Hi All,

Interview went well this AM. Recruiter didn't have any references on file for me, so the guy asked me to email him some references. Just talked to the recruiter and she said that's basically all they're waiting for. I told her that I will probably take the job if they offer it to me, but that I'm not happy about the benefits. I said the salary, in combo with the benefits, is not what I want. I would be happy with 2K more.

ER, congrats on the loss!

Karen, Hope you're hanging in there today!

Hello all! I am really stressing right now. I had three papers and an assignment to turn in last night, well I got the three papers done - completely forgot about the assignment until like 10 minutes before class. I had no access to a computer or anything. I am so upset.

Lauren, maybe they will offer you more. Hopefully anyways.

ER, so sorry about the delay in your MIL's surgery. Is she staying with you until it is over with? I hope you get along with her. I couldn't tell from your post.

RR, How are you doing? We haven't heard from you in a while. Hope everything is going smoothly.

Legal, hope you are feelling better.

Hello Everyone!

Well, it's Day 3 on SBD and I am craving carbs so bad today. And beef jerkey of all things! I normally hate the stuff unless it's a special one that we get by my folks in TX. I did buy a bag today and had one small piece for my AM snack. Alex had a sandwich for lunch and didn't eat his bread. He had crackers and didn't eat all of them. I *so* wanted to clean his plate! But I didn't. If I make it through the weekend without caving I think I will be OK.

Lisa: Oh man, that sucks about the assignment. Did the prof let you turn it in late? I hope things settle after mid-terms.

ER: Whoohooo! Wonderful on the loss. I'm sorry to hear about your MIL's surgery. I was an Occupational Therapist in another life, so I know how much relief the surgery can provide. I hope she gets to have it soon.

Lauren: Any news on the job? Have you gotten winter coats for the boys yet? JC Penny is having a 50% off sale and I got Alex 2 nice jackets, one heavy winter coat and one lighter one for fall/spring. They also had a buy one get one for $1 on Okie Dokie shirts/pants. I got him 4 sets and the jackets for $100.00.

Here's a pic of Alex ready for school:

Can you believe that last week he went in shorts, today he went in a long sleeve shirt and jeans! AND a jacket!

And this one was last weekend playing at the park:

Hi everyone. Got room for one more 30 something looking to lose some weight. I've been here off and on the last few years. Somehow I found my way back after a 2 year hiatus. I'm finding out that I'm so glad that I came back. I am dedicated to getting the weight off and keeping it off. I can definitely use the support of others that know what I am going through.

Well, let me tell you all a little about me. I'm 34(almost 35), married(2nd time) mother of 3(Zach,11, Kelsey,9 and Emily, 3). My oldest two(live with their father in Iowa) are from my first marriage and one from my current marriage. I am currently unemployed for the last month. I was having so much stress and issues with the new manager that I thought it would be in my best interests to leave before I did something I would regret. I was an assistant manager at a local convenience store for the last 5 years. Seems really odd not to be working, but it is nice to be home with my 3 year old. Working there was definitely not good when you are trying to lose weight. Lots of temptations and very little healthy foods.

I'm currently seeking employment in Iowa because I would really like to be closer to my older children and be closer to family. I haven't been to Iowa since moving here to Vermont. Long story on how I ended up here and why the kids live with their father. I have already sent my resume in and they sent me an application to fill out. Did that. Now I just have to wait and see. They should receive it on Monday. I'd move it a heart beat if I could get the job. I'm definitely ready for a change in ever aspect of my life. Weight is the biggest.

I just want to be healthier and feel good about who I am as a person. I feel like my weight holds me back in a big way. I'm pretty shy and quiet. I like to keep to myself alot and also I don't stand up for myself. I haven't even told my hubby about applying for the job in Iowa because I don't want him to be mad at me. I just want to please everyone else before myself. The weight loss is for me. I really need the support. Plus to keep me movtivated in the right direction. It's really hard right now. I feel like I've let everyone down with having no job and no car so going to the store is difficult. So I don't get to eat very healthy right now but I'm maintaining my weight for the time being. Just not losing any either.

Well, now that have rambled on and on. I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Annie

Annie welcom to our group. I think you will find the support that you are looking for. My name is Lisa and I am a college student in my senior year.

Karen, I don't even think that I am going to turn it in. It is only worth 25 points, and the whole class is 1000 pts. Thats only 2.5% of the grade. Besides I have got a lot of other homework to do.

Hello to everyone else

Good morning everyone!

I tried the egg/ricota cheese waffles this morning. It was a strange texture, but it tasted OK. I have to get some nonstick spray tho. The last one was impossible to get out of the waffle iron. I don't keep the spray 'cause it ruins non-stick surfaces. Guess it's a must have for the waffles .

Welcome Annie. We are happy to have you with us. Good luck with the job hunt.

OK, gotta go be with the family!

Hi All!

Popping online for the first time today! Geez, I was almost having w/d!!

Karen, I saw an infomercial for some stuff, can't remember the name of it now though. It's a tablet you drop in a big pot of boiling water and you put your stained pots and pans in it. It takes those grease stains off. I was thinking of getting some and seeing if it really works. I'll probably wait til it's 10 bucks at walmart or something.

We got Peter a new winter coat at BJ's actually. It's got a removable liner so it can be worn with the liner as a warm winter coat, without the liner as a lighter jacket, or wear just the liner at a sweatshirt kind of. I think it was $25.! Just got done going through a bag of clothes my cousin gave me for him too, and got a few pairs of pants and a bunch of shirts. It's weird dressing them in long pants and long sleeves, or sweatshirts over tee's to go outside!

Annie, Welcome! Glad to have you with us! Good luck finding a job. If you've been following the threads, you'll know I've been out of work for a little over a month and the seach is not easy. Does your DH know that you're interested in moving closer to your other children?? Is he on board with it?

The job...they made me an offer yesterday, but I am waiting to hear back from the agency about the cost of family coverage. That's where we stand right now. They will not budge on salary.

RR, Hope you're hanging in there OK! Was just watching on the news about the 9th ward this AM. Looks like there's nothing left. Hey, I have a question...what is the 9th ward? And what is a parish? Is that like, a county, or town, or what?

I had a grilled chicken salad for lunch today...it was soo freakin' good! Why can't I do that good all the time?

Hope everyone's enjoying the weekend!
