About the time I started this thread, We got a phone call that they have just sent my MIL to the ER. We were at the rehab/nursing home this morning to see her.She was having a hard time breathing.

I'll post later.Off to the hospital.......

03-18-2007, 08:26 AM
Oh no, Sherry! Prayers being sent her way from Fl.

03-18-2007, 02:38 PM
Prayers sent for MIL, Sher. Keep us updated.

03-18-2007, 04:16 PM
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY ALLISON! I HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT DAY! Did you drink some green beer to celebrate???

03-18-2007, 04:20 PM
Sherry~I hope your MIL is okay, we're sending our prayers.

My birthday was fun. Well, except for having to drive to San Diego for a meeting. We went for our annual March Madness birthday party and I did have a beer, but not a green one! I also had 2 margaritas, but they were small and pretty weak. Overall, it was, or still is, a good birthday weekend.

03-18-2007, 04:36 PM
:bday2you: Happy Birthday to you ALLISON!!!!!!! I hope you're day was special! It sounds like it was!! :woo:

My MIL is doing some better. Her oxygen level has came up some.I have only seen Wayne cry three times in our 20 year marriage. Once when we got married, once when Chris left for the Navy. And yesterday was the 3rd time. His Mom didn't know who we were. She was talking about things that wasn't going on.It's not medication either. The doctor said she was showing signs of demincha (sp). (I need to look this up). I feel so sorry for his Dad.Bless his heart. He's so sick himself and he's thinking of her. It's all so sad.

Got to finish getting ready. We're staying with her at the hopital from 3-7. The family is doing shifts now so it won't wear everyone out.

Tomorrow I have to be at the doctor at 8:00. She wants to do another urine sample. The last 2 shows blood & bacteria.I've been on 3 different antibotics for 5 weeks. Good way to start my week off for Spring Break!!!!

03-19-2007, 12:50 AM
Sher, so sorry to hear they think MIL has dementia. I really feel it is so much worse on the family to go through then the person with the illness. It is so sad, they will have bad days then they can turn around and have a few good days to the point one starts thinking they are ok again. Her poor husband, to be ill with cancer and to go through all of this too. Prayers and hugs sent...
I hope you find out something at the docs!

Allison, nice to hear you had a happy birthday! No such thing as a "big" margarita! LOL! We had a place open up here that served margaritas on make a long story short, Gayle decided to OVER indulge one night! They go down way easier on the rocks then frozen!

03-19-2007, 06:56 AM
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, ALLISON!!!:bday2you: :gift: :balloons: :woo: :hb:

03-19-2007, 06:57 AM
Sherry-I am so sorry to hear about MIL having dementia. My friend's mom has it and as Gayle says, there are good days and bad days. My prayers to you and Wayne.

03-19-2007, 11:02 AM
I'm still here...just not very good company right now. Sadie, my 11 year old sheltie, passed away over the weekend after a brief illness. She was my constant companion, so I'm trying to get use to the idea of her being gone.

Sherry ~ I'm glad to hear that your MIL is improving a little. Hopefully the dementia will clear once she is back in her regular routine. I will be keeping you all in my prayers.

Allison ~ Happy birthday!

Gayle ~ Are you happy to be free of the liquor store? What are you doing with all of your spare time? ;)

A big hello to everyone else! I hope to catch up with everyone soon.

03-19-2007, 11:08 AM
Suzy~so very, very sorry to hear about your dog. It is so hard to lose our loved ones whether they be of the people kind or the four-legged kind. Take care.

03-19-2007, 01:43 PM
Happy Monday All!!!:carrot:

It's one of your resident newbies checking in! :)

I'm really sorry for everyone going through the tough times!!! When my fish, Beldar died I cried for months-and he was just a little Betta! I wasn't able to get another pet until last summer (graduated up to a hamster). So Suzy-my thoughts are with ya!!!

Also, Sherry-I can relate to your situation also. My gramps had Alzheimer's before passing and it was sooooo hard! At first as the little things were forgotten and the questions were repeated over and over again it was almost charming because he slipped back to a happier time in his mind and didn't remember current things...but then as it progressed, why-no match for the struggle. Lean on me when you need to!!!

Cheryl-Thanks for inviting me over this way-wonderful ladies on this thread!!!

Allison-Happy Happy Birthday 2U, 2U, 2U- OLE'!!! :balloons: Sorry that I'm playing catch up, but do you mind if I ask which birthday it was?

Talk to you all later!!! Melinda

03-20-2007, 06:00 AM
Suzy-I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. Prayers to you.

03-20-2007, 07:56 AM
Suzy, so sorry to hear about Sadie. You and Tim are in my prayers. How is it going?

Welcome to all the newbies!

Allison, Happy belated birthday! Sorry I missed it!

Sherry, sorry to hear about your in-laws. I do have an amazing story, my neighbor was getting more and more forgetful. She is 87. Amazing woman. She didn't know me and I sort of stopped visiting her, (I know that was bad of me!) She has an aid living with her 24 hours a day. One day she calls me! Just like old times! There are some new meds out there and it is amazing what they do! I was told the meds usually work for two to three years, but it is like the person has no problems! Something to check into!

So what is everyone else up to? I know I am missing everyone here! Things have been hectic as usual. I am on Spring break this week, so Rob and I took a two day trip and got away. We went to the Yankee Candle factory in Mass. Very pretty and fun place. It is such a fun store! Had a great time and now we are home, he is back to work and I am going to Spring Clean some today!

03-20-2007, 10:34 AM
Debbi, please come this direction and spring clean for me has been forever since my house was all clean in one shot! I use to schedule time to take one full day and clean...not so now. The candle factory sounds interesting and fun!

Suzy, I am so, so very sorry to hear about Sadie. Shelties are such wonderful and loyal companions. It is so hard losing a pet, they become a member of the family so quickly. Prayers sent sweetie in that you find peace knowing Sadie is at rest now and not suffering.
I do not miss the store at all! Just the customers. My last day, the assistant manager on, couldn't even tell me goodbye or good luck. Reaffirmed part of the reason why I was quitting, they are so self centered.

Sher, how is MIL? Can she remember way in her past but her short term memory is lost? Is it possible once she is out of the hospital, that your FIL could stay with her too, in the assisted living facility?

Melinda, welcome!!! You sound like you truly fall in love with your pets. They are very fortunate to get you as an owner.

To all the other Floozies, have a GREAT OP DAY! I did really good until last night. We had things come up and we had a rush meal of leftovers and misc. instead a planned meal.

03-20-2007, 11:14 AM
I'm sorry to hear that things are not going well for some of you. You are in my thoughts.

Things are ok with me, nothing too exciting and really it has not been a good start to the week but I figure it can only get better from here! I am desperately trying to stay on track but since it is that TOM the cravings are out of control. I definitely had a few more calories than I needed last night. Oops. Well today is a new day and I feel satisfied right now so that's a good sign. Yesterday the hunger was unbearable!

I wish everyone a great day!

03-20-2007, 11:27 AM
Good Mornin'

Suzy....I'm so sorry to hear about Sadie.Losing a pet is like losing a family member. I hope each day the pain gets easier for you. Are you thinking about getting another pet? I know it won't take the place of Sadie but may help with your sadness. BIG HUGS!!

Lynne....I love Yankee candles! So does my hubby! He loves candles more then me! Were they cheaper there? What a neat 2 day getaway! Thanks for the info about meds.I'll mention it to the doctor. That's so cool about your neighbor! BTW:I'm on Spring break too!!

Melinda...Thanks for the post about your GF. It is so sad and it's nice to know we have people we can talk to that knows what we're going through. Thanks!

My FIL will never leave his house or stop driving. We have tried several times to take away the keys. He's so stubborn! He's 81,has cancer of the lungs, wheezes all the time and can bearly walk. He's going to kill himself or someone else. But you can't tell him anything. He is a faithful member of his church for 45 years and used to never say a bad word but now he's getting where he says little curse words a lot! I guess when you're 81 you're entitled to! Do you still enjoy your new job like you thought you would? Do miss the store a little? How's Allison?

Shelley...Thanks for the prayers. You're a sweetie. How's school going this year? I'm still split between the two schools. Next year they will add 2 more to me! The attendance have really gotten bad in Metro.

Where is DEE????????????????????? Did she decide not to come back???? I sure miss her!!!

I've got to get ready to go to the hospital but wanted to give an update on MIL:

She has pneumonia now.The dcotor said that she went down hill fast. Her eyes roll back into the back of her head a lot. She's not talking much now.The doctor said she wouldn't live past a few months. Bless her heart. She's so sweet. But like Wayne said....Let the good Lord take her now and be in peace then to suffer like this.
I guess I was lucky person.I have the best In-laws in the world. I love them both so much.

Keep prayers coming.....Love to all...

03-20-2007, 12:06 PM
Sorry to hear such sad news Sher... all you guys can have is hope and with that, miracles can happen. I agree with Wayne, if it is time for her to go, then let her go now instead of suffering. Did the doctor refer the family to Hospice? It is a wonderful organization and can help so much with care and questions the family may have. They concentrate on the family as a unit, not just the patient. If you want more info I can send it to you. The family doesn't even need to be referred by a physician, the only requirement is that she has been diagnosed with a life expency of 6 months or less. They also offer bereavment support which may be comforting for Wayne.
Is FIL on oxygen? Sounds like he is a go-getter!
Also, if I could please have your email, I found an article you may be interested in.
I am not missing the store at all and YES! I do like my new position in life. 3/4 of my clients have dementia, it is challenging, but also very rewarding.

03-21-2007, 03:54 PM
hey everyone ! Im back sorry I was sick and then my grandfather died and I have been in chicago , but i ok everythings alright. I know I gained weight in chicago, I mean the food isnt exactly terrible , if youve ever been to chicago you know what I mean. gotta do something. xoxox

03-21-2007, 05:00 PM
Amy--so glad you're back!! I know what you mean about the food in Chicago! Man I wish I had a slice of pizza! Or a hot dog... Or a fresh gyro.... ummmmmm....... I think I'll shut up now! :o How's your mom?

Debbi--how's spring break? Gettin a lot of work done? I'm on "break" too this week, but since I only have class on Tuesday night it's not that much different! I have actually been PLEASURE reading, though! Makes me feel almost guilty!

Gayle, how are the new shoes doing?

Shelley--how've you been doing? I notice you've been replying to everyone else, but been kind of silent about yourself...... Would a stylish secretary wear Danskos if they had a nice, expensive, ugly matching purse? See, you didn't think anyone noticed that, didja?

Suzy, so sorry to hear about Sadie. I really feel for you. I know you'll miss her, because those animals are family--I don't care what anyone says, my cat is my CHILD!!!!!

Melinda, I'm so glad you found your way to our group! ;) I consider all of these great ladies my friends, and I'm sure that you'll love them as much as I do! Even if some of them (gayle) are little  sometimes!!!!

Bikini dreader--remind me of your name, please? I'm glad you're here, too!

Sherry, my dear, sweet co-mod! I hate it that your MIL is so sick. How is Wayne handling this? Does he have any sibs that are able to help out?

Dee, darlin', I sure am READY for our PRINCESS to come back. Things just aren't the same around here without you.

Also, has anyone heard from JANICE lately? She seems pretty scarce around these parts...... Janice? Come out, come out, wherever you are!!!!

03-21-2007, 05:09 PM
Hey amiga, Guess who is back? It's me Dee, your long lost Amiga.
I made it back early monday morning. I am trying to get into the grove of things here. My internet was just got reconnected yesterday afternoon.
I sure have a lot of catching up to do with you girls. I did manage to read this thread.

Sherry I am glad to see you are here with us. You must have remembered about when I was coming home. Thanks for not forgetting about me.Sorry to hear about your dear MIL.

Gayle so you quit the liquior store. Are you working full time hair dressing or do you have another job?

Lynne I am glad that you were able to have a little get away. It sure is nice to get a break from the hum-drum of home life.

Suzy I understand how sad you must be feeling. When I lost my little Suzy ten years ago I was heart broken. I still feel sad and miss her, you love those little creates with all your heart and they love you back unconditionally.

Debbi spring cleanning is exactly what I am going to do until I can get outdoors and enjoy nice weather. It is going to be awhile before I see green grass again. Cleanning will help pass the time.

Shelley how is it going? I didn't read to much about you on this thread so I will have to go back and see what I can dig up on you.

Vouge sorry to hear about your Grandpa. Don't worry about the weight gain we will help you get back on track.

Allison Happy Belated birthday. I am happy to hear that you had a good day. Don't you hate getting older though?

Melinda welcome to our lovely group. I am looking forward to getting to know you.

03-21-2007, 05:12 PM
Hey Cheryl we must have been posting at the same time.....I was wondering where you were at. I don't think that I noticed a post from you on this thread. Enjoy your spring break, read those books for fun. You need a break.

03-22-2007, 09:44 AM
Suzy - I can feel your sorrow. We got our pets all at the same time when we moved to our own house. Over the years they have been passing away from old age. Both my dogs are 14. Sheba is not well, she can't see much and panics now when she can't find me. I have to give her tranquilizers (sp) when I leave the house. My dogs are my babies ( since Amanda doesn't have any grandchildren for me) I take each day as a gift at this point.
I hope Sadie didn't suffer at the end. My prayers go out to you.
Sherry - Hope your MIL is better, Debbi is right the meds that they have now are amazing. They can't reverse what has already happened but they seem to stop it from progressing for quite a while.
Gayle - Having fun with the "golden Oldies" or should I say silver oldies.
I adore old folks. I work in an old age home, they have so much wisdom to share if you just take the time to listen.
I have been spring cleaning for the past two weeks. Where does all that stuff come from. And what about that dust and cobwebs?
Hello to everyone else.
Vouge - where are you??

03-22-2007, 09:44 AM
Shelley - I did change my email address, I forgot to change it here. I did now!

03-22-2007, 12:29 PM
Good morning everyone!!! Just popping in to say hi and stay in touch. Have a great day!

03-22-2007, 03:34 PM
Hi Everyone!!!

Just popping in for a quick hi! I have sooo much to say but it's been a crazy day. Good news (sort of): got my labs back this afternoon-TSH still too high and dr. has upped my meds to double the dose! This is good news because I've been waiting for some energy to get into the gym and start kicking this weight to the curb!

Anyway, this thread is just fab-expect me to ask a lot of questions to get caught up w/things! :)

Have a wonderful day all!!!!! Oh, and thanks for the welcome from everyone! Cheryl-mostly thanks to you and you know why! ;)

03-23-2007, 07:01 AM
Sorry I haven't posted much. I have just been in a funk, what with Mike still not working and I had a problem with my boss. We have sort of made up, but I still feel uncomfortable at work, even after being there for 9 years. I'm not sure what is going to happen. She told me yesterday that she doesn't want to lose me. I would love to find an office manager job not in the school District, but that pays enough to cover what I make between bookkeeping and daycare. It would be wonderful. I am just having a tough time right now. I love each and everyone of you, so don't think I'm leaving here. I just need to help myself right now.

Dee-The Princess has arrived! I'm so glad you're back.

Sherry-My dad sounds like your FIL. I don't know what he would do if he couldn't drive anymore. Still sending prayers to you and yours.

Everyone I haven't mentioned-Have a great day and I love everyone!

Hello

Just a quick post to say hi before I go to hospital. They drained 74 mlg of fluid yesterday off MIL lungs & outside of lungs. She's not doing good. My FIL picked her casket out yesterday. So sad...

Dee....I'm sooooooooo happy you're back!!!! Tell us all about your trip!! I missed you!!!!!!!

Shelley....Here's a BIG HUG for you!!!! Thought maybe you needed one.Love ya!!!

03-24-2007, 11:18 AM
Thanks for staying with us all the newbies! We are kinda slow now but will hopefully pickup soon!

Sher, prayers continue for your family. Did you get the info I sent you?

Shelley, I can understand your struggles at work. When work stinks, it carries over into your personal life. I hope things change soon for you, you are under more stress then you need. Know if you need anything, you can email me.

Cheryl, did you ever hear from Ramona? How is life going for you? Are you still upsetting the farmers? LOL!

03-24-2007, 02:55 PM
Gayle, nope, I never heard from her. The e-mail addy you gave to me for her wouldn't work, either. I've thought REALLY hard about calling her, but I feel like that would be too much of an "invasion." I really miss having her around here, though, and I hope she still lurks to see that we care about her.

And I still upset farmers daily. :(

03-24-2007, 03:28 PM
Hmmm...I think I gave you the correct addy....I may try here in a little bit. That's ok, farmers always have something to whine about! LOL! This is coming from a farmers daughter & sister! LOL! We have farm ground but I let my brother take care of it. I can't even imagine "city boy" Steve trying to handle everything required. I do feel for the farmers though...

03-24-2007, 04:50 PM
Just to let you know Cheryl. I sent Ramona an email and it never came back. Hopefully, she may respond.

03-25-2007, 11:44 AM
Gayle...Thank you for the info.I finally had time to read it last night. Very interesting! Thanks again!!

I'm down 2 more lbs. today! :cp: Total of 16.8!

Where is everyone? Dee...Did you leave again? Or just unpacking?

Have a great day all.....

03-25-2007, 03:20 PM
I finally finished all my cleaning. We just got back from a trip to Goodwill and the library. We donated some books to the library for their book sale. Feels good! Now back to work tomorrow, would like a week off to enjoy my clean house, but.....

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

03-25-2007, 05:58 PM
4 myself- mom is fine dealing but fine , hes not sick or suffering like he has been for the past 2 years anymore so shes seems ok. some days shes odd some days shes ok but I know it all takes time.

Dee- dont i know where to go haha thanks.
Suzy- did your dog pass away? My dog was put to sleep a year ago. I grew up with her and it was hard at first . She was 14 and probabbly had cancer, she smelled and had this werid tumor on her chest and abdomen. If you need to talk just message me.

coles I am right here!!!

I figured out I gained 10 lbs in 2 1/2 weeks!!! eek !! time to get physical! I started with some walking and just finished lifting some weights I figure thats enough right now.

03-25-2007, 07:29 PM
Shelley...Just checking in on you. Are you ok sweetie?

03-26-2007, 12:05 AM

Vouge, nice to see you back! Are you ready for prom?

Ok, girls, attaching a link (hopefully) this is a dress I just ordered for a first of May, outdoor wedding. My niece is getting married and I am the wedding coordinator. What do you all think? I searched in town today without any success. Any style I liked had a horrible print to it or was made for a much younger person & body! LOL!
Please be honest! I can always send it back...

03-26-2007, 12:17 AM
Heard back from Ramona. Life is treating her good, Dan is doing better and Ben is overseas now. Here is a part of her message.

Things are going pretty good. Daniel is finally some better, mentally, which makes things easier on all of us. Ben has been in Iraq for 3 weeks. All in all, we are making it pretty good. Rick is having a total knee replacement on April 16 and hopefully that will take his pain away.
Are you still a Floozie? Tell everyone I said hello and I hope they all have a great spring time.

03-26-2007, 02:15 PM
Sherry congratulations on the weight loss. You are doing great. Keep it up, girl.

Gayle wow that is all I can say. I love that dress. I would definitely say go for it. It is very elegant.
Thanks for the report on Ramona. I miss her but am glad things have improved.

Vouge it is time to get back on track. Run, run, run.

I have been busy unpacking going to the Y and traveling around (took the kids to the states for shopping) and catching up with all my friends and family. I can't believe I haven't even finished unpacking. I should be done by tonight. It has been very busy.

03-26-2007, 05:52 PM
I think its beautiful ( the dress) but if someone else wore white or ivory on my wedding day I dont know how happy I would be. Anyways prom is this weekend. I am so excited and working my butt off.

03-26-2007, 06:49 PM
Checking in quick to let you all know that I'm still alive! I have had a couple weeks from "youknowwhere" and every time I start thinking that life is going to start getting easier something else goes wrong! I had to put $1200 into my car for a new head gasket last week and now this week my dad is in the hospital. He has trouble with his heart and they are starting him on a new medication for A-fib. It can cause kidney damage and he already has decreased kidney function, so they will need to monitor him closely. We're just keeping our fingers crossed that he can tolerate the med and that it helps.

Vouge ~ Thank you! My sheltie, Sadie, did pass away one week ago yesterday. It's been a really rough week, but it is getting easier. Yesterday was the first day that I made it through the whole day without crying. It's just so hard getting used to her not being here...we did everything together.

Dee ~ Welcome home!

Gayle ~ I love the dress! I hope you like it when it arrives. Somehow I'm always disappointed when I order online or from a catalog. I guess I do better if I can see it in person before I buy.

I'm glad to hear that things are going better for Ramona. I wish she would pop in and say hello every once in awhile...I miss her!

Shelley ~ Hugs to you! I hope things start looking up for you and Mike soon!

Janice, Cheryl, Allison and anyone else I might have missed ~ I hope you are well!

03-26-2007, 07:38 PM
STOP!!!!!! Please Go To #17.............
