In honor of what used to be and can be again...if we all just pitch in
So I went back and found this....it's how Heather had it set up and I loved the format so in her honor I will once again try and get it off the ground.
Welcome to the April exercise thread! We're making exercise a habit, giving ourselves some accountability, and getting healthier in the process!
In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves. If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes, maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month!
In 2010 the 300+ club broke our 2009 record and exercised for over 250,000 minutes. I don't know if we'll break that record, but I do know exercise is a great way to keep on plan.
We invite you to join us!
To keep track, just add your minutes to the existing group’s minutes. If you’re new, look at what other people are doing – it’s pretty easy to figure out! To help everyone keep things straight, please note the OLD minutes and the number of NEW minutes you are adding, such as
Group total ~ 500 + 50 = 550 minutes.
There was a time when this felt like a huge family of people encouraging one another and cheering each other on. I know it can be like that again. When you are over 300 pounds, you face a unique set of challenges but together we are must stronger than we ever are alone. So if it takes everything that I have and for as long as I still have breath in me...I will keep working to get this thread back on track.
Starting with yesterday and Monday I had 30 min wfc abs and 35 min candlelight yoga
Yesterday I did 20 minutes on my elliptical and took a long walk at lunch, you know I didn't time it...but I left the office and 12 and lost pretty much all my lunch hour, getting in over 2700 steps. I'm going to say a conservative 40 minutes. So that's 60.
yesterday according to my fitbit I had 40 active minutes (from walking and drumming)
I will leave today's for tomorrow as I have some drumming to get done.
I totally forgot to come back this weekend...I was really busy! So...going off my Fitbit and not worrying about whether they were intentional workouts or not:
Friday night saw me getting 10 minutes of elliptical and 40 minutes of weights. Saturday April 22, I got a 18 minute walk. Sunday April 23, another 12 minutes.
