Talking When the scale is sad, GO TO THE TAPE!

I am so excited!

Today is weigh-in day and, as I posted at my blog, I didn't have a great weigh-in (just up from last week, which was the same as the week before), but I have been doing my Wii Fit EVERY day (just started 16 days ago) and my clothes are DEFINITELY fitting differently.

I had to buy new jeans in a smaller size and now THEY are loose!

So, I decided to GO TO THE TAPE (the measuring tape, that is) and here are my results since having started BistroMD just over five months ago (and having just started daily Wii Fit 16 days ago). This has been a slow-going journey and I've only lost 20 pounds in 24 weeks so far, BUT clearly, I am SHRINKING!

Do you SEE that? I'm SHRINKING!! Yay!

Just had to come share a victory of the non-scale variety, since I'm doing my usual premenstrual "stall" (so, hopefully, next week I'll be right back on track with the scale too). But even if the scale is not proof of all the good work I've done lately, that measuring tape sure is!

                        I'll take it!

Thanks, everyone, for the support and encouragement. This is FUN!

Way to go! I was ASTOUNDED when I re-measured myself and found 3 inches gone from the last time. My weight hasn't changed nearly as rapidly. The tape is definitely the way to go!

Hey, I'll take whatEVER is making me feel like I'm accomplishing something. Scale, tape, compliments, clothing fit, reflection, ALL of the above!!

Thank you for the kudos. I'm really pleased about my shrinking waist!! As you can see from one of my tickers, that's been one of my goal areas from the beginning.

I am impressed with your measurements (myself, I measure only bust/waist/hips). Congrats on your achievements!

Thank you, Tomato. I'm very pleased with my loss, believe me!! I just sometimes lose perspective when I see others losing a pound (or more) per week, every week.

(I know, I know... never compare self to others. Yeah, yeah, yeah.)

Also, I've lost weight faster in the past (uh-huh... right, Grace, and you're right back here trying to LOSE again. What does that tell ya?) so it's challenging sometimes to stay PLEASED with my slow progress.

But believe me, I am PLEASED!!!

Yeah, I measure all sorts of areas, because I noticed I was moving/changing sometimes in places I hadn't been measuring, and when I needed a "win," sometimes a smaller knee was just the ticket. So, it's a habit I got into. Hee!

                        Thank you for your support.

                        Isn't it fun????

I feel like a shrinking woman... and sometimes the numbers on the scale just feel like numbers.

I can SEE the tape measure and know how "much" I am. I'm FIVE INCHES LESS in my waist! I can SEE that. It's a great feeling.

Congrats to all, on all progress! And again, thank you for the support!

I'll take ANY indicator that things are going in the right direction.

                        Good luck to you!
