Default cracked heels

I've been using baby bee ointment on my heels for awhile now and I had a question. Will these get better with weight loss? I'm assuming that's one of the reasons I have them since I never had them at lower weight.

I have always had cracks and calluses on my feet - thin or fat. I use AmLactin which I get at Costco. It has Alpha-Hydroxy acid in it and used to be by prescription only. Probably any lotion with Alpha-Hydroxy acid would work. If you put it on every day and don't go barefooted your feet will improve pretty quickly. I also use a "foot file". It is a thing like a wood rasp for your feet. The lotion also helps my rough elbows.

they might get better with weight loss, especially since you never had an issue before, but it's not a guarantee. I've had to work really hard with my feet my whole life, I found using a foot file (Swedish Clover, can get at Sally's beauty supply) when my skin is soft in the shower help keeps the rough skin at bay... just moisturizing isn't enough for me, my feet look best when exfoliated.

I've found that dry skin brushing has helped my heels a lot! Even though it has taken a while, just the few seconds of brushing my feet has helped a lot. For me I think it's a lot of being barefoot and wearing flip flops all the time. I haven't found it to be any better with the weight loss, because if I miss too many days of brushing, they start to crack again.

I struggled with heel cracks for years and years. Very painful. I found that wearing socks with shoes (as opposed to bare feet in sandals) helps a lot. When they were bad I even wore socks to bed at night with a good cream or ointment. I also second using the foot file and alpha hydroxy acid cream.

They are painful! Especially first thing in the morning! I'm going to have to pick up a footfile, my pumice stone just isn't cutting it.

I'll also pick up some alpha hydroxy cream. Thanks ladies!

My feet are god awful. I found that those aloe socks help a lot. They still look bad, but it eases the pain.

I don't have terrible cracked heels but I use cheap-o refined coconut oil. That stuff is like nectar of the gods. Eat it, smear it. It doesn't matter. My husband has terrible callouses from working with his hands. He used c-oil religiously for a week and they were softening and getting back to normal. Highly recommend coconut oil!! (If you're going to eat it, make sure you get pure VIRGIN coconot oil and not the refined stuff...it's not quite as safe to eat).

EDIT:

oops, disregard. Just saw your other post about coconut oil. You already know this.

I don't think weight loss will help. I get them , my best suggestion call your Avon Lady and order some Cracked Heel Relief Cream , that stuff works like magic.

I saw my dr today about a lingering earache from a cold I had last week and mentioned my heel pain.

Turns out, my cracks weren't what was hurting. I have plantar flaciitis in one foot. So, that sucked.

I did get the alpha hydroxy cream and did a coconut oil and brown sugar scrub on my feet, though.

I second the Avon Cracked Heel Cream!! I have had this problem for a decade now, and the only thing that's ever really worked for me is the Avon cream - and it's not too $$$ either!
