Welcome back Laura, glad you had a good vacation.

I've been very bad lately. This #$^% dog is killing me. I can't leave the house for more than 1/2 hr or I have a huge mess to clean up when I get back (in his crate, wouldn't dream of leaving him out loose in the house). So, my gym membership is calling me from afar. For some reason I can't motivate myself to workout at home and it's way to hot to do much outside with puppy. Long story short, I've been looking for a pen to put him in outside when I need to go out.

Food's been OK but I haven't gotten nearly enough exercise the last couple of weeks. I've lost 5#'s in 2 weeks (compared to my usual 1/2-1 lb) but I have the feeling that it isn't the 5#'s of me that I wanted rid of. I hate to complain about losing weight but is it possible to lose so much muscle in that time? ARGHHHH

Rant over

How are you liking the video's you got Susan? I've been thinking about trying some now that I actually have a/c in a room big enough to dance around in.

I'm in for the challenge Laura. I've got to get back to the gym and even though food hasn't been too bad, it hasn't been too good either. On the good side, I ate a couple of bites of broccoli for the first time in 20 years (picture my mother standing over me telling me that I can't get up from the table until I eat it while I sit there gagging ). It wasn't completely horrifying and no one was making me do it.

Talking Started with UBWO!!!

Hey everyone! I'm so motivated! We went to the gym today for the first time since mid-July (when things got crazy around here!) It was HARD but it felt GREAT to be exercising these flabby arms after weeks! I was encouraged when we were water-skiing a couple of weeks ago that I could tell I was in fairly good shape! So it DOES pay off to go to the gym!!!

Our breakfast was a power shake (all kind of yummy things in there!) and then later a snack of whole-wheat tortilla with a small squirt of low-fat mayo, some turkey ham, and tiny smear of re-fried beans, and a tomatoe slice. We're invited to a friend's house for our mid-day meal (eaten around 3:00 pm here in Mexico) and we both decided we'd just eat small portions. Hmmmm..... She's having black-bean enchiladas! Yum!

Are you with me? Laura

So far today I've had my morning waffles -200 cals-, my whole-wheat-tortilla, baked-fajita-chicken burrito with lots of fresh salsa - about 250 calories and good to the last drop (of salsa on the floor, puppy apparently likes salsa). Bit of toast with peanut butter for a snack -200 cals. Planning on a nice lean pork chop -250 cal - for dinner after my belly dancing class - just started last week and it's not much of a cardio workout yet but, boy, were my obliques sore. Going to try to get the dog pen done tonight and then I'm back at the gym on a regular basis.

I spent most of yesterday "moving" from my apartment upstairs to the main house downstairs. Luckily no furniture involved, just setting up things the way I like them, moving my clothes, putting up the toilet paper holder, shower curtain, put in some shelves in the bathroom closet (only slightly high on one side ), gave a few pounding slams to the stakes for the dog pen every time I went by, etc. I got in a bit of a workout doing all that, or at least I sweated enough going up and down stairs in 100 degrees that it felt like a good workout. Yay! No more living in my office, now I can live in the construction zone downstairs...and only 2.5 years after buying the place!

I am back on track after a week of lazyness. I found out this morning I had lost 1 lb. so I'm excited. I'm closer to my goal weight.

Wink "Kinda'" isn't cutting it!

Hey Everyone!

Well, today was Day Two of our new resolve, however, both days we've had invitations to eat out with someone. So.... today my hubby ate a big ole' hunk of meat (I eat it NOT! Only chicken and fish!) and I ate what was available. However, at an event at my house tonight I served chips and hotdogs and grilled cheese sandwhiches, and we both refrained!

I'm not counting calories however, and I'm afraid of the "kinda' diet" - you know, where you are kinda on a diet but not really enough to lose weight - just lower the metabolism enough so that if you really want to lose, you have to eat, like, a lettuce leaf every three days. So I want to start tomorrow counting what I eat (WW points is what works best for me.) Cuz' it's so easy to talk myself into eating a little MORE when I'm not writing it down.

So how did everyone else do today? Oh yeah, AND we went on a 30 minute brisk walk. So THAT was today's exercise.

Julia, does the dog get the apartment?

hey, im trying to lose about 21 lbs...close enough to 15 right? sort of...anyways, i've just started back on my diet/exercise regimen after cheating for two weeks in california with my friend and then getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out (no real food, no real exercise).

i'm a vegan, and i generally try to eat between 1300-1500 calories. but since my dental surgery, i'm unable to eat solid foods, so my caloric intake is down to 1100-1200, although im trying really hard to increase it. i just started exercising again yesterday, jumping a bit of rope and going to the gym for an hour. today i started back on my 6-days-a-week tae-bo. i plan to try to get to the gym atleast 3x a week and jump rope everyday.

i think this is a good enough intro, right?

I took about a week off partly b/c my stroller broke during my morning walk almost 2 weeks ago. I just got my new one mid last week. I was extreemly lazy. My excuse to my husband for not working out, "I feel more motivated to do my Tae Bo if I walk first" I know it wasn't a good excuse.
But I'm back on track now. I've lost a total of 1 1/2 lbs.
I know what you mean "Mexicomom" about logging in your food.

Pimpishboo-jump right in, as you can see I have 20 lbs to go too.

Hi everyone! I'd love to join this group - I have about another 6-8 kg to lose - which is around 15 pounds! I've hit a bit of a slump and would love some more support - it looks like you're all doing so well!

I try to eat as much unprocessed food as possible and workout at least 6 days a week. The weight is coming off gradually! Weekends are a real struggle for me - it's very easy to go off plan, but it's getting easier. I know I'll get there in the end, I just need to keep going!

Talk to you all soon!

If he doesn't start learning the meaning of "housebroken" and "don't chew through my ethernet cables" pretty soon he may get the front porch

I've been on the kinda diet the last couple of weeks and I really need to buckle back down. I think being able to go back to the gym this week will help. I really am pretty comfortable at the weight I'm at now but I'm still waaaay too jiggly. It's hard to get motivated to eat right when I know that without my workouts I still won't be going in the right direction.

Jump on in pimpishboo & Blyss, we're getting to be quite the international group

Default hi everyone

hi everyone,

I have about 21lb to loose. I have already lost 7lb but it has taken me 7 weeks to do so!! I am currently doing slimming world but I haven't stuck to it religiously-which will explain the small weight loss. Aiming to be at my goal weight of 9 1/2 stone by christmas! Good luck to everyone!

7 lbs in 7 weeks isn't bad at all. It's taken me about 6 months to lose 20 lbs being very good for about 3 of those months and not so very good for the other 3 (guess when most of that was lost ). Slow and steady is best anyway.

I'm thrilled to report that I got under 130! I'm pretty excited. My ultimate goal is to hover under 125 lbs, so I'm pretty close. It's a great feeling. There's a word I'm trying to think of .... I'll edit when I think of it.

It's gratifying ... that's it. I feel gratified!
