I've heard/read so many people saying you can do WW and breastfeed... that they allow 5 or 10 extra points... but when I tried to register for WW Online, it says you can't if you are breastfeeding!

Maybe WW just doesn't want to be help accountable, since they wouldn't see a WW Online member... If that's the case... maybe I can still do online, and just add in my extra 10 pts??? Ugh... was so excited to get going!! :(

Hi there. I work for WW as a leader. You most certainly can join WW if you are nursing. I don't know about online, but in the traditional meeting room, yes, most certainly, and the book (Getting Started) has a page with the points range for nursing moms.

Good luck -- and congratulations! May you learn some wonderful skills and eating habits that you pass along to your new baby, who will doubtless grow into a normal weight adult without EATING issues! :-)

I did WW while nursing and had to add 10 extra points to my range. I signed up for e-tools and it did ask if I was nursing when I was filling out my registration (I'm not anymore). I just assumed that was so it could figure your point range. Did you actually sign up for WW on-line or just read somewhere that you can't if you are nursing. I know for sure you can't while PG!

Patricia,

I would recommend you check with WW on this. I'd be very surprised if you couldn't do the at home program. Wouldn't that be discrimination?

I'm a nursing mom and joined WW 6 weeks ago (I'm going to meetings), and I'm thrilled to report I've lost 15 pounds.

I haven't found it too challenging (so far), and my loss is nice and slow so as not to affect my milk production.

Good luck & let us know what you find out!

Jo
