glasses!! Now that is a lot of water! I hope you have a great weigh in bunny!

Thanks for starting a new thread Diane. The other was getting a bit long.

I have no fun and exciting news to report. I am leaving for my parents on Friday afternoon....spending the weekend with them at the lake. I can not wait!!!! I am taking a bag of apples/oranges, my melba toast and fat free dressing. :) I plan on being a very good girl over the weekend. Then I am on vacation all of next week!!! WOOOHOOO

Hi! I had a great weigh in yesterday! I'm down 7.4 lbs. in a week (that can't be possible, can it?). Well, it would definitely be nice to have the first 10 go quickly, even if the last 20-25 are a crawl.

I have a new feature:

New Rule(s) Imposed at my Last Weigh-In
• You must eat every three hours
• You must eat larger meals earlier in the day

Stay tuned for more new food rules from LAWL!

:) Have a great weekend!

Wow bunny I am lucky if I lose 7 pounds for a month never mind a week, Great Job.

I never had any blood taken either is it something new that they do?
This weekend the councelor is having me do: No limited starches or beef and have one of the cold drinks ( not the shakes)
instead of two bars a day. I am going to see what happens.
Jibbelle have a great weekend. I hope the weather is nice.

Wow Bunny! That is great!!

The weather was cold and rainy all weekend, but I still had a nice visit with my parents. It was good to get away. I am on vacation all week, so I will probably make it to the center Tues, Thurs, and Saturday. My scale says I am down a couple pounds, but I guess I will find out tomorrow!

Today is errand/appt day....dentist, vet, walmart, groceries, nursery...so I better get started! Have a great day all!

Hi all! Thanks for the encouragement.

I was not so good this weekend, but I do have to say that I could have been worse. I had a party on Saturday night and a pseudo-date on Sunday. Haven't weighed yet this week -- I'll probably wait until Wednesday.

Diane -- I'd love to see your before & after pictures. I imagine that you must look and feel *great* after shedding 60 lbs. I think I'd be inspired to see your progress if you feel like posting them.

I've had two sessions with my personal trainer now (Amber, or, as I like to call her "She who enjoys the pain of others"), and I highly recommend it. She is really putting me through my paces, and I can see where I was slacking off when leaving exercise up to my own devices. Personally, I prefer to be proud for just setting foot in the gym so as to not obsess over it, but leaving my workout up to someone else (especially some who, as noted, enjoys the pain of others) is really helping me exercise without stressing about how I'm doing. :strong:

Good luck this week, everyone, and keep on glugging!

Hi everyone :)

I joined LA Weight Loss about 3.5 weeks ago, and so far it's been a good experience. I am a 22-year-old college student, and I weighed in at 189lbs at the beginning of the program. My goal is 135.

I weigh in again tomorrow and I'm a little worried since I lost my willpower yesterday and had a piece of gingerbread. oops!

My big problems come with binging. I am trying to break the habit of eating when I'm stressed or depressed.

Anyway, nice to be here :)

I know how hard it is to work on that when you're in school! (It's been a while, but I do still remember). If you ever need to talk, vent, whateva, we're here.

Welcome!

Welcome YT! I think there are a few binge eaters here...so maybe we can keep each other company. :)

Bunny-
It sounds like you are really enjoying your personal trainer. I really need to think about getting one!! Between work and school I just do not have time to work out faithfully though. I hope things at work slow down soon...maybe then I can get back to a daily workout routine.

I am meeting a good friend from college tomorrow for lunch....and of course she picked an italian restaurant!!! Will have to eat get one with plenty of shrimp or chicken and veggies....and pick it out of the pasta. Thankfully I have not had my limited starch yet this week!

I'm into my second week at LA Weightloss. I can't find a few items that they have listed as starches. Can anyone give me a hint on where to find them in the grocery stores?
The are: Melba Toast, Akmak Crackers, Kavli Crispy Bread

I also found the Stella D'oro Bread sticks but not ones that say "diet". Are these easy to find?

Do any of you LA Veterans have any snack suggestions? What keeps you in line? I was given a few bags of the popcorn and cheesecurls and fruit drink "complimentary"!! Is this something they all do and try to act as if it's between you and her or do they do this to everyone?

Thanks!

Jibbelle

In our grocery store the melba toast is with the croutons and salad dressing. The Akmak and Kavli are in the deli...who knows why?? I have never tried either of them, but I eat lots of melba toast.

I use my nu lights as snacks usually. When I was on the red plan I had a bar for a midmorning snack and a bar or shake for an afternoon snack. Now that I am on purple I have a bar for breakfast and an orange or apple for midmorning snack.

When I joined they gave me one of all the snacks, breakfast bars, and delights. They also gave me 2 boxes of bars...that I picked. I had tons of stuff. I have never purchased any of the popcorn or cheese curls. I would rather use my starch as part of a meal than a snack. I also have never purchased the delights...but I remember that I liked them alot! I think they are a fruit and a starch like the breakfast bars.

Thanks jibbelle! I found the Melba Toast and the Akmak crackers.
I just ate my serving of Melba Toast. Their not bad! But, do you stay with the 2 pieces?? It says 5 on the box is a serving.

Yesterday, after trading my Trimax in for bars. (I had a bad reaction to either the Trimax or the other that they sell with it). I was sick and nauseated all night. So, I took them back and put them on the table and said I couldn't take them anymore. (especially since I paid over $100 for them. They did allow me to put that money towards bars. I'm glad I won't have to listen to the sales pitch for a few weeks!!! I think I got the 10 box deal. But, they won't let you take them home with you. Her excuse is they receive them fresh daily. How much of a fib is that!

Today will be day 2 to find a food scale. I was already on my second when I mistakingly left it on my counter. Next thing ya know I hear a crash and my 4 year old yelling "I didn't do it!"

Jibbelle
05-01-2002, 11:33 AM
Melba toast comes in slices and round cracker like things. The slices are 2/serving, but I usually buy the round crackers and eat 5 like it says on the box.

bunnyblues

That's pretty funny! (about the 4-year-old meets the food scale)

Guys, I am putting off weighing because I'm up at home. I don't know if it's the weight training or what, but I just can't *stand* to go in there and be up.

I just went to the center and was up a little...I know it is because it is that time of the month and I ate out yesterday. Have a little water rentention that should be ok by Saturday.

There is a new lady that works at our center...she sucks. I hope she doesnt stay long!

alexisandaaronsmom

I agree that 2 melba toasts are not enough. I also got the Kavli bread but haven't opened it yet. I figure I'm only allowed 2 starches a day. I'll wait.
Also, what's the difference of the different color plans. I'm on Purple.
I also started to stick my bars in the fridge. I like them cold and hard. I really like the chocolate mint. And, I hate the whole bar idea. What are everyone's favorite bars or items at the Center?
Would love to know!

bunnyblues
05-01-2002, 02:29 PM
For me, I'll take any two boxes as long as they're chocolate crunch and chocolate crunch. Mmmmmm. They taste the most like real candy bars to me.

xYTx
05-01-2002, 02:51 PM
I love the chocolate peanut butter ones :) They taste enough like real candy to keep me from pigging out on Reese's cups or something. The chocolate crunch are also pretty good :)

I HATE the honey nougat. TOO sweet! Has anyone tried the mixed berry ones?

bunnyblues
05-01-2002, 02:54 PM
Ewww. I actually had my plan modified to take out the fruit. I do *not* like fruit.

Jibbelle
05-01-2002, 03:43 PM
If you do not like the honey nougat you DEFINATELY will not like the berry or lemon. It is like eating one giant skittle. Very sweet. My favorite is the chocolate crunch and double chocolate. I also like the chocolate shakes. As a matter of fact...I am going to make one now for an afternoon snack. :)

Yum.

I myself had an Asian chicken salad for lunch -- it wasn't until I brought it back to work from Applebee's that I realized it was fried. Now I know why I haven't used my fats for the past few days -- they all went down the drain with my salad. But it was Goooooooooood. Mmmmm.

Jibbelle
05-01-2002, 05:21 PM
Sounds yummy bunny. We are going out to dinner somewhere tomorrow night....have not decided where yet. I am thinking a Japanese steakhouse/habachi where they grill the foods at the table. It is all veggies and lean meats...can go easy on the rice and dipping sauces.

bunnyblues
05-01-2002, 05:52 PM
I know I get busted for Lean Cuisines -- but there are two new ones that are unREAL. Both are Thai-inspired: Thai Chicken and Chicken in Peanut Sauce. I eat those, and I swear I can't believe they're frozen. A long way from boiling noodles and sauce in two separate bags on the stove!

alexisandaaronsmom
05-02-2002, 12:44 PM
I just had my first chocolate crunch. It wasn't too bad.

What do you do when you go out for dinner? I have a dinner at a rest. on Saturday night. I'm wondering if I shouldn't eat till then. ( I mean on Saturday morning/afternoon. Not today and Friday. Hahaha! ) And, how do you eat the lean cuisine dinners for example and figure how much protein, starch, etc... you are eating?

bunnyblues
05-02-2002, 01:01 PM
Hi! Well, I have a guide that I got at the center that tells me what frozen dinners to eat, although the new ones aren't in there yet. But each ne counts as 1 protein and 1 starch. I get in trouble for them because they're pretty high in sodium, so I drink lots of extra water when I eat one.

The frozen dinner guide also comes with an eating out guide, which makes it easier to select portions. I wouldn't wait til dinner to eat. But usually I just pick a chicken or fish with a green veggie side or a big grilled chicken salad, watching out for dressings/croutons/cheese, etc.

Hi All:
I think I have decided to tell them at La that I want to go on stablization, a little disappointed with myself but I think I have come so far that I can't complain. I do have three weight loss weeks left that I will use and see what happens but I am ready to move on. At the center I am 140.8 and in the morning at home I am 138.5 not to bad.
Bunny I do feel better but I am not sure I would be a good inspiration. I have had a lot of ups and downs along the way and it is taking me so darn long to finish. But when I do decide to say I am finished I will do a before and after and see what all of you think.
My mother is on the program also and she was telling me that she is having soy nuts every day and I told her that I did not think that they were allowed, she told me one of the councelors said she could have them and I asked what to they count as. She said she was not counting them as anything, I told her maybe that is why you are not losing. She had been back for a month and has not lost. I told her maybe she should not have them any more.
have a great night
Diane

bunnyblues
05-02-2002, 04:29 PM
Diane! Don't be disappointed! You have made it, girl.

And that thing about the soy nuts is hilarious. That's like -- ok, you can have reese's peanut butter cups, but ONLY reese's, as a snack, and they're a free calorie. Eat as many as you want. Otherwise, only eat lean chicken, fresh vegetables.....

I definately wouldnt skip breakfast and lunch on the day you eat out. When you skip a meal it just slows down your metabolism...then you go eat a big meal, and your body is slow to burn it off. Eat like you normally would, but save limited foods so you have more to pick from when you eat out. Also drink water with your meal and a little extra when you get home. You need to ask at the center for the Fast Food/Dining Out/Frozen Meal guide....I think they call it the Fast Tracker now. It has lots of restaurants....you can get an idea of what to eat, and what to count it as at any restaurant.

Diane-
You have done such a great job at losing!! I think your body likes where it is at now. I am afraid that if you lost more, you may have trouble maintaining it. You may have better luck with stabilization and maintenance where you are now. You have done wonderful!! Keep it up. :smug:

Well...I got bad news. My group got the corporate box at the Cardinals (baseball) game this afternoon. There were twelve of us. I passed on the beer, wine, liquor, chips, dips, hot dogs, etc....but then the dessert cart came and I ate chocolate suicide cake...and not just a bite...but the whole piece!!!! It was incredible, but now not only do I feel sick, but I feel guilty!! Everyone else got something and I had to have some too. Of course I was going to eat a bite or two and stop...but well..that didnt happen!! BAD BAD BAD Marcie. So what do I count that as?? Fat serving for the month?? I have done so well the past few days too. I am not going to the center until Saturday, so I guess I better take up jogging till then. How many miles to burn that slice of cake off??? :dizzy:

Bunny--I go today to get weighed in. I'm going to ask about that guide. Thanks for letting me know.
Also, how much sodium is too much? Is there so much someone should have in a day??

bunnyblues
05-03-2002, 01:31 PM
Well, I weighed in today and had gained a pound since last week. Yuck. But I did drink about 32 ounces of water before going in, so I'm just going to stay on track and go weigh in again MOnday. I also bought the cookbook so I can find something to eat besides chicken & broccoli, chicken & squash & chicken & salad. Bleh.

Diane2, I'm surprised they haven't given you any more instruction than you've gotten. I've been beaten to death with instructions about eating at certain times of day (not too close to bedtime), eating every 3 hours, staying away from sodium (i.e. no lunchmeat), not eating 2 proteins or 2 starches in the same meal etc. etc. They need to get with the program and give you all the materials you need:

What I have:
journal
food card
little instruction pamphlet with "tips"
fast-tracker

xYTx
05-03-2002, 02:21 PM
I weigh in today, too... I'm worried though. It's so discouraging to me when I'm up that I just want to go eat something, so it's always a rough day if that happens. I guess we'll see!

I didn't get the tips book or the fast track either. I also have no idea how much sodium is too much, I was just told not to have sodium except Morton's Light Salt. I wasn't given any particular instructions about when to eat or which exchanges I can't have together in meals. I guess my center isn't on top of it, either. Oooops!

DianeD, we're in the same state, too, but different centers... I wonder what that means?

bunnyblues
05-03-2002, 05:53 PM
I know what you mean! I dread weighing, I dread them talking to me about it -- not because I'm hurt or anything but because I get it in my head that it's not working and then go nuts and want to eat eat eat more than I even would *normally*. But I read something on someone's post about that part of you that wants to binge out being a naughty little child. So when I was at Kroger today eyeing the brownies, I told myself --- "I know you want those brownies, but *I* want to be thin. So no dice."

Silly, I know, but I came home with nothing but chicken and produce and lowfat cheeses and skim milk, so I consider it a victory.

Yipes. Thought I'd better post before us LAWL girls got lost in the shuffle. I have good news to report. I've been a terribly good girl this weekend and plan to be down at weigh-in tomorrow. I also tried one of the recipes in the cookbook and it was *amazing*. It was the chicken marsala, and it was so good I didn't even feel the need to have a starch with the meal (which is usually what I crave). If anyone doesn't have the cookbook I will post the recipe -- it took less than 20 minutes to make and was soooo good!

I am setting a, what do you call them?, mini-goal for myself. 155 on May 31. At weigh-in. That's about 151 at home.

Have a good week everyone. I know you'll do great!!

Hi Everyone:
Good luck with your mini goal bunny. Thanks for the support also. So how did the weigh in go?
I still make it to the center three times a week but I do not weigh in every time. I made a mini-goal for myself for the last three weeks that I have. I am going to stick to the program and try to cut down, doing take-off etc. I think it gets me off balance then I have a hard time getting back.
What happened to Mary I have not seen her posts lately.
Well I have to go my niece is crying, catch up later

Bunny-
I do not have the newest cookbook...I would love it if you would post that recipe. I have the older LAWL cookbook and it does not have that one in it. I am always up for a new way to prepare chicken!

Diane-
Are you starting stabilization soon or still doing the plan?

I just went back through my journal for April and my weight was up and down the entire month. In the end, I was where I was in the beginning. I really need to try harder. So far this week, no cheats and I am planning on keeping it that way. I have my 10 year high school reunion in July and I would love to lose 10 lbs or so by then. I just need to focus on the task at hand!

I think I am setting a mini goal....there are about 8 weeks until July 4th and I am going to try and lose 10 lbs by then. If I am a good girl I can do that!! I remember when I lost 10 lbs a month!

So here I go...I am going to do this!!!

bunnyblues
05-07-2002, 11:24 AM
That's a great goal Jibbelle. I bet you'll achieve it and more.

I don't have the cookbook on me right now, but it's so easy I bet I can remember it:

Take your portion size of chicken breast, pound it with something like a meat hammer (I didn't have one so I didn't do this, but someone told me you can use a soup can and roll it out). Fry it up in a skillet using Pam until it's cooked, then remove it and keep it warm (I didn't do this, either, but I did think warm thoughts about it).

Put a cup of fresh sliched mushrooms (I used a cup and a half) and 5 chopped green onoins in the pan with 2 tablespoons of water and some lite salt and saute until the mushrooms are tender and the water's almost evaporated. Then pour in a quarter cup of Marsala cooking wine and heat through. (At this stage, I also threw in a pinch of flour to thicken up the mix. But a small, small pinch -- maybe a teaspoon.)

Then, pour the lot over the chicken and voila! I swear, it was so good I didn't even do a starch.

I made chicken salad last night. I threw a breast on the GF (the George Foreman grill), then mixed it with FF mayo, celery, pepper, lite salt and red onions. It was awesome, but very hard to eat that much chicken salad on one measly piece of diet bread.

I think I'm going to do what I did last week and only weigh on Friday. It's such a load off my mind to not have to go but once a week.

Good luck everybody. You rock!!

Hi Marcie:
I have not started stabilization yet, I have been up and down for the month also. I can't say that I have been following the program all that well lately. But I am having a great start to the week. Yesterday I went up into my attic for some summer clothes that I have not worn in a long long time. Some of them were a little tight so I am taking that as some motivation to reach my goal weight. And if I can just stick to it I will reach it.
Good luck with your mini goal

Hey y'all :)

I discovered this site today, and it's lots of fun. www.fitday.com. It lets you keep track of your caloric intake, your daily exercise, and your nutrients... plus you can keep a journal and set goals for yourself. Pretty cool!

I had a tough weekend since it's finals time. I had pizza one night :( So, I was up on my last weigh-in. I've vowed to do better, however, so we'll see what happens on Wednesday.

bunnyblues
05-07-2002, 05:16 PM
That's so funny that you said that. I post my calories on fitday from time to time. When I was on the gold plan, my calories fell around 900-1100 calories a day (too low in my opinion). Now that I'm on red, even though I don't always eat everything on my list everyday, I was noticing just now that my calories fall more in the 1400-1500 zone. I was curious if that was on par with what other people saw when they were on plan.

xYTx
05-07-2002, 07:26 PM
I'm currently on the Gold plan, and for the last two days, I've averaged 800-900 calories a day, too. I know, from the times I counted calories to lose weight, that the lower limit is supposedly around 1200... but I don't feel run-down. We'll see. I guess I'll go by what my body "says" to me.

Good morning all!

I have never used fit day, but maybe I will check it out and see how many calories I am eating on a typical day.

I have been doing really well this week at staying on plan. I did have an extra starch yesterday though, so 3 instead of 2. I had to eat out for 2 meals and it was tough. I will really watch my starch between now and weigh in on Saturday and drink lots of extra water. I am hoping to be down, even if just a little bit.

How is everyone else doing this week?

Bunny-
I am also going to buy some Marsala cooking wine at the grocery store this evening so I can try the chicken marsala this weekend....it sounds great...and I LOVE mushrooms. I bet my boyfriend will even eat it. He will not know it is good for him. :)

I guess I better get some work done, going to be a busy day. Bossman is in meetings all day though! WOOHOO I can get so much more done that way.:dizzy:

Hi everyone. I am new to this board but love the way everybody sounds like friends.:^: . I have been on LAWL for about a week and a half. Last week I lost two pounds. I have a question though. I can't afford to go the center - (way too much money for a working mom with two young children who pays their babysitter most of her paycheck!) - but my girlfriend was on the plan several years ago and she gave it to me to try. (Desperate woman taking desperate measures). My question is this - I weight around 210 - don't know which plan to use - Red, Blue or Purple (those are the only ones she has). Plus, I'm buying the balance bars and the PowerBar Pria bars. Can anyone help me?

:D

Hi Angela!

Help me out guys, but I think I can say the following about those plans

red: for people who work out at least 5 hours a week or who have more than 100 lbs to lose

blue: for people who have crazy work shifts (all nighters and such) or maybe for diabetics

Purple: the plane between red and gold. I'm thinking this would be the closest one for you -- what do you guys think? I'm not sure what your goal or height are, either.

As for the bars -- the ones I eat (chocolate crunch) have 180 calories, 3.5 grams of fat and maybe 7 grams of protein, so something to look for when you're buying bars. or, they have tons of them for sale on Ebay for pretty good prices.

I'm on red because I've started weight training, but I don't do 5 hours a week, so the way I modify my plan is, any day I don't think I can eat it all, I let the starches go first (very hard!) and keep all the veggies and protein.

There's my two cents -- I also post some of the recipes from the cookbook occasionally. Good luck Angela and welcome!

xYTx -- hope you didn't see my food journal yesterday. I went out to eat with my parents last night who I hadn't seen since Christmas. I was *pretty* good but not perfect. And how do you post stuff like "two bites of crab cake" on fitday?

Jibbelle -- your boyfriend will LOVE the chicken marsala. I am thinking of making it for my friend (don't know how to classify him -- we were engaged but I broke it off but I still love him and we talk every day and do something together about 2x a month, but no smooching :) ) -- he's a 6'4" 200 pounder, and I know he'd never be able to tell it was healthy, especially with a little angel hair on the side for him.

Angela-
I started on the red plan at 288 lbs. When I lost 50 they switched me to purple. I am guessing you should be on the purple as well. The gold is for when you get closer to your goal. I think they have me switching to it at like 180 or something. Welcome to our group!!!

Bunny-
I forgot the cooking wine when I was at the store!! I will have to go back Saturday morning. Matt is having fajitas for dinner tonight...I take the grilled chicken, pepper and onion and eat it on my plate with a salad for veggies on the side. It is pretty good. I have used both my starches for the day, so I wont get any spanish rice with mine.

I am home today with my children - and only being on the program for a week and a half, I've already cheated. Last night I had such an urge for an ice cream cone, (unfortunately they're in the freezer for my husband and my daughter), but I fought it off. It's like a drug for goodness sake. So, I had such a hard time shaking the urge today, I had two pieces of regular bread and a cookie, and it's only 11:15 a.m. HELP. I need some suggestions on what do to when I have these urges. Can anyone offer any? (Although what should make me happy was that I got on the
scale this morning and it looked like I had lost another two pounds). That should do it, but it didn't. Also, can anyone suggest a new way to eat vegetables instead of raw or boiling them?:?:

Well, I'm a southerner, so I like to (of course) cook them till they're mushy as "all get out" and then mix them with low fat cheese. I make a mini broccoli or squash casserole by cooking them down in water and adding cheese, sometimes crushed melba toast, and a dollop of fat-free sour cream. I also like salads, and I put about three servings of mushrooms and a serving of green onions in that chicken marsala recipe. I don't do freuits, so I have 6 servings of veggies a day.

But today, I was awful. My parents are still in town, and we had lunch at Panera Bread. I had a veggie sandwich, ate the chips, and also had a shortbread cookie! :o But now they're gone, and I guess one and a half off program meals in a week is better than 21!

BTW Jibbelle -- the fajita chicken dish sounds yummy! I've got some mexican peppers in the fridge; think I'll have to put them to good use!

I forgot -- Angela, if you have a craving for ice cream, keep some fat free sugar free ice cream on hand. I think you can have one treat a week. You can also get it at TCBY or Baskin Robbins. If you're tempted to go off program, you can come on here and talk to us. The LA bars are good for that, too -- they're so sweet you orget your'e not being treated.

And, I just wanted to take a sec and thank everyone for their support. Y'all are awesome!

Angela-
I wish I could offer a suggestion for those urges but I cant. I have the same problem. I agree with Bunny about the fat free sugar free ice cream and yogurt. I have tried several that are really yummy. I dont usually eat a whole serving, but sometimes I just open it up and get about a tablespoon of it. Eat it really slow....and it satisfies the craving! Other than that I use my bars as treats. I know it isnt on plan, but I have bought sugar free hard candies....butterscotch, root beer barrels, fruit disks. They dont have many calories and they last a while. Sometimes they help when I want something sweet.

I just finished mowing the yard...tough work! WHEW! Much better now than in the middle of July though!!!

I am going to weigh in tomorrow AM so I will post then.

Have a happy mothers day weekend all you mommies!

Ok ladies...I am down 0.4 lbs for the week. I will take it!! It is raining today, so no yard work. I guess I am going to get started cleaning the house! Mom will be here Sunday. :)

Everyone must be busy...the boards have been quiet for a couple days.

Is everyone having an 'on plan' week??

I'm pretty much "on plan" this week. I managed to have a good weigh-in last time, but I'm dreading next time. It's getting to be "that time of month," and I always gain weight from water retention around this time. It's very discouraging to weigh in on those days. Anyone else notice this?

I have the same problem. But the good thing is...the week after...I usually have a big loss! 2 weeks worth I guess :)

I always weigh up at that T.O.M., but the worst is that I usually continue to weigh more for about 5 days afterwards. But good news! I think I may have started up the ole engine (ha ha). I've weighed 155 at home for the past two days -- my scale weighs me about 2 lbs less than the center, so I hope for a big fat (low-fat?) loss this week.

I've planned a trip to Jacksonville for July 4th, am thinking of buying incentive bikini to keep me on for 2 lbs. per week.

This week, I have the world's largest presentation for Thursday, and I've had a week and a half already to prepare. what have I gotten done? *Nothing.* Woohoo. Boards, strategies, handouts, books, here I come! (Or maybe tomorrow)

How is everyone else doing. By the way, at xYTx's encouragement (Thank you xYTx!) I put my fit day journal online. If you ever want to see it:

It will probably make you feel much better about how you're doing. :dizzy:

I'll follow suit:

Bunny- I almost bought a bikini yesterday, too. I haven't tried on (or owned!) a swimsuit in YEARS. It felt weird to try it on, but satisfying. I keep thinking it'll give me something to work toward. I can't wait until I get to hit the beach and be satisfied with what I'm seeing!

It's the end of the semester here, so my online time is kinda spotty. School's out, grades are in so I know I'm graduating, and it's time to move out. I've been entertaining my brother, who's down for a visit, so it's tough to find stuff that fits with my plan AND satisfies a 19-year-old guy. He eats EVERYTHING :) My workouts have suffered, but I figure between the moving boxes up and down flights of stairs, dancing with my brother (he's into this dance video game at the arcade that's like a mini-aerobic workout), and walking all over town, I've got it at least somewhat covered.

That's what I like about LA so much. All of my other diets made me feel really guilty if I skipped a workout. It's nice knowing that if I follow the plan, I'll lose weight regardless of my activity. Such a relief!!

Hello Everyone!

I'm new to this site, and I just wanted to introduce myself. I just started with the LA Weight Loss program (one week), and I'm pleased so far. I do have one general question, though.

I set my goal for 145 pounds, and paid the appropriate fees, but what if I get to 145 and want to lose more? Will they allow me to make that decision later and just charge the difference, or how does that work?

Thanks for your answers. This site is wonderful and full of support!

Hi! I was on LA Weightloss about 2 years ago and I actually started the LA Weightloss thread on this site at that time (my log in name then was StephM).

I have to say my overall experience with them was good. I did manage to go from 235 to 148 with their program. I recently gained back 35 pounds and while I am not going to re-join their program at a Center, I am going to follow it on my own to lose the weight I regained.

So, I just wanted to say Hi to everyone and introduce myself. Hope you are having a great day!

Hi Missy and Joy! It's so nice to see you!

Joy, when I joined I paid for a year, not by the pound. I would imagine that you can reassess your goal at any time you want. It's your body, after all. :)

Again, good to see you, and feel free to share tips/recipes/progress. I can use all the help I can get!

Hello Joy and MissyMoo! Welcome or welcome back to our group.

I was at work for 16 hours yesterday! I just got up and am still exhausted. I am not going in today until about noon. Needless to say, I didnt do a very good job of staying on plan. I didnt pack enough food since I never imagined I would be there so long.

You two and your bikini talks! I am just hoping to look decent in a one piece some day!!! Or maybe one of those tankinis. They are cute. :)

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Jibelle!

Actually, I look better in a bikini because I look less squatty -- and I look like an absolute sausage in a tankini -- stuff oozing out everywhere... :dizzy:

I have a new treat -- I don't know if you guys have tried the new Wendy's salads, but I love the mandarin one. I just use 1/3 of the salad dressing, 1/2 the almonds and 1/2 the crispy noodles, and that takes it from 630 calories to less than 350 but keeps it tasting mmmmmmmmmmmm.

Havin' a bad week, ladies. It must be stress!!:dizzy: Tuesday night I ate everything in sight and last night I had two pieces of regular pizza. I felt horrible after I ate it, too, not guilty horrible, but physically horrible. Hoping to do better in the next week and maybe lose another pound. Still down 2 lbs. Not a bad start, but I've only been on the **** Diet for two weeks and have already cheated. I'm so weak!!

Boy - a bikini or a tankini would be great, but I'm like Jibelle, I just want to look good in a one piece someday so I won't have to keep wearin' a t-shirt to go swimmin' so no one sees my body!!
