Happy Saturday!

I'm off to have breakfast with my mother, it's her birthday today! I'll be back later.

Happy birthday, Linda's mom!

Three days on plan for me!!! Yea! That's one tenth of the month!

Off to watch a bit of TV and then hit the sack. Have a great Saturday, gals!

What a nice way to start the day, Cottage. It looks like another cold and gorgeous day around here. I hope to get outside for a few hours later.

Yesterday I packed away the Halloween decorations and finally managed to plant some apple mint that a friend gave me a month ago! There is so much work to be done out there and the leaves are finally down. Now to find someone to rake them for me. I need to make squares for coffee hour after Church tomorrow. I'd post the recipe but it's food porn.

Hershey and I are about to share an apple and then have official breakfast - oatmeal, wheat germ and almonds.

What's going on with you this weekend of the TIME CHANGE!

morning chicks... a real quickie for me, need to get dd to work then home for a minute to do a quick freshen up of the house. Then off to town for dog food, meatballs and stuff for pina colda's ( sorry food porn ) then it is home for a bit, then off to the hall to decorate. Then home for a shower and a quick meal and then change for the party. Plus I have my girlfriends coming down from the next town. Whoot Whoot. But to top it all off we are going to have a huge wind and rain storm, the end of Noel. Well not to worry about that. Love ya chicks have a great day and I will post some pics of the party tomorrow. Have a great one.

Morning chicks!

Cottage Enjoy breakfast with your mom! Are you going to Cracker Barrel?

LC Sounds like a busy, but very fun day. Enjoy!

Ruth Lucky me- I never got around to putting up Halloween decor, so that is one less thing for me to clean up or put away. Laundry on the other hand.....

Me- I don't have one thing planned for today, which is heaven on earth in comparison to the last few weeks of rushing around like a chicken with my head cut off! DH rolled over this morning and surprised me with having the whole weekend off!

Eating has just been embarrasingly bad, although I still lost a pound in October. I need to quit saying that I am going to get back on plan and just make a freaking plan to DO IT!!

I miss you girlies and am really going to make an effort to get in here and post daily as it makes a big difference for me!!

:thanks2: Happy November! Abigail turns 6 this month- hard to beleive!!

11-03-2007, 10:41 AM
Morning chicks! And goodnight Kara!

I have found one more reason to love love love the beach. DH and DSS both are coming down with a cold. Me, never felt better even with TOM here. I think eating well and regularly taking my vitamins and supplements has helped my immunity. Before if anyone sneezed within a mile of me, I got sick. Even TOM has been a breeze, and for me that enough incentive to stay on plan even when I don't lose the weight as fast as I'd like to.

Shoot - Kiddo is up and I've got to feed him, be back later.

11-03-2007, 12:12 PM
Hey Kiko! Nice to "see" you around! My Connor just turned six on Monday, so he and Abigail must be very close. He's in a very difficult stage, motivation-wise. Doesn't seem to want to do anything lately. It's a real struggle for his Type A mom! Have a fun family weekend!

Welcome to the weekend, Dixie! Glad you're feeling so well!!!

I'm off to bed. I still find the time difference odd!

11-03-2007, 12:23 PM
Real quick fly-by girls! Just wanted to pop in and say hi! Super busy this morning, like crazy, and once my help gets in at noon, then I have 3 orientations to take care of. :faint: Hope you girls have a great day!

Hi chicks,
Today is my usual weigh-in day, but I decided to skip it this week since I have been obsessing too much about the numbers lately. It's killing me though, I'm dying to look. Went to DB and SIL's for dinner last night and got to play with my great-niece for a while. She's almost 6 mos old and i haven't seen her for a couple of months. Fun age! I got up early this morning and did the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis with DD. It's chilly, but a beautiful day for a walk. I'm thinking that next year I might be able to manage the 1 mile fun run. We hit the farmer's market, and did the grocery shopping. Then I took the kids to the bank to open bank accounts, and I decided I deserved to play on the computer for a while. I think it's going to cost me $$ though because I've been checking out the HSN sale and I see a dress I might like for the office Christmas Party. I'm going to make a big pot of vegetable beef soup and then take the kids to see the Bee movie later.

Everyone sounds busy with fun stuff this weekend. Well, except you missmess, I think I'll croak if I hear High School Musical 1 OR 2 ever again.

11-03-2007, 05:48 PM
Hee, hee Schmoodle- my kids and I just actually discovered High School Musical a few months ago. That has become our Friday night ritual, we curl up in bed with popcorn and sing our hearts out. We rarely watch the whole thing through, so I am not too sick of it yet. :)

I am such a dork- I didn't realize until this morning that we turn our clocks back tonight. I haven't had the TV or radio turned on in days.

11-03-2007, 08:39 PM
Hey, Kiko, we did go to Cracker Barrel, that's where she wanted to go. :) I had my old standby, oatmeal with pecans & bananas, drizzled with SF maple syrup. I'd have loved to have the pancakes, but I've been doing so well for a change, I don't want to ruin all my good work. ;) It's great to hear from you again! When is Abigail's birthday? November is a big birthday month in our family. Mom's today, Sis-in-law tomorrow, mine on the 7th, and my brother's on the 30th. It sure keeps us busy!

Jake and I spent the afternoon making a dedicated playroom in the basement for the grandkids. I don't know why we didn't do this ages ago, it's so nice to have all their toys and things in one area! Jake even built in some bookcases for their books and toys. Now, if the kids will just use it, rather than wanting to hang out with the grown-ups! ;)

Well, chicks, I got paid back for my snide remark about High School Musical. One of DD's friends had tickets to go with her family but has to play in a soccer tournament tomorrow, so has generously offered us her tickets. DD is delighted, of course. I don't have anything else planned, so off we go. I'll just take earplugs!

Head lice are rampaging through DD and DS's school. I heard today that at least three of her friends and a bunch from her Girl Scout troop have it. We had it 2 years ago and it took all summer to finally get rid of it. I used that chemical stuff they sell at the drugstore on her and DS 3 times, shampooing carpets and furniture, washing bedding, cleaning the house constantly, it was exhausting. What finally got rid of it was coal tar shampoo by Neutrogena (T-Gel), if anyone ever needs that information. That shampoo and combing through every day with the comb. I found that after trying olive oil, mayonnaise, all kinds of stuff. God, I hope we don't get it, I don't ever want to go through that again! Total nightmare! Just makes my skin crawl!

By the way, the Bee movie is cute. Got to run over and pick up the show tickets now. Have a good night chicks.

11-03-2007, 10:10 PM
Cottage Abigail's birthday isn't until the 28th, but she is so excited already!!

Schmoodle That is too funny- at least you will know all the songs. :)

I did well with eating today- it feels good. :)

11-03-2007, 10:18 PM
Oooh, Kiko, I love your Thanksgiving ticker! I'm going to go change mine!!!

11-04-2007, 07:14 AM
Good morning. It seems like it should be lighter outside with it being an hour later. I'm not going to like it getting dark earlier at night, that means I'll be coming home in the dark every night. :(

I don't know what's on the agenda for today, I'm sure the kids will show up for supper, it seems to be a habit. I think I'll get a pork tenderloin out of the freezer. I want to experiment with making a SBD friendly pumpkin cheesecake, too, by adding pumpkin and spices to SF FF cheesecake flavored pudding mix. It seems like it will work, what do you think?

11-04-2007, 07:34 AM
Looks like a great morning coming up here - sort of gray at the moment but I'm hoping for a day when I can get a bit more done outdoors. A visit to Harry after Church will fill up my morning though.

What's a'happenin' at your place?

11-04-2007, 08:03 AM
Ooooh, Linda, that sounds lovely! I adore pumpkin cheesecake and may just give that a try!!!

Have a good visit, Ruth!

I was a good girl again today! Four days down, the rest of my life to go... (I was going to write twenty-six days to go, but then I figured that's just inviting a bad eating spree on the first of December so I changed my mind.) We had church this morning and Tom and I did the Children's Church today, and then we hit the BX and commissary to get our shopping done for the week. It'll be a busy one as Tom will be working hard and the kids and I always have *something* going on. Tom is asking my advice of what kind of chocolate he should have in his ice cream and I'm about to go kick him in the head.

Have a great Sunday all!

11-04-2007, 08:13 AM
Good morning! I'm trying to psych myself up for another round of brushpile bootcamp. I have DSS all to myself today, so I think I'll put him to work in the yard and then reward him with a trip to the bookstore or art festival later today. He seems to be over his sniffles, and I owe him a reward for making the honor roll anyway. Better than rewarding him with food, right?

Ruth - Have a good visit with Harry!

Kara - Tell him he should have sugar free chocolate with sugar free ice cream. :p

Cottage - That cheesecake sounds good, I may have to make another run to the grocery store now.

11-04-2007, 08:32 AM
Has anybody made SF apple crisp or crumble? I've got a bunch of apples to use up and I may try it tonight. Apple things are DH's favorite desserts. I guess I'll just replace butter with SB and sugar with Splenda, then oatmeal and nuts.

I'm going to try to get carpets shampooed before we go to the High School Musical thing, so I'll check in later chicks. Have a good one.

11-04-2007, 09:21 AM
Hi everyone,
Happy Sunday,
Seems like everyone is busy, as usual. The weekends are the only time I seem to a get a break nowadays. As some of you know I am from Hawai'i and there is no daylight savings time in Hawai'i, so, the change totally threw me for a loop and I got up an extra hour early today.
Schmoodle- I've made an apple crisp before and just did the same thing that you are going to do. The only problem I had was that Splenda has a tendency to rise and it ends up a flakey mess. Just be sure to combine it well.
Cottage That cheesecake idea sounds great let us know how it turned out.
Ruth Have a nice visit.
Kara and Dixie- Have a great day.
Good Luck staying OP today

Thank God for the time change! :tired:

Got dragged (haha dragged) to a drag show last night with my girlfriends. I haven't been to one of those in years. Was quite fun and interesting, but I didn't want to stay out super late. Bar closed at 1:00, threw us out at 1:15, and I left my car at Angie's and Jeanette and Erica wanted to get breakfast, so we went to Steak n Shake (that's healthy,) and I didn't get home until almost 3:00 (which thankfully became 2:00 with the time change.) At least it was a fun girls night out. Don't get those very often.

Washing the smoke stench (PEWWWWW) out of my jeans that I wore last night so I can wear them today without stinking to high heaven. All 3 of my girls smoke, and smoke heavily when they drink. I don't even have the urge to smoke when I drink anymore unless I drink A LOT.

Bears have a bye today, but Chiefs play at noon, so I'm going to head out to Show Me's for football in awhile. Need to find a red shirt to wear.

OH, by the way... we have a DVD with music videos/movie previews/etc on it that we have to play over and over every month. The 3 things that my brain cannot tune out from the October one are:

A) "It's Rainin' Men,"
B) The "Surf's Up" preview where they throw the chicken in the pot and go "NUMNUMNUMNUMNUM! Oohhhhhh YUMNUMNUMNUMNUM!!!!" (That's what my dog-niece sounds like chewing on my arm,) and
C) A stupid song from High School Musical 2. I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!! Is it November 6th yet????? I WANT A NEW DVD!!!! I will take "It's Rainin' Men" OVER and OVER all day, every day, for the rest of my LIFE if I don't have to listen to High School Musical songs again!!!

That's all I have to say about that. Have a good one ladies!!!!

PS Hallelujah it's rainin' men..... sigh. I did it to myself.

11-04-2007, 12:58 PM
 Lisa! I always enjoy reading your posts! I'm glad you had a well-deserved girls nite out, don't feel guilty in the least!

Schmoodle, I love-love-love apple crisp, and make it at least once a week! I use Smart Balance, splenda, and a mixture of oatmeal and ww flour, or sometimes ground up Fiber One. It always turns out lip-smacking good. :)

 Ruth, Kara, Dixie and Browneyes!

Would you believe I'm sitting here listening to a new Christmas CD already? I just picked it up at Walmart this morning and it's by someone I've never heard of before, Michael E. Smith. It was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London with a 65-piece orchestra and four choirs, and it's just beautiful. I'm in a holiday mood today, I have a turkey and a pumpkin pie in the oven, and we're having all the traditional fixings with it. Dustin just called to see what was on the menu today, and he's thrilled. They're going to bring the baby over for us to babysit for a while so they can have some special time with Amber. I'm looking forward to getting Tyler all to myself for a few hours! :D

11-04-2007, 07:35 PM
Hmmm, weezle, let's see, could it be "Fabulous"? Or "You are the Music in Me"? Or another of the toe-tapping delights I'll be humming and hating for the whole week.

:santa: Merry christmas cottage!

I tried my crisp with Agave Nectar instead of Splenda, and didn't have oatmeal, so I'm using Fiber One. DH just caught a whiff and came in here to ask me what I was cooking. He is excited, hope it turns out well!

:brr: This is me tonight. It is cold here, so we finally turned on the heat. Now I'm warm but I can feel my skin drying out.

Oh, and by the way chicks, I promise not to whine about slow weight loss any more. After looking at the October weight loss list, I realized it is pretty silly to complain about losing 6 lbs.

11-04-2007, 09:35 PM
Schmoodle, how did the apple crisp turn out?

I never did make that pumpkin cheesecake today. That box of pudding mix that I thought was cheesecake turned out to be white chocolate, and I didn't feel like running to the store. So I had a little cheat with a small piece of pumpkin pie for dessert. I did well with the turkey dinner, though. I bypassed the potatoes, stuffing, gravy, peas and biscuits, and filled my plate with steamed cauliflower and turkey. So I feel I did okay.
We thoroughly enjoyed babysitting for Tyler this afternoon. He's such a happy little guy! It's fun watching him discover his world.
Well, The Amazing Race just came on, and I can't miss it. See you all tomorrow!
