Lightbulb Weekly goals (June 2-8)

I have lots of goals I'm working toward. Some I'm doing well at (getting my water in, exercising 5x a week) and others I need to work harder at achieving (journalling, only eating in designated areas of my house, work) so I figured we could start a weekly goal (This is not for a weight loss expectation) thread for those of you trying to change your lifestyle.
We have a lot of new members and many are looking to change the little things.
Each week we can post our little goals we are trying to acheive. If you don't do it on one day, don't fret and give up just keep on going. Before long each of these little things will become routine and you won't even think about them anymore.

My goal for this week is to journal, journal journal every bite I take on www.fitday.com

anyone else care to join me in setting a goal?

I really would like to remember to take my vitamins every day for one week. I don't know why it's so hard, but it is.

My goals are to exercise 5 days a week and to only eat in the kitchen.

Sheila, My trick to taking my vitamins is to take them at night right before bed. It has become part of my night time routine so I just remember before I go to sleep to take my vitamins. I was horrible about remembering when I tried to take them in the day time.

Shelia I do the same as Victoria. I was bad when I was PG with William so I put them on my nightstand and I had to reach over them to turn off the light so I'd see the bottle and remember to take them. I've always got a glass of water by the bed anyway.

I'm with Sheila on this one. I always forget to take my vitamins. I'm going to have to load the pill box up and leave it beside my bed and try that.

Dawnyal, I used to journal everything on fitday when I first started. I really enjoyed it. I don't use it so much anymore since I am so much more familiar with the contents of my food. It really helped me. I hope that you get the same positive results that I did.

Good luck ladies with your goals this week.

Unfortunately, I can't take the multivitamin at night. It gives me nightmares. Isn't that weird? I started taking this particular brand after attending a clinic and after the other participant and I were given the vitamins, we both took them at night. The next day, we both complained of horrendous nightmares, and the clinic director said that was a side effect of the vitamins. Don't know why.

I think it's a good idea, though, if you're just taking "regular" vitamins. I probably should set mine out with my breakfast.

Sheila, I'm totally with you on forgetting to take vitamins. I need to take iron pills or I get really anemic, and I'm just horrible at taking them, so I end up getting really sick and you'd think that'd be enough to teach me next time but no. I swear it must be a mental block, why I can't program myself to do something as simple as "take them after you brush your teeth in the morning." I mean, they sit right there. It's like a mental block with me.

My two goals this week are:

1. Take my iron pill daily.
2. No late night grazing after 8 pm. (I'm doing really good at keeping within my 1500-2000 calorie starting range by my rough estimations, but for some reason, I've been mini-binging late at night all last week. Like I'll eat a granola bar for a snack, and next thing I know I've downed two more. Maybe not eating after 8 will help.)

So far I've done well and put it all in.

Scuttle--Some tips I've found to help me to keep from grazing is to set a timer for 8 p.m. or keep an eye on the clock. If you feel yourself getting the urge to graze go brush your teeth. If that doesn't work, I'll call it an early night and go to bed.

my goal this week ( sorry it was late. I am finally able to sit upright today ) is to keep my food journal every day. Keep my regular journal each day. Drink my water each day and weight and measure all the food i eat. I see that some are struggling wiht the vitamin thing. I have created a habit of taking them as soon as I wake. They are actually in the bathroom so after I do the one thing I must do int eh moring they are staring me inthe face. Trust me I do not forget them

Well, for two days I did well. Does that count?? Lol..You would think something as easy as taking a vitamin would not be such a chore to me. I might be in big trouble when it is time to start birthcontrol pills again.

Tammy,

That's why I'm on depo-provera. Once every three months is a lot easier for me to remember than every day. I would SO be pregnant by now if I was on the pill!

Heya Jessica, how have you been? Well I hope. I tried the shot before. It was a disaster. I had break through bleeding the whole six months I did it. I finally decided it was not for me. I gave it a good try though.

Hehe Victoria, You got an unexpected blessing. I guess it's really hit and miss til you find something that works the best. I've never had a problem with the pill (thank god).
