Default Soy or Whey?

Which one tastes better? Around how much do they cost, and how much do you get it for the price you pay.Does one have better nutritional value? or anything else you think is worth mentioning about these... im looking to buy some, but have no idea about either one.

Hey since we are in the same boat I'll paddle for a bit while you rest and we wait on an answer.

Do you mean just soy (beans? milk? flour?) and just plain whey? What do you want it for? I'm so confused. Whey is full of protein and has very little fat. Soy has the feel of a "frankenfood" to me since it has to be processed to be edible... I guess it depends on what you want it for.

I need more fiber really. Does it have a taste to it and if so what is it like. Would I be just as well to have ground flax seed? I'm tryin to spice up my life! lol Thanks!

If it's for protein drinks, it doesn't matter which one as I think they have nearly the same nutritional value. I prefer the taste of whey.
Bamie, use ground flax for fiber.

If you are going to make protein shakes, Designer Whey is the best brand imho. I get them here for about 9 dollars a container. If you're just looking to up your fiber, I'd add ground flax to a few things throughout the day. Have it on top of salads, add it into ground meats or recipes.

hey, Thanks for all your great answers. I want the soy or whey for protein shakes in the morning, seeing I might get sick of eggs awfully fast. AZLowcarber, how big is the container you buy?

I don't have a container on hand at the moment, but I think they are 12 oz. cans??? You can also buy a big container.

I get whey protein powder at Costco. 6# tub for a little over $20 US. Tastes great. Choice of vanilla or chocolate. I buy vanilla b/c I mix it with berries in season. It's got 19 g of protein per scoop, only 2 g of fat and 3 g of carbs. has 140 g of potassium, which I like, too.
